Also, I was in the kitchen and out of nowhere a lizard fell on my arm. My husband says it means that I am pregnant. (Hey, I’m actually pregnant, so maybe this one is true...)

~Miss Jones

Jax....i would leave all the pics in the album and if they want to see some pics you can easily pull some pics out...

just got back from the Bio Appt....it was a success  our appt was for at 9 we got there a little before 8 and we were able to go in(it was weird...it was inside a old mall..almost missed it...some advice when you have your appt. go onto USCIS.gov and look for the office...usually they will give some land marks near by...) and mike filled out the form and they even excepted the other bio appt letter for the 11th...whole thing to about 35 mins....just hope the rest it goes so easy!!!!

Happy Easter to everyone!!

Shauna congratulations  another step BIO appt he gone.

Thanks for the advice I think I'm repeating myself ahaha. ;)

The album won't be able to slide under the window but they will ask u to hold it.

The only beef I eat in Jamaica is if we go out to a really good restaurant. No burgers at Burger King either.

Ochi had the best whopper ever!!! I can't eat whoppers here anymore, I tried!

Every thing taste different here. i jus came up last month and i brought jamaican seasonongs so i could cook with them but the food jus does not taste the same. My husband doesn't any for me to eat because he knows i won't like it. So all i eat is hot dogs, fish and chicken. But my motherin law cooked some beef for dinner the satyrday after i came up and surprizingly it was good, tastes jus like beef back home maybe because she is jamaican so she knows how to do it jamaican style

Where's my manners.

Happy Easter to all. May you enjoy the bun and chesse, ackee and bammy in all thier glory. May this day be as meaningful for you as your Jamaican hubby because when Thanksgiving comes , they are going to be just as excited for you. And if your hubby does not realize that there is no Easter Monday and Tuesday here in the US, just think of it as the day after Thanksgiving and make him/her bun and cheese again and send them off to work.

Happy Easter to you and yours. In case I forget, Happy Easter Monday and Happy Easter Tuesday!!!!

There is no Easter Tuesday
its Good Friday Ressurection Sunday and Easter Monday

IMPORTANT NOTICE TO IMMIGRANT VISA APPLICANTS CONCERNING VACCINATION REQUIREMENTS

United States immigration law requires immigrant visa applicants to obtain certain vaccinations (listed below) prior to the issuance of an immigrant visa. Panel physicians who conduct medical examinations of immigrant visa applicants are required to verify that immigrant visa applicants have met the vaccination requirements, or that it is medically inappropriate for the visa applicant to receive one or more of the listed vaccinations:

-- Acellular pertussis
-- Hepatitis A
-- Hepatitis B
-- Human papillomavirus (HPV)
-- Influenza
-- Influenza type b (Hib)
-- Measles
-- Meningococcal
-- Mumps
-- Pneumococcal
-- Pertussis
-- Polio
-- Rotovirus
-- Tetanus and diphtheria toxoids
-- Varicella
-- Zoster

In order to assist the panel physican, and to avoid delays in the processing of an immigrant visa, all immigrant visa applicants should have their vaccination records available for the panel physician's review at the time of the immigrant medical examination. Visa applicants should consult with their regular health care provider to obtain a copy of their immunization record, if one is available. If you do not have a vaccination record, the panel physician will work with you to determine which vaccinations you may need to meet the requirement. Certain waivers of the vaccination requirement are available upon the recommendation of the panel physician. Only a physician can determine which of the listed vaccinations are medically appropriate for you, given your age, medical history and current medical condition. For more detailed information, please visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Panel Physician Technical Instructions for Vaccination.

FYI I stayed at Mikuzi Guest House in Kingston for our interview. It was very nice and the staff was great. A friend of mine told me about a week or two ago that a tourist couple was just killed there. Not sure of the entire story but wanted to let you all know.

I liked this hotel because of the price, but I researched this shooting Dillon mentions. http://www.nzherald....jectid=10583835

Guess I'll be paying a lot more to stay at the Hilton or Christar Villas.

stay at christar
it is LITERALLY down the road from the embassy and it's quite central
i'm sure (or i would like to hope) it is cheaper than the hilton

Happened to us too! 5 months, 15 days and counting without a touch. We are at VSC however, so it seems the same inconsistency plagues the process no matter what location. I've had an INFOPASS session and talked with my congressman's office, both of which have yet to produce any results. And the experiences I've had with calling USCIS's 1-800 number... Today's phone call went something like this:

Woman at Call Center - ...sir, I see VSC is reporting a 5 month processing time frame.
Me - Yea my I129F was received on March 5th.
WACC - Okay, March to April, April to May, May to June (I'm thinking 8-3=5 you !@#$), June to July, July to August. Sir it's only been 5 months, so you will have to wait a little longer, until it's been more than 5 months.
Me - Well it has been more than 5 months as it was filed on March 5th and this is August the 20th. That's more than 5 months and 2 weeks.
WACC - Let's see, March to April, April to... (she went through the entire process again) ...to August. That's only 5 months and that's within their processing time frame.
Me - Well ma-am, this is now the middle of August and it was filed on the 5th of March...(interrupted by her)
WACC - March to April, April to... (she attempted to count the months again and this time I interrupted her)
Me - Okay thank you (click).

I think they must be trained at the call center to frustrate callers. I hope for her and her loved one's sake that that is the case and that she wasn't serious.

i'm so sorry you are going through this but that right there is so ridiculous its hilarious
you can do nothing but laugh because its hard to beleive that's not some spoof from snl or mad tv
i think you should keep calling them till someone gives you a proper answer

as a matter of fact that sounds like a Ms Swan skit on Mad TV
that sounds like EXACTLY something ms swan would do
search the videos on youtube
at the very least it will give you a d@mn good laugh and take your mind off this

Anyone know the best way to open my hubby's daughters case? I have asked in another forum. Her K1 or is it K2 expired? What forms do I fiil out?

I think my questioned was answered.

Can anybody give me a few pointers on how to steam fish

Season fish with seasoning salt, fish seasoning, black pepper, scotch bonnet pepper, salt. Leave it in the fridge overnight to marinate.
Put some butter or margarine in a saucepan which has a lide. Saute some carrots, chocho (if you can find it!), pimento seeds, garlic clove sliced, thyme for maybe 5 mins.
Add the fish and put enough water in to come up the sides of the fish but not cover them. Make sure flame is lowww, 2 or 3.
Cover the pot and simmer, no need to turn the fish.
Fish is readt when the flesh flakes off easily, about 15 mins.

thank u so much. i will have to do that this weekend.
My hubby dose it the same way, but when I do it, I wrapp it in foil and place it in the oven on top of the broiler with water in the bottom.

Thanks for the advice on how to steam fish.
