K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsUSCIS case status updating
Case statuses online are definitely NOT always accurate and/or updated properly. There a bunch of folks here whose cases were approved, but the status online never changed.

So don't take it as the gospel. You were right, though, to call and follow up (in this particular example).

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNOA2: Now what?

And when you call NVC, they'll ask for your fiance's name and birtday. Montreal included the forms that the petitioner needed to fill out. I know they are particular that you use their forms(I-134) etc.

All consulates are different in that regard. London doesn't send the I 134 at all - they just tell you that you need it.

Best to wait and see what your consulate sends your fiance. If no I 134 is sent, then download your own.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNOA2: Now what?
1.) Yes, but I'd keep the original NOA2. Send your fiance just a photocopy. Obviously the I 134 will need to be an original (as well as notarized).

2.) You can call the NVC (there is a forum here for the NVC - the number is in one of the pinned topics). Best to call early in their morning or at midnight. They are on Eastern time.

3.) I'd wait until AT LEAST a week after NOA2 to call NVC, although lately its taking longer than that for them to get it. Hopefully they can tell you then that they have it, what the new case number is, and when it left them - all in one phone call. If not, call them back soon after you get the new case number and surely by then they can tell you when it left there.

PhilippinesI'm very nervous about my plane ride
Ok, if u have a confirmation and a full paid ticket then you won't need money....unless u talking about misssing flights/connections and the airline/s is not willing to help. Never travelled to japan our through the philippines but international travels are just the same. I go to jamaica and dominican republic every six months. Just allow some time to check in at the philippines airport I'm assuming the total travel time might be about 15-20 hours...... You ll need maybe about $30.00 USD for food unless u plan on eating more than than 3 full meals for the duration of ur trip and with the lil meal/s u might get from philippines to japan and the long leg from japan to US. When u get into the US just plan to chill out with those immigration officers while they fix u up with your paper work. Be sure to Have some foood to eat then... bring a book if u enjoy reading or anything of interest. The POE process the packets on a first come basis while prospective immigrants wait their slow movements behind the counters.

Detriot to chicago I'm assuming would be just about an hour flight, if that. Just a hop just use that time to sleep energize your self do u can go give your hubby all the details of yur trip.

I'm glad you are not flying though atlanta or new york....go figure. Delta is a fairly g ood airline with being ontime. Have fun when u travel and hey... Welcome to america....lol don't get surprised. You'll have a blast....

PhilippinesWHEN CAN YOU APPLY N400

I got this answer from my dads' immigration email

Hello Jonah, it is possible to apply for citizenship 2 year and 9 months from the initial date you received conditional permanent residence, which should be printed on your permanent residence card.

Best,
jsurowitz@eastbayvisalaw.com
WWW.EASTBAYVISALAW.COM

But lost girl... I did answer that question earlier this morning. Your dad however did confirm it all. The 2 year and 9 months is the same as the "90 day" mark we spoke of prior the anniversary or issue date.

PhilippinesWHEN CAN YOU APPLY N400

great answer =] ..now, out of curiosity in any event u didnt file for n400 during that time? and the 10 year green card passed. do you have to refile removal of condition again? or how does it work? thanks

NOT certain if I understand correct of i am wrong.

You did not file for the N-400 during the 90 days leading up to the 3 year mark? What do you mean the 10 year green card has passed..?

If you have a green card that was issued for 10 years than you can apply for the N400 anytime. When You hit say 4 years.. you can still apply based on the initial 3 year mark when you hot 5 year mark... you can just take the 5 year rule.

You're only able to remove your condition once. IF say it was not removed when you should have filed then that would mean you are out of status.

You can Apply for the N-400 based on marriage if you have been married to the same US Citizen for 3 years and this can be DONE 90 days before the 3 year issue date of the green card which may read "Residence Since"

PhilippinesPetition Son to US

There is 1 and he is 19 now and unmarried
not sure were to start and which form to file is it similar in filing K1 visa ?
my wife{FILPINA}became a legal resident in 2009 we had a baby and her son just finish school year and need additional help in the family
so we would like to partition him

your time lines says you were married. in 2007 .. is this the marrige that included the currrent 19 year old..? I ask because in order for you to petition the 19 y/o the marriage had to take place prior to his/her 18th birthday

If you were married to his mother prior to his 18th Birthday.. you are elegible to petition for him using the I-130.. it's different from the K-1 visa... as he would be required to compelete the entire process back home.

PhilippinesNEED HELP FROM VJ MEMBERS WITH INTERVIEW EXPERIENCE

They should just answer the question truthfully: Just write the name of the person paying and their relationship.

"ANY ANSWER" is not appropriate, i.e., what if they put "George W. Bush - former President of the United States" as their answer? What if they say that their fiance is paying for it when in fact their parents are paying for it? How is this neither right nor wrong?

George

and if they put george bush i'm sure he/she would be questioned... now if the question reads.. " who will pay for the trip....." and they know it is being paid for by the spouse for example then hello.. you put the appropriate answer there.. that's easy said and done

Thanks for all the answers and information everyone. A & I are glad we are covered for now.

Also, FYI: We'll be getting the medical stuff done in Frankfurt, Germany and not in Manila - as we are doing a "DCF" in Frankfurt. It will be costly (EUROS) for sure :) With or without vaccinations....

No need to be concerned except you will have to pay the full medical cost to be vaccinated

Can anyone there share to me their thoughts about this situation?

They can file.. but after two months of knowing/meeting someone ... but geez you'd think they'd wanna slow it down a bit just makes for a stronger case.
