Hey PW, congratulations on the petition approval the second time around! And also to dean_i wait! (wow, 7 months for NOA2, my goodness)
This process is really a test of patience..(and that's an understatement)!

then we see visa approvals and happy smileys!.. like the recent ones.. zethris... BJZags...congratulations guys :dance:
....and then we know it's all worth it. :thumbs:

I feel bad about those in AR though, hope you get out of the hellhole soon. (F)

Welcome back, PW... So you were at puerto galera! Just last month, S and I spent ten nice, quiet days there at Aninuan Beach, far from the maddening crowd of White Beach and Sabang. It is a nice place, for old decrepit couples like we are, looking for peace and quiet. :yes: Sun and waves and walking up and down the beach in the early morning and late afternoon till the moon comes out... picking shells and stones.. yup,S noticed how the weight of our baggaes doubled and realized I took half of the beach home with me! :P

Our case number is MNL2006-820... at the tail end of the queue!

Good luck to those having their interviews this december.

I'm sure PW had a great time with her sweetie... she should be back in the thread soon, so i'm hoping an updated version would be a nice welcome back treat for our very hard-working buddy.

This was the latest update on this format, done by ellmoi some pages back,
with Erichu's crystal ball guesses, supposedly with updated info too?

Sorry if we're off-topic but someone else might be also in the same situation.

Brit, on second thought, I think that the church wedding should have also been mentioned in the Annulment Decision so that the civil aspect of that marriage could have also been annulled.

I know one friend who was married only in church but she filed annulment for both civil and church. Which means that even if she married only in church, she had to do the civil aspect of it in court to make her eligible in civil law to marry again.

All these is too technical for my simple mind so maybe you need to ask your sister's lawyer about her situation.

As an aside, since your sister's annulment is fairly recent. If she finds out that a MC for church is existing, she can have the court decision amended to include the church wedding so that she doesn't have to file another petition.

yup off topic but i'm butting in :P

I had a church wedding, Catholic rites only! no ciivl rites... and I got an annullment in court... only way i can be legally free to marry again. My lawyer and the Clerk of Court never told me to get a church annullment in order to be free to get married again.. so can safely conclude that the court decree covers it all right.

My sister now is asking me why suddenly I'm getting interested with her annulment case and she's saying that I'm just going to get married and I'm already analyzing those things :lol: .

Uling... my guess is your fiance didn't have to go through the annullment process that's why you are not knowledgeable about it... you are so lucky! My fiance is an expert at it after three gruelling years of annullment hearing postponements .. an expert at what reasons for postponement the court will give in the next hearing!

I spoke to the Manila embassy today. She said they have NO appointments available for june, july, aug, and the 1st two weeks of sept. They will not mail out our packet 4 until the appointments are available and the backlog is gone.

She said we might get an end of sept appointment and maybe the packet 4 in one month. My papers arrived june 4th.

FYI: i got almost 4 kilos of proof with me during my interview still ended on AR. I have everything they want complete and organize is just they want to perform some background checking.

you're right, the time spent together is the most compelling evidence, but what if he cant afford to visit me as frequently as he wants? my fiancee only visited me once for two weeks and that was last january of this year, and we got engaged at that time, he really wants to visit me again, but he just cant afford it, its too expensive, and right now, we are saving our money for our future, what do you think we should do?

we have a lot of evidence though, like recorded voice calls, emails, chats, photos, and some videos when we were together, im sorry if i ask too much, but do you think those are sufficient? thanks...

Have your husband call the embassy and get an interview appointment for you...that what my husband did this morning...and the embassy sent me an email with my appointment date for interview on nov. 24....

btw, if you like we can go together in the st. lukes on monday...i will be having my medical on that day...

Hi Steve, I believe that certificate is called the certificate of singleness issued by the nso. Maybe they have another name for it. My wife was there at the embassy too and passed the interview friday. Congratulations, Archie


CENOMAR is an acronym for CERTIFICATE OF NO MARRIAGE. We included that together with my BC when we filed the petition at USCIS, but since i have kids and never been married im sure the CO will going to ask for a CENOMAR or better yet, they will going to put me on AR and try to request one directly from the NSO. But, we are hoping that they will consider the one im going to supply them during my interview, i am thinking to attached the official receipt issued by the NSO when i requested for one for them to know that its for real, not the one from the street of C.M. RECTO. I guess that's the main reason why sometimes the CO rejected the CENOMAR that is being showed to them. But anyway, no one will risk about being denied because of fraud...what do you think guys?

