Philippinescan anyone apply K1 Visa when theyve just met each other online not 2 months now?

I have a friend that just met his lady online and met in person for not even two months this time. They are applying for K1 Visa this time, im wondering if its possible they will be approved?????is it real possible?? will evidences of communicating each other will be good enough? or there's just another way around to make them be approved?

Can anyone there share to me their thoughts about this situation?

They can file.. but after two months of knowing/meeting someone ... but geez you'd think they'd wanna slow it down a bit just makes for a stronger case.

PhilippinesPASSPORT EXPIRING IN MAY - TRIP IN MARCH
- mitch -

You have a green card you are not subjected to this because you are not given a "time limit" upon entering the usa. And airport/airline officials should not even bring it up.

PhilippinesPASSPORT EXPIRING IN MAY - TRIP IN MARCH
Throw the entry requirement-s pot the window. That does not apply to residents of THAT country. Now what happens should the airline official - agent be told the traveller has no plans to return to the usa... A round trip ticket is still required? naaah.

PhilippinesPASSPORT EXPIRING IN MAY - TRIP IN MARCH

Now i know that i can always get free, fast, and accurate answers from my VJ family.

MY passport is expiring MAY 3, 2011 and i am going back to the Philippines MARCH 21 till APRIL 25. would it be a possible problem since my passport is about to expire? is there any way i can expedite the renewal of my passport here in the US (consular office in LA)? or is it okay to renew my passport when i get to the Philippines?

Thank you VJ family for helping me with all these.... thanks much!

HEY mitch... This is what I think. If you are travelling to a country thay you are a national/citizen of and you are a passport holder of that country then you won't have a problem meeting the entry requirements the same way a us citizen or green card holder would be allowed entry into the usa. For the us citizen with the expired/expiring passport he/she would have no issues... For the green card holder... If they make it to the border with out a passport, expired, or expiring passport then they would be allowed entry since the GC is all that's required.

Hope u will get more answers... Safe travel.

PhilippinesIs my relationship hopeless??????

Right the NOA1 is nothing BUT....

She signed a document in that packet G325A stating that she was single.

He signed the petition stating that they were both free to marry.

So while the NOA1 doesn't have requirements in and of itself there are requirements to receive a NOA1.

Meeting those requirements in this situation means that they both signed falsified documents.

Philippines is not the most safe country to just 'move to'.

I hope you can find a good attorney to help you with this case, because it is so complicated. Don't give up!

As an option - she can file for divorce in Germany. Since he is citizen of Germany, they definately have jurisdiction over such case. My fiancee was married in Denmark, but filed for divorce in Germany, while living in Ukraine, without even being present there. Divorcing in Germany - is long process, though. I would suggest to find an attorney in Germany, who is familiar with international law in her country (lookup on google, etc.), and consult with that attorney, she will see all options available to her in this situation.

thought she wasnt able to be there in person

So, NO your relationship is not hopeless.....just can not have her immigrate to the US just now.

PhilippinesWhat exactly do i need to send I-864? I-134
Robert,

I know this is stressful...we are going thru the same thing right now...The one thing you have to do is stop and breathe...If you go through this stuff too quickly, you are likely to make mistakes. ALL of the packet 3's are now just a letter that sends you to the specific website of the embassy. All the you need to know and the forms she needs to download are on there. I am familiar with the UK somewhat because that is where my fiance is so I am not going to tell you something wrong in case her embassy is different. The I-134 is required. You need to download the forms and get all of the necessary paperwork together. UPS has a good rate to overnight documents only so that you can get it to get as soon as you can. She will have to fill out all of the forms and send them into the embassy. There should be a checklist that she will send in as well that lets the embassy know that she is ready for the interview or atleast that is the case in the UK. Until she sends that in, they will not schedule the interview, so that will give you some time to get her the documents you need to get to her...Also, there are forums on here that are broken down by region. Go through them for her region and read as much as you can...there are people who have been through the process there that can help. I know this is stressful...just take your time...it will be okay...Atleast that is what I keep telling myself that...

