Sorry to hear this but they are very strict about reviewing men who wish to immigrate from the "T" countries. Suggest you find a good hobby and we are here for you while u wait.

I hope your wait is a short one.

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresK-3 or Tourist Visa
There are no guarantees but I believe you having strong ties to to Columbia will help. It is up to your wife to show strong ties to her country but to overcome the fear of her visiting with the intent to remain it would help to show you have strong ties to Columbia also. Copies of leases/home ownership, your work contract or a letter from your employer would be a big help.

I believe the I-130 petition is valid for one year. I see you responded to and RFE in July 2010. Did you now receive another RFE? Perhaps the one closing the K-3? Confused.

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresExpedite and visa ?
An approved expedite pulls the application from it's place in line and puts it into the currently being worked pile. There is no separate facility for processing expedited applications. If your spouse were being deployed to a combat area then you would have a chance but simply PCSing within the US does not qualify.
The type of visa, 2 year of 10 year, will be determined when you enter the US and the length of time you have been married at that point.

Hope this answers your questions.

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresK-3 (for wife to live in US while waiting for CR-1)
The K-3 takes about the same amount of time to process as the CR-1. The benefit used to be that it took so long to process the visas that the K-3 would allow your spouse to enter the US as a non-immigrant and then adjust status which used to be much faster than the CR-1. Due to the processing now taking about the same time there is no benefit.

It has been stated that filing for the K-3 could actually slow down the process as the I-130 has to be matched with the I-130.

A tourist visa has nothing to do with a CR-1 or a K-3. Your spouse is more than welcome to apply for a tourist visa but she may or may not be permitted inside the US. She must show strong ties to her home country to convince the border police she will return there. Since she has a US spouse it makes the chances of her being permitted to visit less likely. She would still have to leave the US prior to the expiration of her tourist visa.

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresIs Adjustment of Status Mandatory on K3?

If you file for and somehow obtain a K-3 visa you will be permitted to come to the US. You will have to pay for and file to Adjust Status. Very expensive.

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & Procedurescan same one explaine this to me

Your wife needs to go to the US. She can't wait for you. Do you already have a sponsor lined up and have they filled out the I-864? You may be put on administrative processing which can take days or months. Your wife needs to return to the US for medical care.

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresForm I130

So she is trying for the K-3 which 99% chance will not happen. They will process the I-130 for the CR-1 visa and close the K-3 visa.

The passport photos have to meet specific requirements as to size, margins, etc. I am guessing the ones you sent weren't correct. She should have also sent evidence of an ongoing relationship with the petition. sounds like she either did not or did not send enough.

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresHelp on form I-129F for K-3 Visa

I am glad the K-3 worked for you and was faster.

To clarify on something you are correct it does not cost anymore than the CR-1 route to FILE. But when your wife arrives you will have to file to adjust status which will be another $1070 and your wife will not be able to work until she receives her employment authorization. So in the long run the K-3 cost a lot more than the CR-1. It is a question of how much you are willing to spend versus how much time you are willing to spend apart, and the K-3 is usually not any faster than the CR-1.

K-3 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresK3 Spouse visa help needed

Op hasn't been back, probably because of the time difference.

The legal way to proceed is to file for the CR-1 which will not get her a visa prior to the birth of the child. One of two things can happen. You can go to her for the birth or she can come to you. Either way it will be on the VWP. Don't expect it to be easy if she comes here as it will be virtually impossible to get the child a passport prior to the 90 days expiring. She will have to come prior to 36 weeks (some airlines earlier), give birth which is always iffy on the date, obtain all the paperwork for the passport (birth certificate which could take days or weeks), then apply for and receive the passport. Unless Dad wants to play single parent for a while (kind of hard if she breast feeds). Also the costs of giving birth is outrageous and since she would be a tourist she won't be able to get insurance. Unless you happened to add her to your insurance when you married you are out of luck there.

