Aloha,

Yes... Very sensitive subject. But it's becoming more pertinent by the day. Many friends are imploring me to get one written, and I am so confused about what to do.

Guys - how did you handle this touchy area??
Pinays - What are your feelings on pre-nups?? You ok with them or find them insulting??

Mahalo,

PhilippinesSending Money Home
as far as sending money, my wife and I decided not to send money on a regular monthly basis, but on a need basis. we'll put aside money, then send it when there is a need; medical, home repair, etc...
I agree sending $700 a month seems to be alot. an unwillingness to justify what it is being used for would raise a red flag with me. you definately need some open communication with your fiancee on this issue to avoid future complications.
best of luck to you.

Philippinesthe words to WOWWOWWEE theme song
don't know how it translates into english, but here are the words.
Wowowee theme song

Wowowee theme song by
Willie Revillame

Sa luzon, sa visayas, at sa mindanao
Saan man sulok ng mundo
Makakasama nyo
Magbibigay saya sa bawat isa
At maghahatid ng kakaibang ligaya

Kadugo, kababayan at kapamilya

Saan man nagmumula

Statement from bank on all account activity

What if I keep most of my money in a mortage investment company and dont keep a large balance at the bank? They arent asking for this type of activity. I am way over the minimum income level.

Do I need life insurance?

Also the newest i-134 expired on 4/07.

Well I just talked to the bank and they WONT do whats asked for.

All they will do is re-mail me my monthly statements. They wont give me a letter declaring all 3 items asked for. Now what?

If you are employed and your job earnings are way above the minimum income level, then it is not required to include assets in the I-134. a copy of tax return or transcript and W-2 can be used to back up your reported income on the I-134.

I have to agree about not stressing out. You can search through here and see where most people dont have any problems as long as all the paperwork is in order. The only time that any one has a problem is when there is something wrong in the paperwork or something makes the consul suspicious. Then they will get tough. Im sure if anyone had any problems with this particular CO it would have been posted before. There must have been something that caught that CO's attention or maybe he or she just had a bad day. As far as being afraid that the CO might see what u write on here and take some type of action, let me say I work for the Government and its illegal for us to take action in a official capacity for what someone writes about us. If u not going to discuss what happened just keep it to yourself instead of getting everyone worried for nothing.

If you think its for nothing then have a nice day. I posted what I saw with my own eyes and ears. Im not going to be bullied into talking unitil she is in America.

Tell me how would you prove that someone lost your paperwork or worse?

And your statement makes no sense if you read my post. This did NOT just happen to us alone. I could hear the girls and the consol talking back and forth from the chairs. The last girl was in line at the finish window asking about her "problems" in front of us. She did not get approved.

Dude, Im not trying to argue with you. Im sure your case and even the girls in front of you that got denied may have had some reason. We don't know from the information. All Im saying is there is no reason to get our spouses/fiances stressed out and worried by making blanket statements without giving any info. You are not being bullied. Its good that u did approved but for those still waiting, there is enough stress without being worried that the consul is going to be a jerk to them when they get to the interview. Most people have good experiences during their interview. If there are some instances where the interview went badly, then there is usually something behind it. If everything is prepared and ready it usually goes smoothly, and yes u cant prove that they lost something you just have to prove to them whatever they want. I hope everything goes well with you in your new life, and for all others there is nothing stress about. Just be prepared, relax and if something does come up, deal with it then. That's all you can do.

Agreed.

This message is for OT:

I can understand how you care so much about your fiance and don't want to risk anything but you also have to understand that all of us are in the same exact boat as you and have the same exact feelings as you do.

I agree with everyone else--posting blanket commets about a horrid experience without backing it up is not a good tactic here. For people like me who had neither the time or money to make an emergency trip to be there during the interview like myself, I really don't need this added stress right now.

I appreciate what you were attempting to do in this post but you did many of us more harm than good, and I'm sorry but your comment about "Don't be all sad if you weren't even there with her" is rather insentive and rude. I'm in a dire situation right now. My fiance lost her job months ago, hasn't been able to find a new one, and I've been sending her money each month to be sure she can EAT, so sorry, but I can't afford a trip to be there on her interview.

You should really take other's feelings into consideration before you throw off comments like this because you have NO idea how stressful my life has been these past few months. Having a fiance to constantly worry about whether or not she eats every day isn't an easy thing to process let alone the fact she also has a thyroid condition she can barely afford to medicate herself for.

I'm sorry, but your post was VERY offensive and I feel quite angry right now.

Don't make assumptions and don't presume to say that those of us who weren't with our fiances at their interview shouldn't "cry about it" because some of us DO have extenuating circumstances, you know.

Unless your fiance has been suddenly fired from her job and has a sickness I must have treated the minute she gets to the US then you have NO idea what I'm going through nor do you have any right to make those claims about those of us who CAN'T be with our fiances during their interviews.

good.gif let's get some positive vibes going here.

My fiancee got approved! kicking.gif It was less than 3 mins interview for her - that's it. And I gathered that the consul she got just asked her name, my name as petitioner, how we met, what's my job, how old are both of us, she looked at the very limited pictures the Prescreening girl took and forwarded (not all pictures and documents were asked by the ways). The prescreening was even more strict than the consul.

Fiancee was hungry and thirsty with all the waiting though. So make sure to fill up before you enter the gate.

As soon as we are home I will post very specific details. I promise you that. All I can say is that the men should be there. If the man is not there you really take your chances. There were 3 men there of which I was one of them. Thats 3 out of 200. I wont criticize not going with your gal but dont come here and complain if she doesnt get approved. I think this is the most important day you will ever face. This process is 90% preparation and 10% presentation but that 10% helps if its done correctly.

I dont want to say if the consol is male/female right now.

Congrats. good.gif but why unnecessarily stress out the ladies who will not have their fiance at the interview with them.

we took our daughter to my wife's interview. I was asked if applications had been submitted together, since in that situation the interview is usually at least scheduled on the same day. hello beckypua..

from DS-156K form:

THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS MUST BE ATTACHED IN ORDER TO APPLY FOR A FIANCE(E) NONIMMIGRANT VISA.
Your Birth Certificate
Birth Certificates of All Children Listed in Number Five
Death Certificate of Spouse (if any)
Marriage Certificate (if any)
Divorce Decree (if any)
Police Certificates
Evidence of Engagement to Your Fiancé(e)
Evidence of Financial Support

NOTE All of the above documents will also be required by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) when you apply for adjustment of status to lawful permanent resident. The USCIS will accept these documents for that purpose.

Never heard of this being required before. Those documents chould already have been submitted with the original application and you should have the originals in hand for the interview.
Do you have a DS 156K form other than this one?

Either DOS has changed the requirements or you have an incorrect information.
Where did you get the info?
PS. NBI clearance is as same as police clearance for the entire Philippines.
I guess you could get police clearance for your province or city if you wanted to. I've seen where peeps even got Barangay clearance. Both are normally not needed tho.

I agree. my wife didn't need a local police clearance for her interview last December.
I just looked at the online appointment packet and it only mentions the NBI Clearance.
