Well, we had our wedding over the weekend. We just did a courthouse wedding and are planning to do something next year, hopefully on our anniversary. LoL, whole ceremony took a grand total of 3 minutes.

Congrats on your marriage!!

I was thinking that.

I just read the mt. laurel fire department website and it says we're not allowed to cook under an open flame on a balcony. laughing.gif

Whoops. But I see so many other people do it. And yes for the record, if it everyone else jumped off a bridge, I would too... tongue.gif

They have that same rule in Ontario - although maybe it was municipal - in Kitchener - you can't BBQ on an apartment balcony, against Fire regulations

I always thought it was odd we were allowed any type of BBQ in my old apartment in Oakville - coal, propane, etc. I didn't have one, but often saw others BBQing and it was definitely allowed. The fire dept didn't recommend it, but it wasn't a rule.

We grilled outside too. But then my husband dropped a piece of coal through our balcony and it landed on the neighbors patio. Yea she didn't like that too much. Her son walked outside and was about to pick it up and she said: "Leave it there for when I report them"

Ok there, don't you think it would take less energy to pick up the damn charcoal than it would be to call the property management and report us?

And isn't it funny we're getting "reported" for dropping a piece of coal through our balcony, yet the neighbors next door had a huge party that was loud and outside and lasted until at least 4 this morning.

I don't know about you guys, but I would take a single piece of coal over a noisy crowd of frat boys any day. laughing.gif

That's ridic because it was obviously an accident, it's not like you threw it on purpose or something

Anyone know anything about Sirius Radio transfers?

I have it set up here in Canada. Can my fiancé add my car radio to his account? Or are Canadian serial numbers different?

Also, can you have an ETR 407 account on a US plate? I still use it when I visit...from Burlington to Richmond Hill? My fiancé already has me on his Eazy Pass account even though I have Ontario plates.

Thanks smile.gif

Not sure about Sirius, but you can definitely have a 407 account on US plates. They will bill you no matter your province or state. I sometimes wonder how they get your address, but they do!

Funny enough, my fiance has used the 407 a couple of times, and has yet to see a bill several months later? whistling.gif Needless to say, I won't be calling and asking where the bill is lol!

Maybe his bill is being sent to Huggles Dad laughing.gif

I've always wished I could sing sad.gif

Being totally random, I was thinking about something today. Not to start a huge debate, but hypothetically, what If someone was in a same sex relationship with an American and wanted to come live and marry in the US? I understand that same sex marriages are not legal in most states, but what if the USC resided in a state like Massachusetts, where these marriages are legal. I haven't heard of such a relationship here on VJ... I was just wondering if its possible, or does USCIS say no way? Also too, an American citizen in a same sex relationship could easily be married to a Canadian up in Canada. Does they mean they could file a CR-1 or K3?

The answer is probably no, but under what grounds? As far as I know, there is no national law on the issue. Completely random, just curious!

It's unfortunately a no! Which is sad but true. The spousal and fiancee Visas are issued by the federal govt, it's not state issued. Therefore even though same sex marriage is legal in a few states, you still cannot sponsor a same sex spouse or fiancee as it's not federally recognized. Which is a shame IMO. A friend of mine from Hamilton met his love online from Nebraska, and he immigrated him to Canada since they couldn't do it the other way around. They are now happily married!

Have you ever have someone give you an abundance of something? Like way too much...

My mom sent my son down with 8 jars of homemade relish. She keeps asking me if I have tried any... I don't like relish. sad.gif
What am I going to do with 8 jars of relish? I am thinking about slowly emptying them into the trash and keeping the mason jars. tongue.gif

It reminds me of when my grandma died - I hate doilies more than the average person, I have a doily issue, I don't know where it stems from, I just find them tacky.

Well after my grandma died I got this HUGE box and inside it was all the doilies she made. I think she only knew how to crochet doilies because there were hundreds. I MEAN HUNDREDS! In all shapes and sizes.

Being the sentimental person I am, I kept this box of doilies and I have been dragging it around with me for the past 5 years. It was one of the biggest boxes during my move and when my husband lifted it he asked what was inside and I said: "Doilies" He just gave me this look.

Yes they're doilies, hundreds of doilies in all colours of the rainbow and no I won't get rid of them. tongue.gif

Maybe give the relish away to peeps at work, just to avoid wasting it! 8 jars is a bit much, even if you were a huge relish lover!!

I feel so bad for my cousin and his fiancee.

They have decided to get married and they have NO money at all. Her mother just passed away, and she is now living with my cousin at his parents. My cousins parents have NO money and can't help him at all. He's a dishwasher and she's a waitress at Swiss Chalet and she's well an art student at George Brown. I give her props for going to school and working but I just don't know about them having a wedding. Every other day her facebook status is asking people if they know of a cheap space to rent for a reception.

Today they sent me an invitation on facebook for their jack and jill and they've decided to have their jack and jill on the beach... like Kew Beach in Toronto... in June. They are talking about having lots of drinks and stuff for everyone.

Umm drinking on the beach is illegal... so I decided to message his fiancee and ask her if she knew of this stuff. She said she didn't. You can't just have a party on the beach. laughing.gif Well you can but you can expect to get your a$$es fined.

Also how are you going to justify asking people to spend 25.00 to show up at your jack and jill that is being held on public property??

