I've waited for more than 3 months to finally write this...APPROVED!!! NOA2 was received by my husband today. Thank God! Last week, I posted "DOCUMENT OTHER THAN CARD/TRAVEL DOCUMENT MAILED TO APPLICANT" topic here asking what that means. I thought it was an RFE or something else. Our I-130 was approved on August 17 but was returned because my husband forgot to change his address online. They re-mailed it on September 3 and he received it today (Sept.10). Thank God and good luck to all. NVC, here we come. Please be good to us.

QUOTE (PK and PK @ Sep 15 2009, 12:37 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hi All,
My interview was scheduled at Mumbai Consulate @ 7.30am today. Was there at 6.45am. they start taking you in only at 7am and doesnt make a difference how early you've come there as you are called for the interview only on random basis. no particular order.
Finished fingerprints by 7.45am and was called for the 1st interview at 8am. it was an Indian guy who handed me back the original documents. Then asked for my Passport and then the following questions:
1. Passport still holds maiden name.
2. Are you still working? and as what?
3. Is husband a gree card holder or a citizen?
4. When did he get his citizenship?
5. Have you been to the US before?
6. When was husband last here in India? and for how many days?
7. When you work here how has husband included your income in the tax filing there?
He then asked me to wait outside till called for the Interview.
So my 1st Interview was done by 8.05am but then had to wait till 12.45pm for name to be called for the 2nd interview.

Was an American lady. very polite and had a smile throughout.
Asked me whether i am comfortable with English. I said yes. She then said i need to take an Oath and then asked me to sign the for (Part II of DS 230). Then asked me the following questions:
1. When did you get married?
2. Was it a love or arranged marriage?
3. How did you meet your husband?
4. Have you travelled with your husband to the US?
5. Did you always want to marry a US citizen?
6. How is husband including your income in tax filings there? --> i said we have filed taxes post consulting a tax consultant and pas a part of this process i have also got an ITIN number.
She then smiled and said 'Your Visa has been issued and will be sent to you thru courier'. I then asked her whether i could collect it today evening from the VFS. she said there was a backlog and no chances of getting it the same day and suggested to wait till i get it through Courier.
But i didnt want to wait another 2-3 days to get it. So reached the VFS at 3.45pm. they handover passports to IV applicants on the same day betn 4.30 to 5pm. At 4.45 they took us in and got the packet in hand. was advised by teh VFS oifficer not to open the sealed yellow packet and that shud be submitted at the POE. Came out checked my Passport and was so happy to see the Visa stamped on it smile.gif

Overall it was a nice experience except for the long wait. Consider myself lucky that the 2nd interview was completed within 5 mins and was not asked for any evidences like documents / photographs.

Thanx to all in Visa Journey for the valuable inputs provided.

My husband was approved (he's from England) by USCIS back on Aug 11 and has been in the NVC for a while now, but his 4 children that are coming were still back at USCIS. Today I got 4 emails from them requesting more evidence for the children. I called the office to see what they needed and they said they didn't have that information and I should wait for the letters to come in the mail. My husband and I are wondering what in the world would they require for children? Should we be nervous they will deny the children?? Has anyone else gone thru this?? Thanks everyone!!

QUOTE (ashlesha @ Sep 25 2009, 06:36 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Hi, It looks like USCIS must have misplaced our pictures so they've sent a RFE requesting for the pictures. I was reviewing a copy of 129 F application set that I had submitted to USCIS and I noticed there may be other issues.
1. City name and occupation didn't fit in the G325 allocated spaces so there is a + sign.
2. Out of 4 copies of G325, my wife forgot to put her name in native language in one of them.

Not sure why I didn;t get RFE for those two reason and got one only for missing pictures. Do they generate RFE as they find issues with the application or do they go thru entire app at once and generate all possible RFE's at one shot. I would hate to go back and forth with RFE's

Do you think I should go ahead and attach another set of G-325 (with above issues fixed) so I don;t get another RFE..

Thanks for helping!

Do not send anything that they did not RFE because that may generate more blush.gif don't worry most of the times they can use resources to verify your info good.gif

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresI-130 Question plz
QUOTE (christeen @ Sep 25 2009, 10:07 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
First Off... Tygrys... I understand and agree that today, there is a blatent disregard for the proper usage of the English language, however, the issues you pointed out seem very petty. I am sure that for most, the words plz and coz are quite recognizable in text speak. If your only contributions to this poster and forum is as an English professor, then perhaps you have missed the purpose of the forum, to help and assist others in this visa journey.

To OP, I am confused as to what exactly you are asking; As far as #20 of the I-130, it is not the signature they are requesting, it is to write the name and address in the language/alaphabet of the benificerary.

