IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedureshow long after I-30 Approval.

Hello all.

Yesterday my wife got the text message that the I-30 application has been approved. Finally after almost 5 months. This is great news!

However, I would like to know what is the time frame for all the paperwork after I30 approval, just to start planning before the interview and all that.

Please post in your latest experience.

Thanks in advance!

Congratulations

NVC 1 to 2 months + Consulate another 1 to 3 months.

Congratulations! :)

You may want to consult the VisaJourney guides for CR1 applicants (conditional permanent resident visa for spouse of U.S. Citizens; this is issued to spouses of US citizens who have been married less than 2 years): http://www.visajourn...tent/i130guide1

OP, Which Consulate your beneficiary goes for interview? Typically, Indian Consulates will assign the interview in 1.5 to 3 months time after NVC Case Completion.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedureshow long take k3

The K3 is dead, plus as you are married 2 years, the IR-1 is far superior, he'll get a ten year greencard upon entry. In theory, it shouldtake6-8 months, but Muslim men often get stuck in AP (security checks) after the interview.

my ask is :
how long it will take this k3 from time then i full it to my husband intrvw?
i ask this because i miss my men hmhmhm

Your best path is not K3.

You need to file IR1 for him. It can take around 8 months to a year. When he reaches the U.S, he will get Green Card.

So I think we are gonna mail it too. Do you think it is to much to ask for if we include both the DOB change along with the choice of agent ? Would make sense that they have both in their hands at the same time I'd say

Since I express mailed DOB correction package, I just included the hardcopy DS-3032 as well.

Well just hope that it will go fast from now and wont be slowed down any more. They said it does not make a difference if one emails or uses regular mail.
Oh well as soon as the AOS shows as paid(just paid) we will express mail the aos packages , and hope they wont need any more info.Thx guys

They told so :star:

They will also tell it would take 6 to 8 weeks to get your NVC Case# after I-130 approval. Did it take that long? :star:

True but just wanted to make sure,as even though we did everything correct so far they have a wrong DOB.So not to imagine if one was o make a mistake.
Thx

flyer10, As I told you I was also stuck in NVC error for my DOB entry. It took almost a week to correct it for me.

Sending an email to them will take 1 to 2 weeks to correct it. Without correction, you can't even talk to an NVC operator to check further details on your case file.

Well they told us just go ahead with everything as it might take a few weeks to correct. So I also send the passport copy with the choice of agent for by email again.
Can we go ahead and pay the AOS fee now ?

Yes you can pay and complete AOS package.

When DS-3032 is accepted, you will see IV invoice, then you can proceed that.

AOS fee you can pay when it is ready. It does not have any link with your DS-3032.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresSome help on Form G-325

I am filing an I-130 for my wife and wanted to know if both of us need to fill out form G-325A. For reference and less confusion I am a US citizen and was wondering if I also need to send out this G-325. I searched on the forum but came up with different answers. This is what has me confused on whether or not I should send one also.

This is what it says:

What Documents Do You Need to Prove Family Relationship?

You have to prove that there is a family relationship between you and your relative. If you are filing for:
What Documents Do You Need to Prove Family Relationship?
1. A husband or wife, submit the following documentation:

D. A completed and signed Form G-325A, Biographic Information, for you and a Form G-325A for your husband or wife. Except for your name and signature you do not have to repeat on Form G-325A the information given on your Form I-130 petition.

The underlined part is whats confusing me. So do I need to send one also or not?

USC petitioner will complete one and the beneficiary will complete one.

I put 3 weeks in our first I-130 process and our marriage was just 6 weeks before that. Our I-130 was approved in 3.5 months time without any RFE.

Also, this time I put 2 weeks and it was approved in 2.5 months time.

Section 21...give last address at which you lived together....

We stayed together for 2 weeks during our wedding and honeymoon....so do we use this as the last lived together address for the two weeks i was in karachi? I dont want to lie about living togehter but at the same time...i dont want to lie we totally and happily lived together for two weeks!!

