Suzie, so glad Luis is finally here and it sounds like you are all adjusting well. Lauren, good luck to your love on Thursday. I will keep my fingers crossed that you get a CO that wakes up on the right side of the bed and is fair. We are still preparing for our garden ceremony on Saturday morning. It's a lot more work than we wanted, especially after all we've been through, but it will be wonderful to celebrate our union with our family and friends. We should be right at peak fall color here in North Central Mass this weekend. I just hope it's not too cold. One good thing about doing all of this again in 6 months... if we don't get it all right this time...we'll get another shot at it. Really, it just wont feel totally complete without Russell's family there to join with mine. Russell is working p/t for now until his EAD comes through and the headhunters can place him in a job in his field. We plan on filing for AOS within a week or two. Still not been to the social security office. I guess we'll add that to our 'to-do' list this week too. All these months/years of waiting and now everything feels so rushed. How weird that is. I'd opt for the 2+ hour wait only because i'm impatient. Russell had only a couple of hours at LAX before his connecting flight to Boston and what held him up was that he was still on the watch list from being denied entry. Ended up making the flight... just. Congratulations Dale and Alyona! Very happy for you. Well we sold our souls to my aunts jewelery store this morning and my family has taken over preparations for our ceremony next week so all is well. Now.... what to wear???? Consulates will routinely extend this period without much hassle or any paperwork on your part but usually due to their not being able to interview in that time frame. If you're going to go beyond the 4 months until his interview you will most likely need to file for an extension with the Consulate. Good luck. Suzy, congrats hon!! How wonderful it is to see everyone moving along. I'm curious to the outcome of the interviews happening this week so you guys do come in and keep us posted please! We want to hear all about it! Here's a pic of our rings for those who have asked. My aunt begged and pleaded and her vender promised they'll be in by the night before our wedding. Cutting it close! It's nice that he will be able to slip that ring on my finger after our vows to each other. As most of you know, in April we're having our big party in our back yard (are you all saving your pennies? ) but we've decided to have this ceremony there as well. We're going to be married at 11am and have a brunch following. Our small intimate ceremony has turned into an event with somewhere between 50-100 people (so far). These are the closest people to us so it's quite alright. More family friends are having a party for us that afternoon at a neighborhood pub as well so it looks like a full day of celebration with the people who love us most. K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports	APRIL '08 Vermont K-1 Filers	Good morning friends. Yes, my love is here back in my arms where he belongs. It was not easy getting him here as it seems we hit every stumbling block along the way! First, he realized when checking in that he had booked the wrong day and had already missed his flight... after shelling out another $1800NZ for a new ticket he was finally on his way. Upon arriving in LA and going through immigration he found out that he was still on the watch list for having been denied entry last year, so they made him wait around while they cleared that up....tick, tick...tick... Because of this, he had to sprint to his next flight and when he got there the doors were shut. After a bit of begging and pleading they opened the doors back up and let him on the plane to Boston. I was waiting anxiously for him on the other side... pacing the floors of Logan airport B terminal as I had done many times before, just waiting as everyone else exited the plane.. (of course, he was one of the last!). Once I saw him coming through the doors everything was finally ok again... after all this time, all this struggle, all this heartache we've all been put through all on account of doing things the 'right way'... everything just fell into place. We made it! We almost feel as tho the limbo we've been in for the last year never happened... although it will effect us forever, it's as though it was all just a blur and a blink in time. It was as though we were never apart at all. We spent the next three days in each others arms just soaking each other up. We returned home on Saturday to welcome home signs posted all over our home by friends... sweet. Yesterday we had a couple of parties to attend and caught up with some others. So it's been a whirlwind but all good. We go to see the JP on Wednesday night. Still not sure where we'll be married but it will be on October 18th (we think). We've both been just so overwhelmed with this whole process that we want this part to be short, simple and sweet. We'll plan something more for April when his family is here. I know some of you are still