As far as the I-129/I130, what did you file already??? Many have filed both in concurrance, however, the IR/CR has been processing in about the same time and it will give your relative a GC upon entry versus the K-3 which you will have to file for Adjustment of status...

christeen i just want to say you handled that very well i do not like when people take petty things and point them out instead of just focusing on the issue at hand

QUOTE (istanbulgirl @ Oct 6 2009, 02:36 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Sad news y'all. I went for my IR1 visa interview today in Ankara and was denied the visa because of the "overstay". I'm eligible for the waiver though.

The IO was very very nice -- I was asked only one question about my husband "Where did you guys meet?"
Then she looked through my file and saw that we were married in NY in 1999. Then she asked me when and how I entered the US. Then she said, "Sorry honey, because of the overstay, I can't issue you the visa this time, but here's what you do. I'll give you a waiver, have your attorney go over it with you and bring it back to the Embassy as soon as possible. There shouldn't be a problem, so come back when you have everything ready."

Even though I wasn't given the visa, I felt good because the IO seems to understand how hard it was to be apart from someone you love.

People have mentioned that the interviewing officers at the Embassy in Ankara are mean --- but I have to say differently. Almost eveyone who applied for their visa got through. People were happy in tears and everyone that had their interview within the 2 hour span I was there got their visas. Everyone was just happy going over to the UPS desk to pay for their visa. Hopefully in a few months I'll have the same happy feeling.

I am sorry to hear that rose.gif but definately do that waiver ASAP! good.gif

Dear Mrs Hamilton...i'm sorry to hear about this. Believe me ....very sorry.

Sorry more to report our denial as well. Several problems.....on the denial letter, they checked the box for 212(a)(1)..health related grounds, nothing more. (!????????????????????????) on another form, a BLUE SLIP.... they ask him to return with police certificate box checked and at the bottom handwritten: I-601, 2 G325a forms, hardship letter "suggested joint sponsor earning 70K+". that request makes me think they thought he was applying for his 2 17year old sons, which he is not doing....they'll be 18 before this is ever completed. SO...we wonder about the medical report, very worried....as he had to have a blood transfusion during the past year....also, the people at the Hope clinic are not cool..don't trust them, don't trust the report they sent, and since they won't provide copies to us...we are now retesting with a private doctor...God be merciful that they have made some grievous errors!! Still waiting on the expunged police record...for what it's worth.

So, i'm with you girl...and thinking of my next trip ASAP , and maybe TO hell with this whole "coming to America' ####### and go live with the love of my life ...cause it's all too short to give it all up to the bureaucrats.

Hi

I am new to the forum site, my wife (US Citizen) submitted an i 130 on my behalf (British Citizen) to the US embassy based in London. We sent all the information required on the i 130 checklist but have received a letter which mentions the form has been found incomplete and/or requires additional evidence.

I have listed the items we are being asked to supply more information for along with my question(s) and would really appreciate if you can help us so that we can send the info they need.

1. Please provide a sworn affidavit that complies with 28 U.S.C. sec 1746. Explaining how and when you and your spouse met and the background leading up to your marriage on July 6 2009 (The affidavit must contain your full name and address, date and place of birth, the affiant may be required to testify before an immigration officer about the information contained in the affidavit.)

Does anyone know what this means in layman terms as we are both confused with we have to do or provide and what the format is?!

2. Please provide three (3) affidavits that comply with 28 U.S.C. sec 1746 sworn to or affirmed by third parties having personal knowledge of the bona fides of your relationship with the beneficairy. (Each affidavit must contain the full name and address, date and place of birth of the person making the affidavit, his or her relationship, if any, to the petitioner, beneficiary and complete information and details explaining how the person acquired his or her knowledge. The affiant may be required to testify before an immigration officer about the information contained in the affidavit).

Again, what does this mean in layman terms and what is the format?!

This is all completely new to us so we are pulling our hair out trying to figure out what to do here!? Also, is there anything else that would useful to send as part of the request above?

Thanks!

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & ProceduresWhat is the normal reaosn why some cases are not touched for a period of 5 months?

Saddly depending on the country most cases are taking a lot longer due to extended processing and background checks that have to be done.

I agree good.gif

It has a lot to do with timing. Maybe you filed during an off-week and it got approved quickly. Or maybe your file fell to the floor and got kicked under the desk and is recovered after four months when somebody comes in to sweep. Mostly has to do with luck. Or maybe they are sleeping on the job. Hard to tell.

Just curious. I saw some posts from members here stating no one has touched or updated their cases 4-5 months after they receive their NOA1's. No RFE's nothing.

That must be really stressful. Id rather have RFE's than nothing. At least you know your case is making progress.

well i will pass on the RFE whistling.gif .. but for me no touches since 09/02/09 and no RFE but i'm still praying and hanging in there i will give them 90 days and then its "show time" yes.gif
