I'd call DOS today and let them know. I assume they would just get the packet back at the Embassy and resend it when you tell them where.

S&D ...I think it is available in some parts of Japan. I remembered reading that somewhere. Anyway, will you be 26 by the time you adjust status??? That might just get you out of it. wink.gif

I understand all of your concerns but it has been tested here quite a bit...enough for me to give the go ahead for my daughter...and I do not take these things lightly. wink.gif I discussed this thoroughly with two different physicians.

Besides, when you really think about it... do you know all the effects of the things you're really putting into your body each day??? Perservatives, chemicals...dyes...etc. Even the air you breathe has a more adverse effect on you than some of the vaccines you get. Just my opinion. wink.gif

No idea about London and no clue about how long it takes. I assume once they enter it into the system it's done but who knows.

Yes, I'd put the new address considering that's what you're changing it to. wink.gif

I have seen others have issues with address changes but contacting DOS is your best option. They deal with the Embassy directly.

Do still make sure where he lived previously keeps an eye out for anything addressed to your fiance. wink.gif

Stephanie, you need to call DOS to let them know of the address change and I would also contact the Embassy (even tho that's what dos sould do) to let them know.

Again, anyone knows anything about the papiloma virus one? Is a new vaccine, I heard lots of bad things about it, and I´m scared to take it. If it´s not proven safe, I really don´t wanna take it. What happens if I refuse to take it?

Here is more information regarding HPV.

I'm pretty sure it's only given to girls 11-26. It's suppose to be given to those who are NOT sexually active (which makes sense) but seems CDC wants it for all new immigrants within that age range by the time they adjust status.

We 'older' ladies can get tested for the virus during our annual check-ups.

It's a series of 3 shots that takes 6 months. I researched it. My daughter had her series last year. wink.gif

If you go here... http://track.dhl-usa...?nav=TrackByRef

and enter... EXP 17 AUG 2008A (the date being a day or so before you know or think it would have left NVC) in the reference box

then put a range of dates around the time your petition should have been sent out ...or, if you know the exact date, enter that date in both spots... a list will come up showing all shipments from the NVC. Look for your Country and track that petition.

Note: this does not mean it was 'your' petition sent. When you're looking at the tracking info it shows how many packages were sent to that Embassy. A place like the Philippines or even London or Canada are bound to have many packages being sent but someplace like NZ is only seen now and then. Japan may be like that too as I don't see too many going there.

Point is, if you know the date it left NVC (603-334-0700, 1, 5 to talk to someone and they can tell you) and you enter that you can be assured that was your package going and you can track it all the way to delivery! Oh, they are open until midnight and it's best to call either early in the am or late at night so you dont have to wait too long. wink.gif They are super friendly!

Our petition was received by NVC last friday (15th) and they usually ship within a couple of days but they seem to like our petition a little too much here in the U.S. laughing.gif

I've got a question about the medical... Yesterday I spoke on the phone with Giovanni (of La_Giovanni fame), who had just had both medical and interview, and he told me that the doctors at the Istituto Varelli in Naples had told him diseases such as measles, varicella or rubella can come back later in life. I have NEVER heard anything like that in my life, and I'm surely not going to get useless vaccines injected into my body when I have already had those diseases. As I said in an earlier post, I intend getting a titer test in order to show that I don't need anything but a tetanus shot. I don't know if he was told so because he's younger than me (31 to my 47)... What kind of advice can you give me?

If you need it... get it. Anyone can get a disease even when vaccinated against it. Our kids are vaccinated against chicken pox here now, yet both of my children still got it. Just how it works. Basically, you're just getting the disease to build immunity when they vaccinate you so it's not like it protects you 100%. I was actually just watching the news last night regarding vaccinations and how so many children in the U.S. are coming up with measles again even some who were vaccinated against it as babies. There's some people (including many of my friends) who choose not to vaccinate their children and they are the highest at risk because of all the folks immigrating or merely travelling here who have not been vaccinated and are carriers. As S&D stated, it's becoming a problem again everywhere. Most of us don't remember what it was like when there were awful outbreaks of these diseases that killed hundreds of thousands. I would get 100 shots if it means being with my man. wink.gif

S&D.. I hope you had a wonderful visit with your love! smile.gif

Well my darling had his medical yesterday (just needed the tetanus btw wink.gif ), paid for his visa and overnighted his information package (p3) back to the Embassy. Yet... our petition still has not left NVC!!! ranting33va.gif

laughing.gif Lauren, you're not complaining are you???? I still want it faster!!!