Thanks!!

You can put those 2 weeks as the last address you lived together.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresI have 2 questions about whole process

i was reading this forum today and found some info here http://www.visajourn...p/EZGuideSpouse about all cr1 visa process....

but 2 things are not clear to me.

first is - it says " Be proactive with NVC to speed up the things, email NVCINQUIRY@state.gov to provide both the petitioner and beneficiary email ,Email DS-3032 ..... )

So does it mean i have to take this steps before USCIS says so? If i do that, can that mess up something? Im hesitant to do something i was not to do so. and what if i send email to USCIS with DS-3032 and after that receive in the mail same request from them? do i send it again?

Second (and most important) - i read about IV Packet which containts 2 Passport-sized photographs of the beneficiary,Completed and signed form DS-230 Part 1 by the beneficiary ETC...

So is it me (US citizen, petitioner) who needs to send it to USCIS? Or my wife (currently in europe) ? If its my wife, where she send it? to US ambassy?

thanx

Which stage of IR1/CR1 process are you? also, please update your timeline too.

i did i filled out my timeline
so when can i be with my husband after paying the iv fee bill
1/2 months? do u have any idea?

After IV fee payment, you need to mail the IV package to NVC.

Hope you guys already mailed the AOS package.

Then NVC has to review both packages. It might take 2 to 4 weeks.

After that, NVC will schedule the interview at your U.S Consulate. It can happen in 1.5 to 3 months time.

If you pass the interview, you will get the visa on the passport.

Then you have to buy the airline ticket.

Then you can reach your husband in the U.S.

Hope this helps out.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresJoint Sponsor I-864 for Immigrant Visa Application
ChaseCallen,

Hi everyone! Hope y'all are doing well. I found out, through one of the VJ members here, that in calculating the income of a petitioner who works in the military, only the basic pay (excluding the BAS and BAH) minus the taxes, medicare and social security will be considered. My husband has three dependent children from his previous marriage. Following this formula, he is a little short for the 100% poverty guideline with a household of 5 (himself, his 3 kids, and me). So we consider having a co-sponsor. Now these are my questions:

-I am aware that the co-sponsor should be a domicile in the US. Is it okay if our co-sponsor is living in a different state? He is my brother and an LPR. What should he present to prove that he's a domicile there? Would a copy of his green card be enough?
LPR can be co-sponsor (Include his GC copy). Living at a diff. state is fine. To prove his domicile, his income tax reutrns and GC copy would be good enough.

-As of today we are still waiting for our NOA2. I know that the petitioner's affidavit of support will be submitted to the NVC. Do we also have to submit the co-sponsor's AOS to the NVC too? If yes, will it cost another $88? Can I bring co-sponsor's requirements during the interview instead? On what stage of this entire process that we are required for a co-sponsor?
You need petitioner's I-864 and co-sponsor's I-864 together. There is only one fee for review AOS package which is $88 currently. At NVC stage, you need co-sponsor's AOS too.

I will greatly appreciate any information regarding this matter. Thank you so much. :)

Rosey, that is not a bad idea at all!

Though I personally don't recommend the lawyer for straighforward immigration matters, sometimes lawyers (good ones!) are really helpful to handle complex matters that are beyond our control.

It is worth to spend some money for a good lawyer in your case.

Uh Oh :o . I just mailed my papers but I did not mark which one is original. I did make color copies so they all look alike. I hope i won't get an RFE just because of that. Some of the originals (marriage cert, Police report) has photos attached, so its easy to differenciate. Hopefully they are smart enough to figure that out.

I am another person who sends bare min. documents that are absolutely required.

Having said this, it all depends on the country where the applicant is from and other factors as well. So, including more secondary evidences is totally up to the satisfaction of the filer.

Every case is unique!

 Good point Loto! Canada is not a high fraud country and most filers are fine with a minimum of evidence at the I-130 petition phase. However, you need to be comfortable with your submission regardless of what others have done.