I don't know if I dare to become US Citizen. I am from Denmark and they don't accept dual

Technically the UK doesn't either - they do not officially recognize dual citizenship. However, unless you specifically denounce your UK citizenship, you can have both. I'd be surprised if Denmark doesn't have a similar rule in place.

I guess best would be to have both Citizenships because than I can work in 28 countries (EU has 27 right now). Just the idea makes me happy. But you are right, a US Citizen has a lot less problems just going to other countries. It is more a feeling on where I was born and grew up. It is not a pair of socks to change that Citizenship.

I guess I've never seen gaining US citizenship as some kind of a 'slight' on your home country (nor does my UK hubby). You'll always be German no matter what any piece of paper says. All citizenship does is grease the wheels for your travels, as well as opening up avenues for you and your spouse to move back and forth between Germany and the US (if it ever becomes necessary) without further cost and grief.

congress man - maybe we do that, I'm just so tired of dealing with that, I have other things to do and the whole process took so long for us, I'm dealing with this since 5 years more or less

How does becoming a US citizen prevent you from being a 'world traveler'?

Agreed. Worst case, just file for natz when you're eligible - it'll force adjudication of the I 751.

when filing N-400, they request some evidence, but it is very limited when you mail the app. So if you deliver and get the birth certificate ready before applying, it is one of the items listed as evidence with N-400. So, you can use it to tease your husband by saying: not only your child was a citizen before you, but he also helped you with your citizenship :D

Right - that's what I thought you meant but was just making sure I was following along. :)

sh18 - the only reason I am excited about natz is actually going through the process again. I'm sad that way. ;)

Though I have been speaking with a local attorney about helping her get immigration law going in her practice. She is still getting up to speed and is interested in hiring me as a consultant once things get going. It's my one ray of hope. :D :D

you can send the birth certificate with your N-400 application, I am sure you already know all this and maybe already decided to do that....

But even those whose 'cases last forever' can solve their problem by filing for natz (which will force I 751 adjudication). I've never understood nervously awaiting ROC either - as long as you have your letter extending your status, big whoop. Unless maybe you've not planned on naturalizing.

And Tonyeck - yes the online system/emails are crazy!!!

It's not a matter of "nervously" waiting but annoyance at the random and unfair nature of how USCIS processes these applications. There is a concept called "due process" in the US legal/political system and something is very wrong with the due process at USCIS when some applications are being processed months ahead of others in the same service center. Let's take some specific examples:

CHERYLANDMIKE......08/10/09..........08/11/09................09/04/09............09/18/09
GARYC..............08/03/09..........08/10/09................09/03/09............09/23/09
SPRINTSCORER.......08/13/09..........08/24/09................08/31/09............09/25/09

and ours:

SIRLANCELOT/.......08/13/09..........08/17/09................09/16/09............__/__/__

It's now 12/11/09 and still nothing. If you were at a restaurant being seated at about the same time with others and your party ends up being served 5 hours later than most others, you and your party would be pretty annoyed as well. You wouldn't be nervous, but annoyed.

People have every right to be annoyed when they are ostensibly being treated unfairly. Keep your cavalier, snide disregard for others' concerns to yourself. You have no right to belittle other people's concerns.

This thread is specifically suited for fellow members to vent their frustrations while going through this frustrating ordeal.

Never did I say people had no right to be annoyed - of course they do. I was summarily as annoyed in the I 129f petition phase when people who filed a month after I had were being approved. Its obvious that they don't have all their ducks in a row, and it IS frustrating and maddening.

I guess what I was trying to say is that had I been in this position for ROC, I'd be less annoyed than I was during the I 129f - mostly because I am not as attached to the final outcome. But everyone is welcome to be as upset about it as they want to be. Was just expressing an alternative point of view.
