This is good I'm glad. I did my fingerprint 1 week ago. Tell me what priority date did you get...? Mine is January 31, 2011.

Thanks for your help
There are two options. The cheapest one where they just drop it in the mailbox or the other one- the one I used-that requires proof of signature where they keep it in the post office and drop the notice in the mailbox so that someone has to show up at the post office window sign and pick it up. I paid about 7.60. Are you able to verify if someone indeed sign it?

No i didnt send it with "signature required" i had an issue with that 4 years ago.

Yes I know I paid like 5.60 and told me it would take 2-3 days. Not at home to loook at the receipt but I choose the cheapest option since I was in no rush.

Hope this helped.

I did use 75266 even though 75222 shows on the status. I called and a USPS agent told me in her system it reads 75266

You should check your status... my package was delivered yesterday.

Is there anyway USCIS might pick it up but USPS fails to update the status?

Well I think they (USPS) puts USCIS's mails in thier p.o. box or other storage in bulk and they pick them up but i cant say for certain since it has been 7+ days for you and still no answer. I'm going to connect with the main post office here in my area and ask how they would deal with such a case since there's a office here for uscis/dhs. I'm not in a great rush as i have no one now or in the future to petition for I just wanna know.

not sure why yours show that.. mine is as seen below..

Incorrect zip code, what was the full address you used?

The correct zip code is 75266.

Inky allow me to ask.. the CSR at USPS said that since a notice was left they (uscis) should know to pick up the package. You think this would go through or should I reschedule it for delivery say Monday/Tuesday..?

Today is the 30th.I used priority to sent my N-400 form.
I'm starting to worry It's been more than a week now.
When I check the status this is what I get.
We attempted to deliver your item at 11:09 am on January 22, 2011 in DALLAS, TX 75222 and a notice was left because an authorized recipient was not available. You may arrange redelivery by visiting www.usps.com/redelivery or calling 800-ASK-USPS, or may pick up the item at the Post Office indicated on the notice. If this item is unclaimed after 15 days then it will be returned to the sender. Information, if available, is updated periodically throughout the day. Please check again later.
Any idea?

I dont know if it is because it was the weekend. BUT i sent my N400 to Dallas, TX 75266 on Thursday, Jan. 27 and they tried to deliver it Yesterday and i got the same message that you saw online. I immediately tried to contact the post office at their phone number but the line is shut down. I contacted customer service but was of no assistance.

US Citizenship General DiscussionRestrictions before filing?

I was told by friends that filed for citizenship that I can't leave the US 90 days before I submit my application. I've heard this so many times from other people but I can't find this in the instructions. Is there such a restriction?

No there is no such restriction.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionConfused - everyone is saying diff things - I-134 income levels?
The confusion comes from the fact that each consulate seems to apply different standards to it. While the I 134 itself calls for 100%, many consulates - London included - still look for the 125% to be satisfied. The logic being that the 125% will have to be in place once the immigrant enters the US and is adjusting status (via the I 864). So being a London-ite, then yes, I'd line up a joint sponsor.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionMarital Status question

You'd best seek the advice from other PI filers. You'll likely get some debate from others.

My first marriage was annuled after we were divorced. Technically an annulment is retroactive so in the "Church State" you may be considered single - never married, however in the "legal state" I always discclose it as being divorced as I do not believe that the US government considers annulment when relevant to legal proceedings.

I say this based on past personal experience and not on factual law.

The PI pooks at things differently so I'd take the advice of others who have gone through the Manilla consulate to see how they answered the question.

Good point. The experiences I had heard lead me to my answer above, but London is London and Manila is Manila.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionMarital Status question
We don't have the forms in front of us (nor do you even tell us which exact one you're referring to).

If there's not an 'annulled' option, is there an 'other' option where you can write annulled? If not, I would select 'divorced' and write out 'annulled' above it/beside it to eliminate confusion.

But obviously, single (never married) or separated do not apply.

You've answered your own question. Annulled. Obviously that is the only option that is valid in your situation, right?

It doesn't sound like they're going to allow you to transfer your case - or really do anything until they clear up whatever is 'problematic' to it. So I don't think you really have that option.

USCIS shouldn't try to tell you what DOS will want. I would esp. question that advice if you got it from the 800 (MIS)information line.

London (and most all other consulates) use the I 134 for K visas.