Sandra, how long it depends varies on Consulate. Check the Embassy reviews for Uruguay and they will tell you. You don't really need your lawyer to send what your fiance needs...especially if all they're doing is holding you up... but I understand if you want to wait.

Affidavit of support (example forms here)... tax transcripts of copies of returns (usually just one year), letter from employer (example here) and copies of paystubs... new letter of intent with original sig (also example form here).. copy of NoA2(I-797)...and anything more you have to add regarding ongoing relationship. That's about it. wink.gif

My man is off to his medical in just a couple of hours (it's Friday in NZ) ..he got his p3 from the NZ EM yesterday! Exactly one week after our approval...they even overnighted it to him. Our approved petition still hasn't left NVC. laughing.gif

Got a question about page 4 of the I-134 where the Notary Public fills out.
It says Subscribed and sworn to (affirmed) before me this 20th day of August at _________

What is the "at" asking? The current time?

Thanks

yes, the time. The notary should handle all that. smile.gif

When should I start checking the NVC and stuff like that? I'm so confused as to what to do next.

Another thing, do you guys think it would be a problem if I got my financial stuff together now? I know it will prob be at least another month till the interview, but I kinda dont want to leave anything till the last minute. I'm not sure how long the letter from my job will take or the letter from the bank, that's why I want to get it done right away.

Tell me what you guys think.

So we have and I-134 prepared and notarised for both Megan and her Step-Father. Last 3 years tax transcripts for both. Letter of employment for both and a notarised letter of intent for Megan and I to be married. Is this everything we need to meet the financial requirements laid out by the poverty guidleines? Is this covering everything that the London Embassy will ask for, for both Megan and her Step-Father????

Thanks in advance.

Lizzie, i'm glad your case finally made it to Morocco! I'm not sure about the additional copy of the NOA2 (I-797).. I want to say I read somewhere you had to pay for it. I hope your original makes it to Morocco!

As far as the interview... The New Zealand Cosulate is just very accomodating and friendly...as are most NZ'ers i've met. wink.gif We knew this ages ago and knew of other couples who had expedited their interview so we're attempting the same. All he did was email them and ask. Russell received an email back from them yesterday saying they would send him P3 today (before they even have the approved petition) so it looks like we're on our way. smile.gif Good luck to you.

Abe-n-Verito... now it's your turn!!! wink.gif

As mentioned above, how different the process is when you're checking new things off every day. smile.gif Our package still has not left NVC (as of last night anyway) but Russell should still have his packet 3, medical results and all he needs from me by the beginning of the new week which means an interview any time after that. Lauren, you can put your proof together any way you like. I think we had plenty of proof with the initial petition so I only sent screen shots of my inbox and a couple receipts along with the affidavit. I sent one folder with a copy of the initial petition and a folder full of the affidavit and all supporting evidence all indexed accordingly and well organized and highlighted so there is no fuss about finding what they need. I realize India is a whole different 'ballgame' so i'd say just send it as thoroughly and orderly as you can. smile.gif Perhaps you can include a letter requisting an expedite for the interview based on his circumstances. wink.gif You will need to 'prove' he is directly in harms way and effected by what's going on.

milo, I think that to feel you are missing something is normal human response! Most of the work is now up to your fiance...he can use the example forms to help him fill out the docs. They may even be available for download on the New Dehli Embassy site. Good morning folks!

Jer.. your case number is not what they use to track your dhl. wink.gif You were approved on 8/11... it's hard to know exactly when your package left NVC without calling but there is a package with 1 piece that left DHL on 8/14 and arrived in Bankok this morning (tracking number 9423683555). Judging by others times I would say that is most likely your package. There is another that left 8/13 and arrived in Bankok yesterday (tracking number 9438604910).

milo, approved 8/13... there's a package that left Friday night (tracking #9438607640) that is on it's way to New Dehli. It was in NY ready to go as of last night. This may or may not be yours. We were approved the same day and ours is not yet sent from NVC. Judging by others timelines, ours will be sent out on Monday and arrive in New Zealand on Thursday. wink.gif Of course, yours was approved earlier in the day so it's likely it was sent out Friday afternoon.

You will both need to call DOS. They can give your new case number, tell you if and when it left NVC and arrived at the Embassy. If you get that date then you can truly track it. wink.gif ..they can also tell you if a package 3 was sent out and even if there's an interview scheduled. (202) 663-1225 Press 1, then Press 0.

