US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionI 134 Forms

Maybe I am wrong in saying the following, but I will anyway. You are engaged to this man and you will be getting married. What kind of private information are you planning on keeping from him? When you say "I just can't believe I have to divulge so much personal financial information to someone who is not yet my husband"...hmmm, you sound like you maybe are not sure about things?

I couldn't imagine holding information from my fiancee, but that is just me I guess.

Full disclosure all around...That defines partnership.

diito. anyways, with with the I-134 you don't need to divulge more personal financial information than you need to meet the income requirements. you can simply use your earnings from your employment if that meets the requirements. I didn't list any assets in my I-134.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionPregnant, Philippines, Interview Date Received, Scared

MISC Complications: Fiancee has a 5 year old son who was listed on original petition submitted by me. Son will not be coming with Fiancee initially (speaks no english plus need to prepare US situation and get fiancee comfortable here before having a new baby + 5 year old non-english speaking son).. Newborn baby girl will be coming with. Son will be following in the next couple of years.. (Fiancee has 11 bro/sis. Son will be well taken care of)

children can usually easily adapt to a new situation, probably more so than us adults. My wife and I were also considering having her daughter follow to join. After much consideration decided the most important thing was being together as a family. I know everyone's circumstances are different. I wish you well in whatever you decide to do.

US Embassy and Consulate Discussionregarding K2 follow to join
Since your visa was issued Nov 21, 2006, the k-2 would need to be issued by Nov 21, 2007. since I'm sure you are aware of how long it takes to get an interview in Manila, would suggest you start the process as soon as possible.
I would sugest calling the Embassy at 011-63-528-6300 to see what is required to get an appointment. you will also need the DS-157 for the K-2 visa application. the DS-230 is not used in Manila.
also I would suggest posting this in the Philippines forum. someone there might have had experience with K-2 follow to join.

best of luck.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionDelbros Fees

What is the fee that you have to pay at the embassy for the Delbros to deliver the Visa? My girl has her interview on the 4th of june and I want to make sure we're ready. Thanks!

It varies depending on where the visa will be delivered. I think we paid around 165PHP for the Manila area. I don't think it will be much more than 200-300PHP for any area. I'm sure if you have 500PHP for the delivery, you will be adequately prepared and even have a some left over.

Thanks so much, what is this I hear about paying 380.00 dollars for the visa! I thought it was only 100?!?

K-1 is $100. the $380 is probably for CR Visa.

UPDATE!!!!

My baby just texted me! She told me her final interview is scheduled after lunchbreak.

I guess she was put through more than one interview but she wasn't specific. She told me she would text me again when she's completely finished and that she was going back inside.

She sounded happy so I guess it's going well! Whew! smile.gif

nice to hear. there is a pre-interview done before the one with the Co. she probably only has the interview with the CO left. your almost thru this... good.gif

hey, dont worry so much. We had our interview on August 13. We were one of the last to be interviewed close to 11:30. I would say that most got approved. Out of the many we saw only 2 seemed upset. Most were giving thumbs up and were smiling when they came out of the interview.

Anyhow our interview was very quick about 3 minutes. If your paperwork is in order, I think you are ok.

Hang in there...

LOL! I'm literally looking for "Philippines" on everyone's profiles, LOL! I'll admit that it reassures me most to hear these comments from those who went through the Manila Embassy as I'm always hearing that Manila seems to be the toughest of all the embassies when it comes to these issues.

Well, I'm worried because I might have screwed a date up on my affidavit of support and I just barely meet the 125% poverty level requirement.

US Embassy and Consulate DiscussionChild at the interview
QUOTE (Derrel & Lai @ Dec 7 2007, 10:24 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Do the consulates usually ask questions of the child? In particular, of an 8 year old or young age?

Also, is there a requirement to have an affidavit from the natural father/mother permitting the child to travel with the beneficiary to the US?

1.0n what questions are asked the child, probably depends on the age. my daughter was 10 years old at the time of the interview. she was asked one question, how old are you.

2. on travel permit, that could depend on the custody situation with the child.

hopefully you haven't booked the tickets to close to interview date. no guarantee St Lukes will have forwared medical results and passport to the Embassy by the interview date if medical only done couple of days prior to interview. even if all goes well at the interview, that could delay the issuance of the visa.

We called the embassy number and spoke to the lady there. She also gives you your medical date (Which you can be early for!).

Be sure to pay DelBros fee before interview, to save time there. there is a Metrobank near Philippine Immagration building (north of Rizal park) to get it.

And, when in Ermitta for the clinic, go to the PCIBank next to Cherry Blossoms hotel, and Robinson's mall and pay for the US Customs form required (save a lot of travel)

huh.gif pay for these forms? you will be given the 6059b ( customs declaration ) and I-94 on the flight to the USA.
you can check them out on the CBP website.

I can't be too much help with the embassy in the Phillippines, but I know in Vietnam you'd almost better call once a week and bug them to find out. This is because the mail system in Vietnam is not good, and if you just wait, there is the possibility you might never receive Packet 4 and then you might miss your interview date.

In Vietnam, it's a least 2 months between when they receive your Packet 3 and the interview date, sometimes longer. If you're lucky, you get almost a month's notice. But that information is only for the curious because your situation is different.

If I were you, I'd delete this post and re-post it in the SE Asia forum. You'll probably get better responses there. Good luck!

Think the Op is going thru Embassy in Bangkok, not Manila. I'd check the instructions in your packet 3.

Bangkok appears to have an interview schedule in pdf file on it's website.

as far as Philippine Immigration goes, I do not have a definative answer on the problems she might encounter having the K-1 Visa on her passport. CFO, don't see how she could get the sticker which is needed to depart Philippines for USA. could you book separate filghts, so her departure would be from Hong Kong to USA? guess that depends on Philippine Immigration. perhaps you could post this in the Philippines Forum. maybe someone there has had a similar experience or join Mag Anak as has beed suggested, which is a Philippine exclusive Forum.

Hello, I can't answer your question but you might want to try to post it at MAGANAK@yahoo.com

I don't have the answer, but do see a potential problem. she is still considered to be married to her ex in the Philippines. The Embassy in Hong Kong will attach the K-1 visa in her passport. this is an issue I haven't seen addressed here in VJ.
