It seems sporadic so I guess it's not that they're holding pallets like they were a few months back. Just a few here and there???? I hope those of you waiting and lighting a fire under someone's @ss! Andrea, leaving each other is the absolute worse! I feel for you. I suppose it's a little easier when you're not as far away. But $2,600 r/t flights...20+ hours of just flight time... and that tragic 'goodbye'... I just couldn't do it again. one of the things that keeps me going most is that moment he walks back through those gates at Logan and into my arms...forever this time! I hope the next few days bring you peace. Don... many people will get a touch after a call. Still feels good I bet! I do hope CSC picks up for you guys this week! You must keep in mind that when looking at all the stats here on VJ that it is SUCH a small percentage of actual filers. Someone last year figured it to be about 5% of all petitioners based on USCIS stats. Also, people are joining VJ all the time, creating new timelines that adds to your 'estimated date'. It means nothing as far as uscis time so try not to put too much faith in what the estimation says. Especially when you're so close. If you do the DHL trick and look to see how many petitions are actually sent off to USEM each and every day... you will see they are still moving. Being a VSC filer, and a bit stir-crazy myself , I went over the first 20 couples on Igor's VJ database and found most of those have either not even been here in a month or two, have been approved and just didnt update their timeline or are waiting on RFE's. Only 2 that I saw 'legitimately' still 'waiting'. Also, as aravis stated, CSC has this history of not updating the website recently and many people were finding they were approved only by checking their snail mail! There are a far greater number of petitions filed than what you see here on VJ but even your VJ timeline (measured from VJ data) is saying March. You shouldn't have too much longer to wait but you are well within current processing times. I wouldn't worry. You do not need to rush to be sure the aos paperwork is in before the I-94 expires. Especially if you will married just before it expires. We're still procrastinating about AOS. Since we're stuck between the new TB requirement we're debating on whether or not to send everything without the test and hope for the best or get a free test from the health dept and send the results. We were waiting to see if anyone got RFE'd and how it was all playing out but I think we'll just bite the bullet and hope for the best. Boy will it be good to be done with that! Raff, yes there are a lot of crazy people here but there is also a wonderful mix of good people and interesting cultures. I think it's all in how you look at it. If you have any issues or see anything that maybe shouldn't be there just report it to one of the moderators or pm me. Still planning on travelling the 20th??? It's unbelieveably frustrating to me how many people there are in this 'field' that really just dont even know what they're talking about! I'm sure there are exceptions to this but the reality seems to be that most do not know or care...and even worse, don't have the compassion to deal with those of us already going through a difficult time. Address or Consulate changes should be easy enough to take care of but they really do seem to cause so much hassle for people. You will need to visit the website for the State/County in which you will marry and find out how to apply for a lisence and how long it might take. Raff... hope you're home soon! Sorry i'm just getting here now but, as you can imagine, life has been a little nuts since our special day on Saturday. The day turned out just great. Our guest list of 20 turned into about 60-80 people but it was quite nice to share our day with those we love. We had just beautiful fall colors and the sun was shining bright so not too cold either. We were in a mad rush all morning and I was barely dressed when the JP arrived. The ceremony was real short. We wrote our own vows which were just so touching. We then spent the entire day and night with family and friends. Was a long, loooong day.... but quite lovely. We are both quite happy it's over with ....until we do it again in 6 months anyway. Russell's family got up at 4am-SUN NZ time (11am US time Sat) to toast us as we said our vows.... so sweet we thought. Hopefully i'll get a picture or two up for you very soon.
