Waivers (I-601 and I-212) and Administrative Processes (221g)removing criminal record U.K.
Wow it sounds like you have a very complicated case. We filed for a waiver and was approved for multiple crimes that were over 25 years ago. We are now in the middle of our AOS. I thought it was very rare that once your waiver was approved that you could be denied your AOS? I guess anything is possible with immigration.

I hope things work out for you.

Best wishes,
Vicky

Was just commenting on what he wrote Mary. He doesn't give details on what he is trying to get removed. It also strikes me a little funny that they expect people to admit to committing crimes that they were not arrested for.

I hope it does work for him. One less person who has to suffer through this part of the process.

Not trying to be negative here but I'm not sure that will help you.

You are suppose to declare you criminal history even if it is not on your record.

Waivers (I-601 and I-212) and Administrative Processes (221g)I-601 status...London delay
Hang in there people.

London does slow down about this time of year. We filed our waiver In April of last year and it took us over 20 weeks to get an approval. It comes in sperts and sputters and it's soooooooooo nerve wrecking.

beckstew,

I hope that works for you. That is actually what the I-601 waiver is for. To submit all your proof of rehabilitation, charater letters and such. You might want to do a little more research and check into it some more. If you do, then there is another site called Immigrate2us.net. They have an I-601 waiver section that has lots of example letters and info. You could also post your question there and get some other opionions.

Good luck and best wishes,

Yeah I agree with Boiler. The US doesn't care that he was granted a pardon for his crimes. All the form ask is if you were convited. If he was charged and convicted he would need to answer yes on the form. I believe there is a waiver available to someone who has a possesion charge of less than 30 grams . Have a read through this http://travel.state....ities_1364.html

Good luck

Hey that's great news that your complete now. I remember when we found out we were complete but still had to wait on the letter. It's soooooooooooo nerve wrecking.

I'm not sure where you are from but my husband was in Northern Ireland and it took about a week to get our letter. If your in Great Britian I would think it would only take a couple of days. Hang in there and hope your letter contains the Best of news.

well hello dwar49 and everyone.

Well I was wishing things were speeding up some since our waiver was there but it sounds like it goes back and forth. Ours took well over 20 weeks from the day we filed until it was approved. It seemed like forever and was a bit longer than a few others. It's very hard if no impossible to figure out when and what is going to happen with this part of immigration. Well for any part of immigration actually. lol I do wish all of you the best and I do hope you all hear something soon.

As far as us. Well he came over right before thanksgiving. We were married on December 22 and we filed his AOS paperwork yesterday on my birthday. WOW what a busy couple of months. Between changing my name and doing his paperwork ..........well I've almost had my fill. lol Now all I have to do is figure out Income tax's and how to file them. OMG!

You guys all stay strong. Hopefully things will start picking up soon. At least it seems there hasn't been many new I-601 filed.

Best wishes,
Vicky

 YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now you can sit back and relax for a while. Even though I know you will check to see if they updated the list. You just can't help yourself.

Did anyone else who's filed make the list yet? They are being awful quiet if they did.

Oh I hope you don't have to wait 19 weeks. I don't wish that on anyone. I kept planning on the max they were stating and thought I would be ok with that. I kept telling myself that anyway. Then when it went over the 16 weeks it drove me mad................. I think the best thing to do is plan on the maximum amount of time then anything before that will be great.

Hey there

I'm still peaking in. Just not as often. I got a pm from Really worried too. I'm so glad he finally got some answers and was put on the list. I hope they push his case forward now and get his timeline back where it should be. If so he should be hearing something soon.

I know how flustrating it is waiting to be put on that dang list. It can't be much longer for you now. You must have got the same guy who did ours and took 4 weeks to send it up. :D At least they are picking up speed now so after you get on there you should breeze right through.

Hey and by the way. WHERE IS EVERYONE ELSE? Think we have a quiet bunch on here now.

Well we have 10 days before he comes. I've been trying to get everything cleaned and arranged before he gets here. I swear I take two steps forward and one backwards. I have to work Saturday but I don't mind. Need the money and we get Monday off so it won't be so bad. I know I'll be running around next week like a chicken with my head cut off. I don't think it's really sunk in yet. I'm still in denial it's been so long since we have been together. He was here last Thanksgiving and I was there at the end of March. It's been almost 8 months since I've been able to touch him. Just doesn't seem real that in 10 days I won't ever have to go that long again. I was laughing this evening and told him It should take at least a few months for us to start getting on each others nerves. Don't think we will have time to know what hit us for a while. Thanksgiving, Marriage, Christmas, AOS...............oh the fun begins now. ;)

You hold on tight Val, things will start happening soon for you.

