Doing tortilla soup again... meatless this time and I'm adding corn and beans. I'll usually follow a recipe the first time and then do things on my own the second.

Oh and I bought a case of Keiths at the duty free shop yesterday so I think I'll have one of those with dinner too. tongue.gif

YUM!! I brought back a case of Keiths with me too biggrin.gif

Tonight tried Trader Joe's perogies, but I still prefer Wegmans over any perogies! Had a nice salad too with chickpeas.

Krikit, get started on that wine!

I'm surprising hubby with a Canadian dinner since I just got home - chicken with swiss chalet dipping sauce, and poutine with St Hubert BBQ poutine sauce (I know it's not the healthiest dinner but today's special). Also an Alexander Keith's beer! And for dessert, Laura Secord easter creme eggs! For me, something light I had a large lunch. We're celebrating being together after 2 weeks apart and my US resident status biggrin.gif

Speaking of Mexican, RobandMel have you ever eaten at Don Antonio's? I've heard it's really good there. It's often featured on one of your favourite TV shows, THE HILLS. Heidi and Spencer eat there often.

Ohhh yeah they do! They're an appetizer, deep fried and sprinkled with some cajun seasoning, and the dipping sauce is cajun, so yummy!

I'm in Montreal now visiting Pops and stepmom, so we went to a nice Italian place that we go to on every visit. It has a wood burning pizza oven but I didn't feel like za, because they have the best pesto sauce I've ever had! With ricotta filled tortellini. It was deelish. I can't wait to go to Lafleurs this weekend and also get Montreal bagels to bring home.

I did crispy chicken with those french's fried onions. Then I made a dipping sauce with ranch dressing mixed with franks red hot sauce. It may sound gross but its really good. Also had criss cross baked potatoes and green beans on the side.

I love frenchs fried onions. I put them on salad sometimes. What are criss cross baked potatoes?

The Mexican was soooo good... I had a lime frozen margarita, 2 bean and cheese burritos, mexican rice and refried beans on the side... and of course chips and guac!

I went to one of my favourite restaurants in town here called Montforts, great med food. I had a falafel pita with hummos and greek salad, so yummy. My Mom had french onion soup and chicken shwarma. Tomorrow, heading to Zellers to get all my wonderful Canadian staples to bring home!!

I heart.gif Montforts!!!!!! crying.gif Oh! Jill! There is a fabulous new Italian restaurant at Trafalgar and Hwy 6, across from the SuperCentre.... in the little plaza by the LCBO. Just in case you wanted real Italian. laughing.gif

I have no idea what we are having for supper this evening. I am thinking we may get some bread and wine at The Holy Land Experience. tongue_ss.gif

Isn't Montforts the BEST!! Oh really, that's right where my sister lives! Maybe we'll check it out Sunday, thanks!

Oh for pete's sake. I mean Hwy 5 and Trafalgar, not Hwy 6. Those two roads don't even connect! I've been gone too long. laughing.gif

Well, I didn't get bread and wine at The Holy Land Experience. I made a fish dinner instead. Kind of fitting, really. tongue_ss.gif

Last night we had meatloaf and tonight I made smoked bbq ribs with potato salad, corn-on-the-cob and a tomato/cucumber/mozzarella/basil salad. Rave reviews all around. Plus lots of leftovers so that's what we'll have tomorrow also. yay.

laughing.gif As soon as you said the supercentre and LCBO, I knew what you were referring to. You must have been thinking of sixth line!

I can't eat seafood or shellfish, it makes me sicky....

My Mom came home from work and was exhausted today, so I made us a nice spaghetti dinner. She really enjoyed having me cook for her as she lives alone. Then I went to a local pub with my friends and we shared nachos and some laughs.

In Canada they have grocerygateway.com, where they deliver you your groceries and even put them in your fridge! I wonder if they have something like that here.

I was looking at this and thinking "A taco place where you stand and stuff your face? A taco stand where you stuff your own?" No idea what we're having this evening. Though I am currently leaning towards a light Italian pasta. Hmm. Maybe with clams.

laughing.gif A taco place where you stand and stuff your face sounds awesome!! But you're right, it's a hard taco shell with a flat bottom so your goodies don't spill out all over the plate.

OMG that's funny, my sister called me last week and said I have to take her to the Silk City Diner when she comes at Easter, because she saw it on the food network and it looked amazing. So it's really good? I can't wait to go!!

Omg thats so funny because I was going to PM you and ask you if you wanted to go there on some Friday or Saturday night! Perhaps when the weather gets nice! Its awesome! They make great martinis I have heard... couldn't drink yesterday because I was with my mom. tongue.gif

I thought that was so awesome of her. He was amazing though! Rare you get service like that anywhere these days.

That's sooo nice of her! I've never heard of Champps. I always tip well (as long as the service deserved it) because servers work SO hard, running around and they take ####### from rude customers all day and don't make a lot of $$ so when they are good, I want to tip well!

Screw dinner - People - you must try this Brownie mix - touted as best no fat brownie - 2 pts for you WW fiends! All you do is add 1 small container of non-fat Vanilla yogurt...weird sounding, but works out great. no eggs, no milk even.

I picked it up at Giant just to see how they tasted and they are absolutely divine - no artificial ingredients, nice chewy, super chocolatey brownies. We 3 finished the pan while playing World of Warcraft last night!

Oh the restaurant looks charming Carla!

I ended up making stew yesterday, so we just had that with a piece of bread, it was good though.

Jill that is funny about the fried macaroni and cheese balls - just this weekend my Husband said, what if you took macaroni and cheese and coated it and fried it - then again, I don't think there is anything here that hasn't been fried haha.
