I not many have posted the x-ray even being taken at the POE. I'm thinking it's for some other reason. Don't worry, if you've passed the medical and issued a Visa, you shouldn't have any problem with that.

from what I've read, many have done their medical early just by dropping in. I've seen others post

The Doctor at your medical will decide which vaccinations you will need. the cost is included in the medical. The Td shot usaully is not available at St. Lukes, so you'll have to get that one here.

If I recall your planned POE is SFO. My wife's POE was SFO and she was not asked for her x-ray. I don't recall anyone being asked for the x-ray at SFO. my wife put her's in her check-in luggage. she put it where it was easily accessable in case it was asked for.

Do i need to get a new one? eversince im 14 yrs.old we never moved out to another place and never get to live from other country as well. in short i dont need to get any police clearance from other countries. can i still use my police clearance although it expired just last nov.? i got my NBI and its not yet expired though.

Thanks and godbless all. good.gif

You dont need a Police Clearance for the interview since you have not gone outside the Philippines. Not even a local Police Clearance since it is not a requirement for the USEM interview. Your current unexpired NBI should suffice although getting a recent one is better. Goodluck and happy holidays.smile.gif

PhilippinesCo Sponsorship Manila
true there is high fraud factor in Manila, but I don't think the use of a co sponsor would be the determining factor. what evidence is included to show a genuine relationship is what the CO will be looking at to make that determination.
On the financil aspects, what the CO will be trying to determine is if your fiance would become a public charge once here inthe USA. I do not think the use of a co sponsor would be the only reason if the visa is denied.
If you don't feel you would qualify without a co sponsor, the make sure you have one. also what is important is your financial situation at the time of the interview. If it has improved from what it is now, make sure to include evidence such as pay check stubs and a letter from your employer.
as you progress in the process, make sure to update your timeline. it will be helpful to those trying to provide you with some answers.
best of luck with your upcoming journey. good.gif

A certificate of marriage will be sent to you.) this is incorrect she has never been married or engaged. i sent ecensus an email. has this ever happened to anyone here? what do we do? unsure.gif

There are lot of people who got hit everytime in NBI because of the same names, but i don't think the NSO will be wrong because you supplied the birth date and parents name, theres no two children born to the same parents with the same name at the same time. I guess you have to deal with this at NSO personally. Its possible that your fiancee is a victim of identity theft, someone stole her birth certificate and use it for marriage.

If there are errors or a situation that spidergirl suggests, hopefully you'll be able to have it corrected since the Embassy will have the same info from NSO. best of luck good.gif

did NVC give you your case number? if so Manila should have an electronic file of your petition. could be just the physical petition hasn't arrive in Manila. there is no packet 3 for Manila, so that's some misinfo from NVC. The Fiance Visa Appointmnt Packet will not be sent by the Embassy until you have been scheduled an interview date.

Pre-Departure Registration

Everyone who is over the age of 12. Here's a quote from the CFO web site at: www.cfo.gov.ph

Filipino emigrants or those leaving the country to settle permanently abroad are required to register with the Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO). Part of its registration requirements is attendance in the Pre-Departure Orientation Seminar (PDOS) to prepare them for settlement overseas. Those who are 12 years old and below are exempt from attending the PDOS. They must, however, be registered, even if by proxy. Children of emigrants, aged 13 to 19, are required to attend the Peer Counseling Program to help facilitate their adjustment to a new environment.

I think Roy just wanted to show the law where it quotes the parental authority of the mother over illegitimate children. The provision just happens to include an illegitimate child's entitlement to inheritance in case he/she wants to claim it in the future.

Can someone shed some light on what I am supposed to have here for a step child that I will by trying to get over here in the next year?

I am waiting on one piece of paper for almost the past 2 months to try to get my new wife and her step child over here to the U.S. I am filing two I-130 petitions for her and the child. I will be going the CR1 route. We were married 11/19/07 this year. But now I was told by some member of VJ that I need bonafide documentation showing that the mother has full custody of the child. The child was born out of wedlock. She doesn't know where the father is. The child's birth certificate doesn't have the fathers name on it. It has the mother's maiden name. We just had it changed with a attorney through the N.S.O because the original birth certificate had incorrect information on it. Are you following this? Now I'm told that it needs to show both parents on the child's birth certificate. But the kid has never even seen here original father. She is 10 yrs old and the father hasn't been seen since she was born. She has been with the mother since she was born.

What needs to be done here so I don't have a problem when this gets to Manila by a consulate to review?

was that member from Philippines or familar with Philippine Family Law? Family law varies from country to country.

from Family Code of the Philippines:

Chapter 3. Illegitimate Children

Art. 175. Illegitimate children may establish their illegitimate filiation in the same way and on the same evidence as legitimate children.
The action must be brought within the same period specified in Article 173, except when the action is based on the second paragraph of Article 172, in which case the action may be brought during the lifetime of the alleged parent. (289a)

Art. 176. Illegitimate children shall use the surname and shall be under the parental authority of their mother, and shall be entitled to support in conformity with this Code. The legitime of each illegitimate child shall consist of one-half of the legitime of a legitimate child. as far as I know, nothing. this is the same situation as my step daughter. In the Philippines, the mother has sole custody of an illegitimate child. At the interview, not one question was asked about our daughter's biological father.

Philippinesnew USCIS fees go into effect July 30th

We are greatly affected by the increase of fees. For one, I and my child will be traveling together so this means, we have to AOS together too ($1,010 x 2!!!..correct me if I am wrong). On the other hand, if we have to pursue CR-1 now, we were not able to send my child's I-130 same time as mine because we are planning of sending it along with our AOS package. Worst case, I can not tag her along. :crying:

if your child is under 14 and AOS same time as you, the fee for your child would be $600.

Philippinesnew USCIS fees go into effect July 30th

The reason the EAD and AP fees are shown separately are for those poor souls that filed the AOS and/or EAD and/or AP before the fee increases and will have to pay the new fees for EAD and AP for renewals, as or if needed while awaiting the AOS adjudication.

What's the source for your information on the EAD and AP being included on the AOS? I trust you, but theres nothing on this form that indicates that this is true, and I would like to see for myself. Thanks :)

It's at the bottom of page two on the new USCIS Fee Schedule pdf.

Adjustment applications and ancillary benefits – The new application fee for an I-485 is a package fee that includes associated EAD and advance parole applications. Thus, if you file an I-485 with the fee listed above, while you will still need to submit applications for an EAD and advance parole, you will not need to pay a separate fee so long as your adjustment application is pending. However, if you filed your I-485 before this fee change, to apply for or renew your EAD or advance parole, you must file a new application with the new fee for those applications.

basically, when she has an EAD or her green card. she would file an I-765 for an EAD when she AOS. seems to take about 3 months to receive the EAD. she can apply for her SSN after arriving here. best to do it no later than 2 to 3 weeks before I-94 expires, otherwise will have to wait till she has her EAD or green card.
