IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	Has anyone had AP after consulate asked to send passport in?	I don't know if they stamped the visa on his passport or not yet. Im sure though, that the passport has reached the consulate by now. The applicants who are from the West Bank get thier passports with thier visas back through Aramex. I do know for a fact that they also pay around 18 US dollars delivery fee. I emailed the consulate about my question concerning my husbands currant visa status and if he has been really approved or not. It wouldn't make any sense to think that he isn't actually approved, after he recived a call from the consulate telling him that he was. maybe its a good thing they asked for his passport If you don't pay $18 to Aramex, the passport will be held there forever. Oh yea and hold up.. if the guy over at DOS told me that on his computer it shows that "passport was requested", doesnt that also mean that they DID in fact update thier system here in Jerusalem??? If they wrote they had requested the passport, they could have wrote approved.. OMG THIS IS SOO FRUSTRATING... hopenfaith, The sync-ing between the Consulate data and the DOS database might not happen. Wait few more days to get accurate result. Since they have stamped visa on the passport and it has a validity of 5 months, this issue will be rectified very soon. Also, just confirm if the Consulate or any "other agent" delivers the passport with visa back to the applicant. If it is the agent, applicant has to most probably pay the delivery fee too. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	Question about addresses	Hello all you kind people I've just realised something that I'm afraid may cause issues. I have just mailed my G-325A to my wife in the US in preparation for sending our I-130 application. In the section that asks for all addresses lived in for the past 5 years, I included only my permanent address (the address I have lived in my whole life and my mailing address) however, I have also stayed in college dorms in other cities on 2 occasions. Should I have included these addresses too? (Even though I would frequently return home to my permanent address) I also looked at the DS-230 and it too asks for all addresses lived in for 6 months since turning age of 16. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	Lead time to get Visa after Interview	Hi, Can anyone say what is the lead time to collect the passport after an immigrant visa interview. How many days are required between the interview date and the travel. Thanks for the information. First of all most (more than 90%) people will be approved and granted the visa on the same day of the interview. Check with VFS if you can do counter collection of the passport from them. If possible, it will be ready on the day of the interview or the next day at VFS counter. If not, VFS will courier (Blue Dart) the passport to the address mentioned in DS-230. If you live in city area, it should arrive in 3 to 4 business days time. If in remote area, you need to go to the Blue Dart office in the town to pick it up. So, if visa is granted on the same day of the interview, you are good to travel in 1 week time. Having said this, I don't recommend to book the tickets in advance. What does that mean? who touched what? This is 353rd time I am typing what is a touch, but you are hearing it first time. So no problem (Just kidding) When you have Receipt#, you can create an account with USCIS website and register this Receipt#. There is a column "Last Updated Date" which will tell you when USCIS last updated your case. It's sweet name is "touch". A touch doesn't mean your case is not looked at yet. It may be reviewing behind the scene, but they forgot to update the system. I was wondering now how will I know when the NVC will generate my case number. Will they generate it and contact me or should I call them to find out if it has been generated. It has been more than 5 months and 3 weeks since i sent my I-130, since im doing this process with a lawyer i decided to have him call USCIS to find out what is going on with my case. mind you that i have not gotten a RFE not a single update what so ever. So today my lawyer e-mailed me saying that my I-130 has been approved on OCT 12, how weird is this? today is the 21st and status on the webpage stills the same. I have not yet received my NOA2 by mail nor any type of notice from USCIS. Should i have my wife call USCIS to find out whats going on since is the one petitioning me? Some advise will be helpful. I saw the forms both list on the uscis's website, which on i supposed the use? What the difference of these two forms? Can anyone help? I-864 is the regular AOS whereas I-864EZ is the shorter version. To qualify I-864EZ, ALL the below must meet: 1. You are the person who filed or is filing the Form I-130, Petition for Alien Relative, for a relative being sponsored; 2. The relative you are sponsoring is the only person listed on the Form I-130 petition; 3. The income you are using to qualify is based entirely on your salary or pension and is shown on one or more Forms W-2 provided by your employer(s) or former employer(s). Using my own employment income, I do not meet the 125% guidelines for my household size. BUT, I do receive a significant amount of child support from my ex. If included as "income", I would meet the guidelines. Since child support is not taxable to me, it is not reported on my tax returns. BUT, I do have my divorce decree/agreement stating the amount of child support I get. Will that be able to be used as support? Yes, child support can be added to the regular income to meet the poverty line. My NVC case number was assigned on 10/15 and I called NVC on 10/18 and gave both beneficiary and petitioner email adddress. Beneficiary sent DS-3032 email to NVC on 10/19. When I called NVC last night to inquire if they received DS-3032 by now, the lady told me that I am not supposed to send any form until they are generated on the NVC system and they send it to us. The forms sent before NVC generating it might get rejected. How true is that? Should I send DS-3032 again when NVC sends me the form by email? And when should I expect AOS fee bill? NVC lady told me that it will take 2-4 weeks to receive documents from NVC. Is that right? Thanks ! Yes, sending DS-3032 before they generate the DS-3032 email is not good. But it is ok too. I did it. When IIN is generated, send another DS-3032 too. It is not a big deal. IIN email with AOS invoice can be expected 1 to 2 weeks after NVC case# generation. It is good idea to find out an immigration attorney who speaks your language (Arabic). There are many and you can google it.
