Philippines	First Celebration of Birthday in America	foung thid on filipinp birthday party, You know You're At A Filipino Birthday Party When: 1. Some of the guests didn't bring a gift, but brought extra uninvited kids. 2. When the cake says Happy Birthday Totoy instead of the child's real name. 3. The party is at Chuck E. Cheese but they brought their own food and cake. 4. It's a child's party but there are more grown-ups than children. 5. It's Totoy's 1st Birthday and the party food is pansit, lumpia, puto, and 10 cases of Beer. 6. For entertainment, instead of playing pin the tail on the donkey, there is usually a televised baseball, football game,or a live fight. 7. They don't sing Happy Birthday; instead everyone is playing mahjong. 8. The party was over at 5:00, its 10:00 and the party is just starting. 9. You find out from Tito Boy that Uncle Nonong is taking viagra. 10. The host calls someone whos on their way and tells them to stop and get some ice. 11. The guests start arriving and the hostess disappears to get ready. 12. You hear someone go up to the birthday child and say "Totoy, ang laki mo! I'm going to have to get you something next week when I get paid." 13. The party is Saturday, and you get a call from the hostess Friday night saying, Im giving Totoy a birthday party tomorrow at 3:00. 14. Some guests bring gifts that are still in the store bag unwrapped. 15. There always seems to be more family than friends at the party. 16. You have the party over at your brothers because he just bought a new house and he has a pool. 17. The cake didn't come from the store; it came from the mother of the comadre of your friends sister who makes really good cakes. 18. You are told you have to save your plate and fork you ate your food with, so you can eat your cake. 19. Someone calls and says they can't make it, but asks that you save them some cake. 20. Guests are wrapping up cake to take to Tatay,Chading, Girlie, Tita,and Nining. 21. The party music is coming from a small boom box. 22. The birthday child is dressed from head to toe in Tommy/Polo. 23. US Embassy and Consulate Discussion	Manila Embassy Interview	hi guys maybe someone can help me. i guess at this point im kinda lost and would like to know peoples experiences with regards to having their children follow later on in the future (not as a derivatory status). in filling out one of the forms, i cant remember which i think it is DS156K, there is a question there asking to name the children of the fiance. the following questions are "accompanying you?" (which i answered no to since there are still things that we have to fix with regards to childs b/c) then there is that question which asks whether the "child to follow"... my question is, well we are planning to have the child follow here if he wills it that way but right now, we have decided to wait a couple of years. What will be my answer to the question that asks "to follow?" US Embassy and Consulate Discussion	Manila Embassy Interview	if child follows more than one year after your K-1 is issued, then you will need to file a I-130. k-2 benefits expire after one year. even if you choose to have child come after two years, still check follow to join. you would still have option for a k-2 if you later decide to have the child follow sooner than two years. We are doing the cr-1/cr-2 and just paid the IV bill....we should be able to send the ds-230 next using the short cuts but i'm not sure exactly what papers to send as the philippines is on there list of countries that need the part 2...so if anyone has done this step and can tell me exactly which forms and documents i need i'd appreciate it. US Embassy and Consulate Discussion	Manila Embassy Interview	i just called the Embassy and after giving my case number was told no appointment yet. operator knew question i'd ask. she said a December was most likely and to try calling same time next month. the November appointments have already been filled. i expected it to probably be a Dec. interview, but why do they have to wait so long to set the date. i try calling DOS tomorrow to see if told same thing. The CFO sticker is not a requirement during her interview at the embassy. It's the Philippine immigration that will look for that at the point of departure. I have no answer with regard to CFO validity. I don't know if anything has changed since our interview in Dec 06. we just submitted tax transcripts from IRS, which were accepted. 2. bank statements do not need to be signed by a bank officier. US Embassy and Consulate Discussion	Friend in need	As long as they get married before the lapse of 90 days from the date of arrival here in US, she can file AOS anytime she wants, even if the I-94 and visa hadd already expired. that's how I understand it. the K-1 Visa gives you up to six months to enter the USA. once you enter you have 90 days to get married. if one enters the USA the day before the visa expires, you would still have 90 days to get married.