I can not take his wedding seriously.

I don't think either of them know what they are doing. laughing.gif

His brother is getting married this fall too, but him and his fiancee have saved up properly for their big day.

Oh my! I am not a fan of Jack and Jills at all.... good how you messaged her to let her know, could you imagine if it got raided by the cops what a way to ruin their party!

Speaking of 'eh' this weekend my fiancé caught me saying 'huh' a lot and with a sad face be said 'huh?, what happened to the eh!' haha! He loves making fun of me and is worried I'm losing it!

Jill, we priced out the UHaul move, we considered that cost plus the flight for him to come down and the fact that we would need help loading and unloading... At the end of the day the money came close and the hassle even bigger! Plus my fiancé was mortified that he would have no Satellite radio to listen to Howard Stern all the way home for 8 hours! Haha!

Ps. Sorry for potential typos...I type on my iPhone with these long nails...don't want it mistaken for illiteracy or Ebonics! Lol'!

Understand that, makes sense!! I felt bad for my man because he was driving this Uhaul with nothing but a crappy radio inside, no CD player or anything. At least I had my tunes to sing along to!

Hey guys... I never really posted in here... but I was looking for a 'daily banter' and I guess this is it.... LET ME IN! HAHA!

well today is my first day back from Montreal... and i'd like to say that I officially have a cloud that floats over my head... no matter where I go, weather is always ****!!!!! I left for Montreal, it was cold and WINDY! Spoke with my mom back in TO, she was like 'yeah, we are wearing tshirts outside...blah'! and we checked PA weather while we were in MTL and saw it was 22C in PA... #######??? lol!

Now I wake up and it's pouring outside! HAHA! what gives?

I see you guys talking about a honeymoon... is this before moving over? I never though of that... like before the wedding so waiting for AP don't affect us...hmmmmm

Ok, so I am calling the moving co. today..... they want $2k US to move my stuff sad.gif Trust me, I priced it out, called around....

And did I mention that I have to pay out my car before I leave? HAHA!

Ok, this is starting to sound like it belongs in 'The Vent' blush.gif SORRY! Don't kick me out, I just got here!!! HAHA! I wanna hang with the cool kids!

Ok, off to the gym.... after 4 days of pastries in MTL lol! I'm really looking forward to my 4 shot Americano....mmmmm

Have a good day!

Yeah the weather in Philly was SOOO warm this weekend! Saturday was wearing tee and shorts, had my first Rita's water ice, yum!! Today, back to rain and cold....

We didn't take a honeymoon, just because we want to take a cruise and obviously couldn't leave the US... we're going to do the cruise immediately after our wedding next year!

As for the move, have you considered Uhaul? It's considerably cheaper than movers, we had a 17 foot truck which fit all my stuff (I had alot too, it was packed).... It cost $700 plus fuel.... I drove my car and my fiancee followed behind in the Uhaul, he flew one way to Toronto and we left the next morning.... something to think about anyway, will save you $$.... You're coming from and to the same area as I....

Hubby & I have only spent one night in a hotel after our church blessing (then I moved to the US), and we've travelled to see family on all our time off for about 2.5 years and never really taken a holiday. Last summer we were going to go back to Bar Harbor (where we met), but Hubby got called away to work in Brunei, so we had to cancel those plans. SO.. we decided that it was high time for a honeymoon and booked a cheap hotel room on the beach for 3 days and 4 nights..

I asked hubby what we were going to do on vacation yesterday and he said " 3 things.. sleep late, walk the beach and snuggle in bed".. luv.gif He's a keeper.

Ok, can relax now. Just talked to Dad and he is safely back home. He had an uneventful two days of driving until about 50 miles away from home where he ran into traffic delays - took 1 1/2 hours to go 5 miles due to some sort of accident that had been cleared up by the time he reached the spot and only 9 police cars were left at the scene. His biggest calamity at home was he was out of milk (hehehehe) and that has now been resolved. It was great having him visit - he was here 9 days - and I am pleased to see him doing so well, especially at his age. Now, dental appointment for me tomorrow and then getting the stray tomcat neutered on Wednesday. Anyone want a cat? Hehehehe - he's super affectionate and will look a lot prettier once he stops worrying about being a tomcat and starts to look after himself again - solid gray, medium length hair - looks a little bit like a British Blue.

Glad to hear your Dad made it back home safe and sound! What a long drive for him to do on his own.

Tonight my husband is getting a treat, he loves Swiss Chalet and always wanted to go when he came to visit and he would order the "messy chicken sandwich" (for those of you that aren't familiar with SC it's toasted bread, warm chicken and then special sauce drizzled all over it) so when I moved here I stocked up on Chalet sauce! I'm going to surprise him and make a messy chicken sandwich, chalet style hahaha

Thats funny I have chalet sauce in my cupboard and I am making chicken next week for it! tongue.gif

Anyhoo I am making Pad Thai tonight. Mmm.

MMMM love pad thai. Do you put tofu/scrambled eggs/peanuts in yours? Love it!

Thanks all! I had a wonderful birthday, my husband took the day off work and we did some shopping, saw Marley and Me (great movie!!) And went to CPK. It was so good, I got a Tostada which is a Mexican Pizza, emmm yummy in my tummy. The best part of the dinner was me getting carded at the ripe old age of 29 it made me feel young tongue.gif