Yeah I'm still laughing but I think it's from madness now. :jest: I think I've done went loopy
It's just so insane. One minute I'm fine and the next it's doom and gloom. I've decided it best if I set my goal for the end of this month. I might be able to deal with things better if I look at it that way. So I'm going to try my best to be patient until October 31st. IF we get good news then he still wants to try to come over before Thanksgiving. If we don't hear something by then, well I would suggest that no children come here knocking for Halloween.  I'll be busy howling at the moon that night.
Well I'm off to go hunting......... I've got a mouse in the house and I've declaired war.......... :P Nasty boogers.

Hi New Orleans,

Stop in anytime. It's just me left in the London group right now. Most everyone else has got their decision on their waiver. They check in on me often even though I've done nothing but whine for the past few weeks. And bless their hearts they still come in and check on me. :P I'm just getting very impatient because when we first started this the wait time in London was 8 to 12 weeks. Then 12 to 15 and right before ours got close they took any estimate of time off. We just started our 19th week and have been under review for 3 weeks. I know we should be hearing something soon but it's sooooooooo nerve wrecking. I know London is usually one of the quicker to do waivers but it still seems like an eternity.

I can't believe your still sane after all that time waiting just for your waiver to make it to DHS. Probably one of the closest embassy's to the United States and it takes 2 years for it to get there? It is just mind blowing. I guess nothing in the process should surprise me but it does. I won't take your bet with the beer. I don't like beer much but I do hope you hear something sooner than you think.

I know it doesn't help but I do wish you all the best. Oh and I hope your thumb feels better soon.

Hi everyone,

Still waiting here. This will be starting our 18th week now. They put us under review on the 15th but nothing yet. Friday they completed one case and it had been under review since the beginning of July :help:  They seem to be slowing down quite a bit now. They even resorted in taking their "esitmated" time line off the waiver list. :( It used to say 12 to 15 weeks, then they changed it to say 15 weeks and then they just took it off all together. I'm hanging in there except for a few bald spots and fingernails chewed off. Gosh I never thought this would get to me this hard. I've been though quite a bit in my life but I can honestly say this is the most stressful thing. At least it seems like it right now.

Thanks for checking on me. jpkeswim it sounds like you had a wonderful belated honeymoon. Sounds like you both had a great time. I might take some time off here for a while after we hear something but if we get approved then I'm sure I'll be back checking on all the other things we will be doing. We will be checking in on you.

Hey Paul I hope your GC comes soon. Your used to waiting so this should be a piece of cake for you. :P Wouldn't it be nice if just once something went quick for you? But thanks again for checking in on us.

Mary, Wow it sounds like it's a piece of cake getting into the UK but similar to the US as far as the rest. They just call it different things. I guess maybe they make it more difficult to marry just to make sure you really want to do that? At least you will be together while you wait and I'm sure they will let you stay. They just want you to work at it a bit. Nothing worth having is easy i guess. ;)

Ok ladies and gents...........i'm off to pull a few more hairs out.

Well thanks for checking in and all the well wishes. I think I'm at the edge now looking over. It's almost driving me insane now. I've been expecting them to change the estimated time but now they just took it off. No more 12 to 15 weeks. They aren't even going to give you a guess now. I know I should be grateful that London doesn't take as long as the other embassy's but sorry I just can't help myself. I need this part to be done soon. I've never in my life had much patience and I think I've done ok up until now. This stage is just like a slow lingering torture. Hi there,

Thanks so much Beverly. I'm keeping everything crossed and hoping for the best. Hopefully we will get some news in the next couple of weeks.

Hey Paul

Sounds like your doing well. I'm sure the AOS is stressful too. I go in and have a peek once in a while just in case we do get approved. I've looked at some of the paperwork but I really would rather only stress about one thing at a time.

Aww that sounds so nice. Living close to the ocean. The closest thing we have around here is a lake. I guess that's better than nothing. :D

Well if you guys don't mind. I think I'll direct your positive thoughts and finger crosses to Beetee for this week. She needs her visa to come RIGHT NOW. There is a plane with her name written all over it. :joy: I don't mind waiting until next week to hear something for ours.

No becca they just do it whenever. No rhyme or reason to it. It's not even current so I don't know why I rant so much about it. There are cases that were done for weeks that never showed up on the list until almost 2 or 3 weeks after they had already gotten their letter. It's just the only connection you have to see if anything is going on with your case but it's not updated on a regular basis so I don't know why I bother. Just seems that everything is getting to me now. Hey in a couple more weeks I might even be bald.

Ok I'm going to go crawl back under my rock now.

Thanks Irish,

We have everything crossed that we can possibly get crossed. You know it's strange, but I was ok until now. The closer it gets the worse it is. We check the waiver list a million times a day. It's kind of useless but it doesn't matter we still have to check it. :P Not really much we can do but just wait and see what happens.
You know we really should count our blessings. Compaired to some of the other embassy's London is still one of, if not the fastest on waivers. So many of the others take months and even years to hear something. I kind of feel guilty for whinning so much sometimes. But hey that's why I'm the Princess of Whine.

Thanks for the well wishes,
