Africa: Sub-SaharanEmbassy Interview

Boo Boo, my fiance talks so much that I lose my patience. I told him that he thinks he's Jesus because he likes to give a lot of illustrations  and by the time he gets finished I've already moved on to something else. Patience is definitely a virtue that I have to work on. On the positive side, I will never complain that he doesn't tell me how he's feeling. I love my SO!!!

Congratulations!!!! I knew you would do great. Thanks so much for sharing the details with us. Please let us know the details of obtaining his Visa and getting into the US!

What a beautiful picture, thank you for sharing.

Great review of the interview. Congratulations on the success    and I wish you guys all success for the future.

Hello everybody, Just so happy I called the NVC office today before work and found out my Husband has an interview for July 20th.....Our case was completed on march 12 2007. words can not describe how I am feeling now...I know I will not be able to sleep at all.....After the shock wears off that we really have an interview then I will worry about the interview itself.... blink.gif......I want to tell anyone that is new and reading the posts that with my experience here VJ has been right on target.....This is a wonderful site for anyone dealing with the Immigration questions......Now I can go dance the night away kicking.gif

Congratulations kicking.gif and Good Luck with the interview.

Alan, please do let us know how you get on tomorrow. NVC has to release you soon, from everything you have told us, there is no reason to question the domicility. You know my feelings on this already!! :ranting:

You WILL be on that balcony soon, celebrating with Carolyn. Keep that in mind.

Oooohh,
I see... you would not know about the US address, because they send everything to UK, and even that in a screwy way
I am not the agent BTW, so I don't get NVC letters... OK, I guess I will have to poke my agent (he hates paperwork, and I foresee some resistance and complaining there) :P
Thank you Alan,
...NVC is still thinking over your problem?
Rika

your address should be identical to the correspondence which they already send you

alan

Yes NVC still chewing on it.. Carolyn thinks she got a tentative 'promise' that if she sent her 'State' taxes form, then they would mark it complete...
I fedexed the form Friday and it arrived 9.45am monday...Still checking auto message all the time...
On Friday I sent an email with more info for them and also a fax. There is a ton of evidence that her absence is temporary and therefore fits the rules. We even have a letter from London saying that they wont take our case because she has temporary status in the UK and to file in Nebraska.

We are getting no sleep and we both feel ill. Day after day after day

I don't like to log on to VJ much as all the 'case completes' make me sad and I feel like everyone had a good party and got home smiling - but I am the one who got mugged on the way home and lost my front teeth.

We will call them Thursday eve and try ask for the same lady who promised us - if they still say no then our 1 year project is finished for now and we will have to rethink. To think I may have spent a year in this house in this horrible area in the worst weather since the ice age - just to be with Carolyn and to do the visa - for nothing

I think the situation is barbaric

alan

Hey Alan, hang in there. You will get through this, and you and Carolyn will be in Florida before you know it. Just keep that balcony image in your mind during your long walks, and before you know it the picture in both your minds will become a reality.

There are a lot of "happy celebrations" on this forum, but most understand the frustrations you are going through, and this forum can also provide a great supportive environment to vent your frustrations as well.

Keep going. NVC will release you soon.

And don't be a stranger to VJ!!

That's the number for the Department of State. When you call, press Option 1 then Option 0. They ask for your case number and can tell you the current status.

Good Luck.... :D

National Visa Center (Dept of State)RFE FOR FINANCIAL INFORMATION !!!! DESPAIR !
Alan, I'm so sorry to read your post this evening. I was really hoping to see good news.

Please don't give up hope, you two WILL both get through this. You are most certainly not a drama queen and you should feel free to vent on this forum as much as you need. There are a lot of people here to support you and who are wishing you well and thinking of you and Carolyn every day.

This domicile issue is nonsense, and you will escape NVC. Just keep yourself focussed on the end, and you and Carolyn will cross that finish line.

The stress associated with career and jobs is nothing in comparison to the stress when your own personal life is either on hold or in the hands of other people.

You and Carolyn are in my thoughts this evening. Please keep us updated. (F) (F) (F)

Mexico, Latin & South AmericaDIVORCE

Hello there, I have a question to ask...I was married in Brazil my native country and divorced in the US 12 years ago (Final Decree) in Florida...Now my son will apply for me in a few months and I would like to know if my divorce in the US will be enough to prove the termination of my first marriage because the case here is that I never done anything regarding the homologation of my divorce in Brazil still my ex wife got married many years ago again in the US and today she is already a US citizen...I will be getting married again this year here in Europe with my long term fiancée of 5 years! Would they be happy just with my divorce in Brazil? Anybody here with a similar situation in the past or have a opinion to share?

Regards

Sorry I meant to say if THEY WILL BE HAPPY JUST WITH MY DIVORCE IN THE US!

Hi everyone!

Who is of São Paulo who doctor you went and what you thought? I'll schedule a doctor, but I'm not sure where I should go.

You should look into the website of the American Embassy in Sao Paulo under Medical Exam for Immigrant Visas and there you will find the doctors and addresses ..Boa sorte!

Mexico, Latin & South AmericaChanging visa status

I am in currently in the USA in a B1/B2 tourist visa, is it possible to change my visa status to student, in order to apply for graduation?

No you can't change your status!! B1/B2 (non-immigrant) is simply for tourism period! You could always go back to Brazil and apply for a student visa!

Mexico, Latin & South AmericaBrazil Police Records

Yes, I just called the NVC today and they said there are two Police Certificates from Brazil. One is a certificate of Good Conduct from the Civil Police. The other is a criminal record from the Federal Police. So essentially one from the state and one from the federal government. I was told the internet form is not official enough and that you need to go in person to pick them up....

Please anyone correct me if I am wrong?

The Policia Federal one you could get in the net and take to the Brazilian Consulate were they will certificate and translate making a legal copy! I done mine here in London.

United KingdomLondon 2012- K1s from NOA2 to interview thread
Hi there,

I have an appointment to see my NHS nurse next week, and I was wondering if there has been any update on what vaccinations are required when it comes to the AOS? I told the nurse about the following:

Td or Tdap (DT, DTP or DtaP)
MMR
Varicella
Influenza

Is there anything else I am missing? I am also asking them to make an official note (dated, stamped and signed) of the vaccinations I have got, would that be sufficent once it comes to the AOS stage?

Thank you!