For those of you curious go to http://track.dhl-usa...?nav=TrackByRef Select 'track by reference' and enter EXP 12 AUG 2008A (or a day or two after you were approved) then underneath put the date range for either the day you know it left NVC or a couple days on either side. You will then see a list come up listing all packages that left NVC. Look for your Country and click on the reference number to get details.

jer and milo, you can also track by the numbers I gave you above. wink.gif

As far as what's needed from here! Bad boys and girl! You need to do your homework! laughing.gif I personally contacted the Auckland Embassy ages ago to find out just what would be required of me mostly because I am self-employed, own rental property...etc. The forms are pretty basic for most Embassy's and you can find those examples in the links above but, as mama Nick suggested, each Consulate is also very different so you really do need to do your own research to find out what will be required of you. For instance, some Consualtes still want 3 years tax returns from the petitioner, some only want one. At some Consulates they do not allow co-sponsors and others they do...etc. At some of the higher fraud posts you're going to want to send as much on-going/proof of bona fide as you can. Thai Mom and the folks that post in the Thailand thread will be able to lead you to your answers, Jer. I'm not sure of anyone in particular to help you Milo but i'm sure if you visit your portals link and read the Embassy reviews you'll find some answers. wink.gif

Russell will be calling to schedule his medical when he wakes up today about 5pm est (9am Nz time) and then he's going to call the Consulate to see if he can send in p3 before they receive the hardcopy of the approved petition (they get an electronic version as well). laughing.gif I think he's in a rush!

Like the approvals, it depends on the adjuticator. As stated by a former adjuticator, RFEs are put into a stack of their own as they await the new information. The adjuticator said he made it a habit to work on those first thing every morning. Obviously, some still do just that because many people are approved within a week or two of sending the information back in. However, like every other transparent thing about this process, it seems some adjuticators perhaps work on them at their own leisure and some folks have to wait much longer. It's a ####### shoot... like everything else here. sad.gif

My check was cashed, and was for the amount $455.00, which is the fee listed on the website. Not too sure what you mean by wrong address on the check, but my personal address matches my home address, and matches the address I used on all my documents.

I called again today, and finally reached the "second" tier of folks, being passed up to an Officer. She informed me that my petition had not been rejected, but that she was unsure what had been returned to the California Service Center. She said that according to the computer system, the petition had been assigned a receipt number and was still pending.

So I am hopeful that the returned mail was just my NOA1. She told me that if they had sent the entire petition back, the case would show up as rejected. (of course someone could have entered data wrong, or failed to enter data, after all it took them 3 months to tell me that something had been returned to their office).

Still hopeful, but not terribly impressed with our government. whistling.gif

NOA1 is I-797 NOTICE OF ACTION. Sounds like someone entered the wrong data (returned your document I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E))into the database. What a surprise. blink.gif I'm not impressed either. I really hope that's the case and that you moving right along now.

just fyi... was speaking of the address on the personal check not matching the petitioner's home address. VSC seems to have a problem with that. wink.gif

The only time i've seen this email is when they've returned an entire petition for not having either the correct funds... wrong address on the check (VSC only tho)... wrong amount on check or missing forms or something to that effect. From what I remember, it took quite a while to be notified in those cases as well. Sorry, I certainly hope that's not the case here.

Received this email today from CRIS:

"The last processing action taken on your case

Receipt Number: WAC08************

Application Type: I129F , PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)

Current Status: DOCUMENT OTHER THAN CARD OR TRAVEL DOCUMENT BEING HELD FOR 180 DAYS SINCE RETURNED AS UNDELIVERABLE

On May 7, 2008, the post office returned your document I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E) as undeliverable. We will hold it for 180 days from May 7, 2008 to allow you time to contact us. If you do not contact us at 1-800-375-5283 within 180 days, this document will be destroyed and you will need to file a new application or application for replacement with fee.

If you have questions or concerns about your application or the case status results listed above, or if you have not received a decision from USCIS within the current processing time listed*, please contact USCIS Customer Service at (800) 375-5283.

*Current processing times can be found on the USCIS website at www.uscis.gov under Case Status and Processing Dates.
*** Please do not respond to this e-mail message.

Sincerely,

The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS)"

When I first saw that I had an email form CRIS, my heart leapt up and down in joy. But then it was this garbage.

Now I am assuming this is our missing NOA1. I called them up, explained the whole story (once again, for the third time) and the women right away gave me a confirmation number for re-issuing my NOA1 (within 45 days, so I am hoping we'll get the NOA2 before the NOA1). But something about the language "this document will be destroyed and you will need to file a new application or application for replacement with fee," has me really on edge. I asked her twice to confirm that our case was being processed and she confirmed twice. I still have no faith in them.

And please note that even though they say the document was returned to them on May 7, 2008, they did not send me this email until today, August 6th. I had checked our case this morning on the USCIS website and it said that the last action was on May 1, 2008. Now it says August 6th, 2008.

