Ummmmm...... okay, I'm feeling kind of embarrassed telling people this, but......

We're going on another family cruise for Christmas! kicking.gif

My parents, hubby and I, my sister and her husband (from England), my kids, and my brother. Not sure if my daughter's fiance is coming or not..... I just picked up the emails that have been going back and forth for the last 4 days. Apparently no one likes to phone me, either. laughing.gif

It's the Panama Canal, Aruba, Costa Rica, Curacao, and the Bahamas this time. And it's on the same ship that we were on for the Mediterranean cruise last summer! That ship gets around. LOL. The funny thing is... the ship's captain lives in the same town as I do. Weird. Wonder if I'll get the same cabin? laughing.gif

Here's the link: Panama Canal Cruise

That's wonderful! Why are you embarrassed? So cool! I love cruising

Good Morning All,

Have the Pens won the Cup anytime recently? I hope they win, I like the underdog.

If you apply for a CR1, do you not have to go through ROC? Or any other ####### once you get your GC? Hmmm, I should have researched my options more thouroughly!

I think that if one has a party, once in a blue moon and notifies the neighbors, that's OK to have one loud night (on a weekend). At my old apt, I had a housewarming party and knocked on my neighbors doors to let them know it might be a bit loud, and they thanked me for the courtesy. But of course, not when it's going on every night!

E, maybe you should complain to the landlord and this time HE can speak to them.

Do we avoid talking to people? Have we forgotten how to deal with one another.

I understand that people work, that people have answering machines but it is just my obversation..

The other day I was trying to update records of members and I called them and left messages and asked them to call me back with their information... waited... no replies.

Then I email them all today and what? I get six replies within the first three minutes.

I understand email is easier for most but I just get the sense that no one even wants to speak to anyone anymore.

It's lke my friend I have been trying to get a hold of for a couple of months and everytime I call her I get her machine voice mail, and I would take it personally except we all have the same problem with her. She emails me every other day with news in her life, and I try to call her and I get her machine BUT a day later she tells me she's sorry she missed my call and she's been meaning to call me but is SO busy! Her fingers must move faster than her mouth because she can't even talk but she can text and email like a mofo.

My husband pretty much refuses to go into the bank and talk to a person and prefers the self check out line even when we have a pile of groceries... something I love about the wegmans near us, there is no self check out and we HAVE to talk to a person.

We just seem so disconnected... it's like we just don't want to deal with eachother anymore.

My husband thinks I'm strange because I am always saying hello to people I don't know. But I love people.

Interesting observation. I have a few friends like that, I'll call and leave messages and rather than a call back, they think it suffices to write me an e-mail saying sorry I missed your call, was busy, etc. But they never actually call back, they e-mail. It's hard to pinpoint why, I mean are we all busier than people were 20 years ago before e-mail and those things?

I prefer the self checkout too, but it's not so much to avoid talking to the clerk. It's just because I have control over what I'm scanning and packing in the bag, I check the prices carefully and pack the bag the way I like to.

Well today is off to a good start.

Last evening we received the lawn sign from our community that announces "Most Beautiful Lawn of the Month" award for our neighbourhood. We have won this every year for the past 5 years for either July or August but this is the first time we have won it for June. Since we are nominated by our neighbours it is always nice to get!

Today I drove into Atlanta earlier for the biometrics appointment for my naturalization application. I left at 7:15 and traffic wasn't as bad as I expected (stop start for about half of the distance instead of all of the distance). I arrived at 8:25 and they let me in at 8:30 for my 9 o'clock appointment. Everything went smoothly and I was actually finished at 9 and on my way back home.

It is hot again and humid today so I weeded the front garden (felt guilted into doing it by the award sign, hehehhehe) and am going to spend the rest of the day going through the various files and boxes of my 6 year immigration journey and see what I want to keep and what I want to toss. There is a lot of stuff from preparing for the move and such that I really don't need anymore and file storage is at a premium. I have 3 large file boxes of immigration related stuff and I am going to try and get it down into one box only.

And - I also had my Dunkin Donuts French Vanilla coffee with double cream and sweetner - so I am good to go! (Had 2 munchkins as well, hehehe).

That's a great award Kathryn, congrats!!

I woke up some time during the night as my chain was in the bed, the little circle part has come away. boo.

EWWWW!! I hate bugs. We get these june bug beetlely things in this weather, they are all over the place. Somehow they keep getting inside, and one landed on my head once while eating dinner last week. I screamed sooo loud. I bought this thing at Sears, it looks like a tennis racquet. You hit a button and swat the bug, it eletrocutes them on the spot. I know it sounds mean but I hope it's a quick death, I can't have these beetles in my home!

I honestly thought that's what I was going to name him, a friend of mine even made me a blanket with the name "Corgan" on it.

However my mother was quick to remind me a couple of weeks before I gave birth of a promise I made to her when I was a child that she could name my first born. I guess it's a good thing I kept my word.

A couple in NJ named their child "Adolf Hitler", and they tried to get the local supermarket to have the child's b-day cake say Happy Birthday Adolf. Needless to say the bakery would not comply, and the child was since removed from the parents home