Thanks everyone! I contacted Juarez via e-mail and they said they sent the information via US mail on 4.06.2006. It seems that you can print the packet 3 documents out online as long as they have the packet at the consulate.

Thanks for the hint about the appointment letter...saving 5 hours at the consulate is very important!

Cheers

:D

Not to put a amper on things, just dont want you to get discouraged if it takes a while. When My packet was sent out they said It was sent out on the 22nd of dec. Well when it arrived it was post marked for the 29th of DEC. it arrived on Jan 3rd. good luck

In general, how long does it take for packet 3 to be sent out? One month? I'm not sure and wanted to get an idea of others experience with Cuidad Juarez Embassy. In addition, does anyone have contact information for the embassy regarding fiance visas?

It took about 5 weeks from the time our packet left the NVC to the time that I received packet 3 from Juarez in the U.S. My fiancee in mexico never received her packet! Someone mentioned this and blamed the mexican mail system...I agree! But you can just print everything you need online and show up at the Consulate. You need to go within 4 months of the date of your "approval" by USCIS. Good luck!

JUst a hint, if you all need some sort of approvasl letter to enter the consulate, you would have to go to the information window for that even though you print all of the forms. If you do have to go to the Info window I would reccommend that you either leave a day in advance to get the letter the day before you go into the consulate, or on the dayu you plan to go into the consulate get in the info line accross the street from the consulate at about 4:45. That is about what time the people start lining up for info. we didnt get there till the window was about to open, and we waited in line for opver 5 hours to get the appointment letter. good luck

Just got back from mex the other day and all went well. My finacee got her visa!!!!!!!

Arrived tuesday night and went to the medical then next day at 6. Waited on line outside for 5 mins.... inside for 15... she was called for a picture, then to take blood, next the x ray and exam. We were done by 7:30. Went back for the results at 2 and were out of there by 2:15. It was the blue med center across the street from the consulate.

Consulate Thursday
Arrive at 5:45
Inside at 6:45
Fiancee gives in all required papers (she was asked fro my tax papers even though i am NOT self employed)
She is interviewd at 10:30 - lasts about 10 mins
All the interview questions were generic (same as the ones mentioned here before). We had TONS of evidence for proof of relationship and all they looked at were the pictures i sent with my 129-F. I also had tons of evidence for finacial support and all they took was my letter from my job, letter from my bank, and some pay stubs.
Received here visa at 12:30

Congrats!!! Ca t wait to see wedding pics

Well, so far we have not received the SS card, but we got the I-551. As we have been married less than 2 years I assumed this would be conditional status for 2 years, but it simply says permanent resident and its expiration date is marked as 10 years. does anyone know if this means I won't have to file for removal of conditions in a year and a half, or if I need to inquire with DHS? thanks!!

We have also recieved the permanant resident card but not the SS card

I hope someone here can answer a few questions for me.

My husband has his cr1 interview on march 6. In the packet it says we must bring I864 and ds230. Of course, I submitted both of these to nvc a long time ago. Are we required to fill them out again? Also, do I understand correctly, that we need to bring passport style photos with us, yet they will take another photo of him at the medical exam?

Sorry for so many questions, just want to make sure that I'm getting it right!!

sandy

Ok, I hope I can help. We submitted our afadavit of support in july. When we went for our interview we had one prepared but they didnt take it. THey did take the ds 230. Also 2 passport sized photos is what they asked us for. Also as you pointed out they take a picture at the medical exam. good luck on your interview

Thanks for all the details. It really helps me relax about that day. I still have some questions, mostly for Tabta, but for anyone who has recently gone to Ciudad Juarez:

What did your husband wear to the interview? What did it seem like the "dress code" is?

Why didn't you go in with him? The packet 3 asked who would be coming to the interview, and we said I would be there, but I wonder if they have changed policy since then, and they aren't letting spouses in.