Wow! Seems CSC is really catching up to Vermont these days. We sent our petition to Vermont on 4/15 / noa1 4/23... and we're still waiting. sad.gif

I've been here for some time now and the disparity between the two centers has always bothered me...so much so I wrote my reps. It's wonderful seeing CSC process applications at the same pace... even if it means we've been waiting longer. wink.gif congratulations to you all. smile.gif

Angel.. this link should help you. wink.gif

Aww Kim, VSC might be busy with some other visas before but it should be ur turn very soon. I believe VSC will go back to their normal process time now. They might have send you a hard copy without update ur status online. I'm hoping you can get it before next week. Btw, I dunno why my timeline seems wrong as I see my I-129F date on K1 plus I-130 and I can't find myself in K1 too... its werid... headbonk.gif

Thank you sweetheart, that's very kind. We're really hoping for Monday. smile.gif

It's hard to know what's going on because this is the first full year that these are the only centers processing the K1's and under a new director at that. Hopefully, they're just evening out the time it takes at both. That, I would be ok with. wink.gif

I've never seen a VSC'er not get updated online when they were approved...however, it's been very common over the last year with CSC. What a tease! blink.gif At least you got it! good.gif

Again, i'm delighted to see CSC moving along! The more happy people in love that can be together quicker... the better! smile.gif

good luck to all and a speedy remainder of the process for you GloandCole. smile.gif

Yes, the RFE trick is old news. sad.gif ...probably because of everybody abusing it.

I've read that people can sometimes still get through to an actual human but those that answer the phone usually really know nothing of you case. If anything, they usually just serve to frustrate you more.

The only thing you can really do is wait.
If you're beyond processing times listed on their site then contact your representatives, the ombudsman...and anyone else who will listen.

good luck

"updated" on igor's list means the last time YOU updated your profile here on VJ, not when USCIS touched your case.

Igor's list/VJ stats have no affiliation with uscis.

We can't create a sticky post of approvals only as it is something that is already broken down from the database in the timelines both here and on Igor's list.

If you want to know the most recent VSC only approvals all you have to do is check the timeline function.

igors list clearly defines the sent and Noa1 dates.

USCIS states that they will process in the order received (not the date noa1 (I-797) was issued).

The adjutication process is not the same for all. Not all adjuticators are created equally and security checks done at every level of this process can hold you up for any length of time. Hence the disparity in timelines.

VJ is a very small percentage of actual filers. While it can be great to have a better idea of 'when'...it can be very dangerous for your psyche to compare your case so closely to others. wink.gif

good luck.

Congratulations. I'm going to move this to the appropriate forum.

As far as advice, spend much time eduating yourself to the process...especially the Embassy stage in Pakistan. wink.gif Gather all the proof of bona-fide relationship you can along the way .....then put on your patience cap and try to stay busy as you wait!

good luck

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsShoule I be worried????
Unless you are past uscis posted times, and even then, calling will usually do you no good.... it may perhaps even serve to frustrate you more.

Once your petition arrives at the uscis it is placed in a universal format and stored until ready for an adjuticator. Adjuticators all work at a different pace. That in itself explains the disparity in the process. There are also security checks at every stage of this process. Any one of them can hold your case up for any length of time... even if you think there is nothing.

The good news is that if others around your filing date are being approved then it's likely yours is not too far off. smile.gif

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNeed Help Please
Nobody can or will do anything until you are past the dates on the uscis website.

As far as giving out case numbers... it's very simple to put case numbers into the uscis online system which were sent the same day, or before, yours was sent in. Look for another K-1 fiance visa and if it was before yours was sent...simply give them that case number.

Here's how it breaks down...

Example - WAC 08 143 5 1234 (just using CSC as example.... Vermont is, of course, VSC)

WAC - California Service Center (formerly Western Adjudication Center)

08 - The fiscal year of USCIS, from October 1 to September 30. (Cases filed from 10/01/2006 to 09/30/2007 will have xx = 07)
143 - The working day of the fiscal year when your case is received. 10/01 = 001
5 or 0 - Either 5 (in database) or 0 (paper files) ... K1's are put into database
1234 - A serial number assigned to your case based on the number of cases received, starting from 0001

this should be the number you change

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reportsquick question
You do not receive an automatic email when your file is scanned/touched.

The date on the uscis website will change like this...

...if your petition is touched. It could mean they are working on your file..or it could mean they are simply moving it. Some couples go the entire process without a 'touch' as each adjuticator is different. If you are more curious about the process you can read a post from a former adjuticator here.
