Girl its been 10 long months without HIM and Jamaica. In August it will be an entire year...so I figured I can get the handicap escort in the airport...get to my destination and continue my bedrest there. LOL The most strenuous part will be carrying luggage and walking the airport.

OOOhhh DaDa...I know the siggy...I don't like it either but hey...they don't matter in my world and I certainly don't make their little worlds rotate so I just ignore it and keep it moving.

JaE I have felt that way for a long time about a certain poster...so I can see how it became aggravating after a while. You haven't done that in a long time...LOL

Well for me there was a post some one sent out last week about the guy who thought his wife was scamming him because he gave her money and she always seemed to spend it all. Well when I went on the thread another poster had an offense picture of a lady slamming Obama ? TO ME? it was offensive. So I just simply replied back Wow your sig is offensive. Period end of subject but of course next thing you know the other posters started getting on me telling me why was I so easily offended I could have just ignored his sig blah blah blah. I didn?t think it was a big deal so I never went back to check the comments and when I did today I see they tried to talk ish on me and thanks to my fellow yardies Philly and Bunz they backed me up telling them I was aloud to be offended if i wanted to and then it became a black and white issue etc.. I was like see I wasnt offended because Obama is black I was offended by the picture. It had nothing to do with black and white which someone always has to make it boil down to.

offtopic45vn.gif who on here went natural from relaxer to perm and how long did it take?

Shemmy you've seen my hair, I'm wondering if I should just cut it all off again or try grow out the rest of the perm with the length I have now.

I would let it grow out for 6-8 months then cut off the perm..which won't be much. What made you decide to go natural?

good.gif thats exactly what i did, only had like 2 inches left of relaxed hair.. i couldnt bear to cut it all off at once..i wore roller sets cuz the 2 different hair types will get on ur nerves..

Not me. I went to the salon for a trim, and spontaneously told the beautician to cut it all off. I had less than an inch of hair when I went natural.

No big chop for me... no0pb.gif I let the perm grow out and just got the ends trimmed. I have about 1-2% perm left. Next time I trim (next week) I will be 100%.

What made me go natural? Well I got cheap and not wanting to pay for a perm...I loved when my mom did mines..and she lives in Florida..so not an option. My friends telling me that I have a texture of hair that would still be managable. Notice..I didn't say good hair...cause I think all hair is good. yes.gif
It has been a positive experience. Hubby likes my weave ponytail style...just not feeling the piece sitting on the bathroom counter. lol
offtopic45vn.gif New York...from VH-1...is all natural...she just keeps it weaved up.

Off-Topic2.gif

i would LOVE to do the big chop but my head is just too big
and i know when my natural hair starts growing back i'm gonna look like a lion girlwerewolf2xn.gif
i had my last relaxer about 2 months ago so i'm JUST starting out with the transition phase
and i'm already annoyed with my hair
i think i'm gonna braid it, canerow it back and keep that for a couple weeks

Ok so I'm caught up..and have a question for anyone that has been heavy (over 100 lbs and lost it)

offtopic45vn.gif So as you guys know I've been working out with this girl from work for past year and half. I'm more toned and lost 20lbs but it's been stalled since Nov last year. I've missed a few workouts if I take time off work and my two weeks of vacation last month. Anywho..I told my friend (the wanna be trainer) that I read that I may not be losing because when jogging I'm conditioning the heart and getting healthy but I'm not in a fatburn zone. From what I read I need to do something that keeps the heart rate steady (like a brisk walk) and not something where I'm gasping for air like I do with the 30 min run. She went off! Told me that I'm going backwards and I just don't want to work. Told me that if I would be consistent (ahhh hello a year and half is what I call consistentcy) the weight would come off. She refuse to speak to me now and told me to work out on my own (cool)

But my question is…….. who's right..

damn thank heavens u posted this
because i used to jog alot and NOTHING was happening for me
i'm trying to do at least 20 mins of interval training daily
but i want to work it up to 40 mins

I'm telling myself the same thing.

They must've had some sort of staff meeting at VSC & told them to stop giving info on the phone. Both times I called this week, the person that answered (diff people) very firmly stated that they're not a status request number, and I should call to speak to the regular customer service people (who can't even see your case). crying.gif So... looks like no more "behind the scenes" info for me, but hopefully I'll hear something very soon based on my senator's request, the service request, or plain ol' time. 6 days away from 6 months...

I don't really see the question as being rude. it's something that is polite to ask if you're talking about someone's SO. I ask it all the time, just like I'd ask how kids they have and what ages. Also ask it just in case the husband does something that I need at a later date, ie mechanic, lawyer etc...Then, when I see the person in a few months, years or whatever, I ask them how the kids are doing, ie 'how's your youngest enjoying starting kindergarten'...and say the husband worked for Jiffy Lube, something like 'I took the car into Jiffy Lube the other day, remembered your husband works for them, which one is he at?' etc...For me, it is an effective networking tool, something polite to ask.

I think perhaps the reason why some are thinking it's rude is that you are not happy with what he does?? In which case I guess you could be vague 'he works in banking/transport/hospitality/retail' etc and keep it moving. For me it's a sign of interest, not being nosy. In a corporate environment, it could be considered rude NOT to ask!

English, you are right, and I know this is the reason I find it rude and I don't want to talk about it is because I am not comfortable discussing it, my ex that is an attorney I had no problem telling ppl he was a lawyer!!! So with my hubby I just say he is in school and trying to find a part-time jobs that fits into his schedule and try to leave it at that... But for some ppl thats not good enough, they want to know what school he goes to what is he majoring... blah blah blah...

one person kept asking to see pics of him
i mean INCESSANTLY asking to see pics
i was like blink.gif
da fluck you care what he look like? tree nah grow inna him face
there's not really anything wrong with asking what he does
but when they are going to want to get into specifics that's a little too much
i try to not pry too much into ppl's personal lives when i'm not very close to them
whatever they put out there i tend to just take it at face value
i may ask a couple general questions for the sake of making convo but outside of that i tend to not go too far esp when what i ask is met with vague responses
that right away gives me the red flag that i shouldn't proceed further but some ppl can't take a hint