So, how much was your hotel? How close is it? and you said it was bad. How bad? Did you feel unsafe? Was it gross?

You guys look so cute in your picture! I'm so happy for you both. You must be very excited about sharing your country with your husband! I know Armando is so looking forward to meeting my family and friends! Only a little while longer!

Ok so here I go, hope I dont forget anything. He wore jeans and a nice dress shirt with a black suade jacket. He looked very gap in my opinion. He seemed to be better dressed than aot of the people there. The fanciest I saw was khaki´s.
As someone else stated, they now have a sign hanging on the door saying people that are applying for k 1 , k3, cr1 and IR 1 visas cant have anyone go in with them unless they need physical help (they are disabled)

Our hotel was the closest to the counsulate and it was 498 pesos a night. It wasnt so bad. THe room was okay and the location was great. The bad part was the employees. Before we went we called and asked if we could have soemthing faxed there. they said yes and that it was a free service. well when we went to get the fax they wanted to charge us 160 pesos. needless to say they still have the fax. also when i went to check in they tried to charge me for a phone call. because if you make calls on the phone it costs even if they are local. I told them I did not make any calls and I asked when it was. They said monday at 5. well we checked in monday at 9. I told them that and they still charged me for it until my husband came in and talked to them.
i hoped i have helped a bit

Hi we are new :D , we just send the 1-129f and we are really nervous about the whole thing, well first we have to introduce ourselves we are Justin and Ari (arizona-mexico city), we met eachother on line almost 3 years ago the entire time this has been an incredibile experience for both of us, se love eachother so much that we decided to make this huge step, we also have a lot of doubts so that means that probably we are going to ask for advice every once in a while (we hope you don't mind :P ). The interview day went rather quickly compared to the day of the medical. We were up and in line by 5. There were already several people in front of us (like 75). I talked to a guy while I was waiting and he said he was second in line and had got there at 2 30 in the morning. Well we waited and fernando finally got in at 7:25. I went back to the room to get warm. We stayed at hotel La Playa. The location was the only good thing about it. I came back out of the room at 10 in anticipation of a long wait but at 11 55 Fernando called my phone saying he was out. He got the visa. He said the only things they asked were when we got married, my birthday, if we were living together, and what I was doing in Mexico. They also asked him about his job here in mexico and his degree. That was it. pretty painless. They only evidence he showed was about 10 photos and a letter from his job just to verify that he was working here. We had lots more evidence but that was all that they needed to see. I would really reccommend to other people to get there early, because the way things are now, the people that come late have to come back the next day. well that is about it. if you have any more questions feel free to email.

Hey guys, It has been a stressful day. We were up and out at 5 30. We still hadnt recieved the lettter, so we planned to go to the window and get it and then to the medical. well they said the window didnt open till 8 to come back then. so when we came back at 20 to 8 there was no one there. So we asked a security guard and he pointed across the street. there was already a line waiting across the street. we would have stayed and waited but we didnt know. so after a while we decided we had to do something else because if not we wouldnt make it for the medical. so i went to ask the clinic if they would accept a scanned copy. so i went to a place to print off the copy I had in my email. I paid 70 pesos to print one sheet. After that Fernando went for the medical. This was about 9. It took about 2 hours. He went to the one right beside the consulate. He had to take the varicella vaccine and the MMR. All together we paid around 230. At 9 o clock i got in line at the information window. Fernando joined me when he got out of the medical. we waited there until 2. well that is all for now. sorry this is so rushed, we are exhausted. I will tell more later. wish us luck

So, I guess I'm going to the interview after all... I just couldn't stand taking any chances that they'll delay the paperwork any longer or that something might go wrong. I leave Wednesday already! But no return ticket as of yet, even the day-of prices I've found seem to be the same as any for so few days in advance, so I guess I'll wait in hopes my husband and I can travel together!

Just wanted to say good luck. I am very anxious to hear all of the details considering I will be going a few days later
