Canada	K1 Visa and University Enrollment/Tuition Rates	Hi Guys, I am just wondering if Sean can start attending college in the US right away after he gets his social security number, or if he needs to wait for a period of time. I know in the US when you move from state-to-state, you have to live in your curent state for 1 year before you can get in-state tuition. Since he is coming from Canada, will be have to pay international tuition (which is ridiculously high) or can he pay in-state since he immigrated on the K1 Visa? Would he need to wait 1 year from AOS or 1 year from the date he activated his Visa? I doubt he wants to start back to school any time soon, but I'd like for him to finish up. He has a 2 year college degree and I'd like him to get his bachelor's finished. Thanks! I came in on a cr-1, but my school based my residency on my wifes! I just had to produce a document proving she had resided in VA for at least 1 yr--think I brought in a copy of her State taxes, and they gave me in state rates! Canada	Do I need a Visitor's Visa?	Its a frustrating event as NO ONE can promise you entry into the USA even with the strongest ties to Canada! It all comes down to the Port Of Entry (POE) officer. Many of us had no problems visiting, I never got hassled, but most of us didn't stay for 6 months! Think my longest was 3 weeks. My free advice is offered below in my signature. Canada	What size of UPS trailer did u rent?	Yep , read the owners manual!! And prop best idea is to rent a u-haul and tow ur car on the trailer u can rent from them! That was my plan, but I said screw it and sold (or gave away,lol) my car! Friends got a heck of a deal there!! I had no probs with my U-haul truck--except it was dirty inside and I had to clean it. U-haul has a bit of a rep at time that their trucks are crappy! I told the manager I was traveling a fair distance and i wanted a mechanical sound truck! and he promised it would be!! Make sure u look over the truck before u leave--fluids, tire pressure. I got crappy gas mpg, but i was doing like 70 mph, so thats expected. U can get price estimates on the u-haul website. Canada	Canadian Guilt?	I'm probably in the minority, as i feel we have it easy!! Through my travels have come across a lot of sad situations! I imagine many don't get the opportunity to travel to see their spouse or even communicate daily with the spouse. Here I was back in Canada with everything I needed and more, had a great job, saw my wife every month, (more would be nicer,lol) but really had nothing to complain about. Had food/beer in my fridge, all was good. And I am a very "me" kind of person and not religious in any ways. Canada	NOT Wyatt's Torch...	Whats with the terminator participating in it?? Is it based on him promoting a healthy lifestyle or what?? I'll watch the Olympics,but I don't think its as big as event as it used to be! Years ago, there was very little sports on TV--hockey only on Sat night for the most part, some sat afternoon sports coverage of other sports. Now 1 can watch it 24 hrs a day!! At least it's only $13 where I live now! Which community were you in? Did you live here or just visit for work? I wonder if we know any of the same people...weird. I never have any idea what's going on in the rest of Canada. P.S. 1L of milk here is $8 at the cheapest. I was in Nunavut with the Air Force back in 2004. Crazy expensive!! I worked last night,BUT I worked out that I had to hang blood for a pt near midnight my time!1 And one has to stay with the pt for the first 15 minutes of each new unit--so I timed it perfectly, got to watch the lighting of the Olympic Flame, AND of course watched out for any adverse reactions the pt may have had,lol I saw bits and pieces through out my shift and the pts that watched it stated they enjoyed it very much. Olympic participants are dedicated to their cause with a give all, fight to the end attitude which was exactly what Terry Fox believed in and to this day his cause is still being fought. and pretty much everyone knows someone that has been affected by Cancer!! I have a hard time dragging my butt to the gym 5 times a week and I'm healthy (maybe not mentally,lol) and what he did in his condition! amazing! Who better portrays, courage, persistence than terry fox, a true fighter. Each yr communities across canada have a terry Fox run! His name lives on forever. And what better place for his family to light the torch, other than in the province he would have finished his journey in. Of course now a days all the Olympics means is $$$$$.