i got hold of someone through call centers 3 times already since our case has been received by the embassy. i asked them if i am going to receive a letter (pre-interview notice) from the embassy but all that i talked to have the same answer. i will not get any notice or letter acknowledging my case. well, i had been reading posts here noticing that ,mostly everyone who have their case forwarded in manila received a pre-interview notice. mine has been received in manila february 20, until now i have not gotten anything from the embassy. is it alright if i dont have the pre-interview notice or do i have to let my fiance call the embassy and ask regarding this matter?

call center guys told me just to wait for my packet 4 which will be send 90-180 days at the most after manila embassy received the case. we are hoping that our case will be included on the may interviews.

btw, congratulations to those who got approved and have their visas on hand! all of us deserve to be happy. GOOD LUCK to everyone.

don't worry about that, you will receive you pre-interview notice soon. the manila embassy received my petition paper on Dec 28, 2006. i received my pre-interview notification last january 23, 2007. then my appointment packet arrived yesterday, ( March 10, 2007 ) with the enclosed DS-156, DS- 156K and DS 157 forms. i must bring them with me together with the required documents to the embassy for my interview. there was no DS 230 part 1 or part 2. i guess they will give it to me to fill out there during my interview.

just wait for the document, you will receive them on time. i will have my interview on April 19. please pray for me. thanks and good luck to you too!

hi gracey_byron, i think we got the same problem. my kids are K2 derivative but they will just follow-to-join. i don't know if i have to bring them along with me during the interview. i guess the best thing to do is call the embassy, i might do that tomorrow. i will PM you in case i have known something about such matter. do you have your kid's passport already? i have not requested for my kids passport yet, wish i can manage to get everything done in due time.

Hi friends,

I just thought I'd check in with an update as well as congratulate all those that have gotten interviews, visas, about to come to USA ro already here, etc, you all know who you are.

Fely and I are moving along at the NVC. I'm currently waiting for her to send me her DS-230 and other documents so that I can forward them on to the NVC and we can finish our case there. I've told her to look for a Fedex office, but she just says she'll go to Iba later this week and find an international shipper. If anyone has any suggestions on how she should go about shipping to me quickly I'd accept any help. Next week she plans to go to Manila to take her CFO seminar. I tried to tell her she really doesn't need to do it yet, but she seems to want to get it out of the way as well as get her passport name changed. After that she has a job turning beds at a resort for a month.

Well that's where we are. Later everyone.

hello gary, fely might want to try LBC? haven't tried it yet, but a friend of mine did and she said the service is excellent. documents could be delivered 2-3 days and fees are reasonable. it has many branches nationwide, im sure she could find one in zambales. hope this helps. GOD BLESS!

Hello, my fiance is concerned if she has the right copy of the NBI clearance. When she applied for her passport they took one of the two copies she received when she got her Clarence. Does it make a difference which one she brings to the embassy? Also how recent does the embassy want the clearance to be. She got it back in November and hopefully the interview will be in May.


Hi, i had the same confusion before and brought up the same question at another site. My NBI clearance will expires August 2007, but i was advised to renew it since the embassy would requires at least 6 months validity. I renewed mine last week, and probably i will have my interview in May also. Your fiancee can renew her clearance in just 5 minutes at designated NBI kiosk which are available in some malls. She don't need to go the main NBI office, that is if she lives around Manila.

It would be nice if your fiancee and I would have the same interview dates? So far, i am still waiting to hear from the embassy. GOOD LUCK and GOD BLESS to all of us!

I read 'somewhere' that the tax transcrips, employer letter, bank letter etc could be 'photo copied' and this qualifies as a 'dupicate' - but the applicatnt must have the originals in his or her possession in case the consolate asks to see them. Is this right? OR does duplicate mean 'duplicate originals' ? This is a little confusing, and I just want to be sure on this.

The USE in Manila has this information on their website: http://manila.usemba...ov/wwwfivk1.pdf ; please see first item under important reminders.

As I understand it, duplicates as in "photocopies" are required to be brought to the interview for submission, while originals are also required to be brought, for verification or authentication.

And you do mean the supporting documents right? not the "forms" as you wrote in the title of the thread? Because the visa application forms DS 156 and DS 157 are to be submitted in duplicate, but you already know that. :)