stuck in limbo, redoing this and waiting on that.... it's stressful for sure. But you are all so close and when you're finally 'there'... none of this will matter because you will be where you are supposed to be.... in each others arms for good...and there is nothing that can take away from that. Check the fine print...sometimes you can cancel the return and use it at a later date. It was cheaper for us to buy one way.... well, it was until we had to pay for two flights. He is now about 1/2 way between NZ and the west coast of the U.S.! Damian, we were toying with the idea of making it Monday but wanted to give it another day or two so we were certain his visa would be in hand and that his family was available to see him off. All I can think is that he hit the back button on the browser and it booked him for Monday and he didn't notice. We've been so crazy with all the last minute stuff that neither one of us really looked at the itinerary. Our bad. He booked it through expedia.co.nz and I don't think he fought very hard for a break on the fare (probably mostly out of shock)...perhaps we'll call AA once he's home and settled and see if they'll do something. This whole process just has us in a mess. He just text me from the airport and informed me that he had to buy a new ticket. Expedia wont even give him a break. $1800NZ more to have him arrive an hour and a half earlier... we best make that extra time good, eh? Ahhhh perspective... he's coming home! Kirk, I think you would fit in quite well with my family! Bunch of crazy proud Italians with the biggest hearts you'll ever find. It's Wednesday in New Zealand and in just a few short hours my love will be boarding his first of 3 planes on his way home to me. He really is like a child at Christmas texting me with countdowns all day. So cute. He's only got two hours in LAX so we're keeping our fingers crossed he lands early and has time to make his connection. In our ten years of travels back and forth, we've not had a problem (knocking on wood) but we know it happens. Good luck with the birth certificate! Congrats Nicola! Feels good, no? Mom and I paid $2600+ r/t to travel in January this year. Painful, it is! When we travelled to London (in our VWP travels) we paid less than 1,500 r/t for both of us and that included hotel. Priceline (name your own price). Nice to hear from you Nich. I'm so glad things are working themselves out for you in all the chaos. Your attitude is great! We just do what we have to do and it will all work out. So, I checked and saw an email with subject line including I-129F and my case number..... One word that jumped right out to me when I opened that email was that big APPROVED.... I hope your tushy is too! You are so right about motherhood! My son was just two when he broke his femur (largest bone in the body / thigh) and he had to go into a full body cast for 8 weeks! Now he's a real boy's boy...(hehehe it was purple and had a hole cut out for his tushy and diaper) but he simply tripped over a basketball and turned it wrong. So, it can happen even if they're not climbing trees. I'm with you tho... let them climb!... but never stop saying 'be careful'. Nothing is easy. pattilou, I can't understand if you're saying he sent it in last week ...or in April. If it was April i'd send another packet to them with the note as Liam and Sam suggested. Russell's family, who are all so wonderful, yet scattered a bit, own a couple of amazing properties right on the ocean in NZ and we even have a home to stay in there but he is coming here because of my family. We all still live within a couple of miles of each other and see each other regularly! I actually own the home my mother grew up in on the street named after my family, where many of them still live! We've been through a lot and as much as I love NZ, I can't imagine being away from them right now. Besides, i'm a HUGE sports fan and Boston is title town!!! Have a safe trip to see your family. I'm sure it will be tough for you all but we live in a world where we are connected to each other no matter where we are so happy thoughts along the way! Thank you for the well wishes as well. I'm in no way a doctor but you did say you were sick with the flu shortly before your xray. That infection creates fluid that blocks the alveoli and makes the fluid build up around your lungs. I've had pneumonia and that build up takes a while to go away...even when I was feeling much better it was there. IMO...It would explain their concern and the need for additional images on your lungs. Again, it's just a guess on my part and i'm sure you've considered it but perhaps being reminded will help ease your tension a bit. The only thing you have control over right now is your own attitude. I can only imagine how difficult it is just considering all there is to think about but for now... try your best to keep that positive energy flowing! It could be anything... but it's also likely that this is nothing but another bump in the road and that next week this will all just be a horrible memory for you and you can be on to rejoicing and celebrating as you should be!!
