We had our NOA1 on November 16th and have just found out from a Tier 2 we got the approval last friday after my wife faxed her doctors letters on December 10th!! I can't believe how quick that was! In regards to expediting your petition, you can only do this in extreme circumstances where it would jeopardize the U.S. citizen should you not be be present with them. Have you tried the NVC in Washington, mate? Might be worth giving them a bell. I know they were a help to us, and its their hq too. I cant for the life of me find the number for them yet. I know Loto gave it to me. In all honesty, I haven't really chased it up with NVC in new hampshire either. Figured I'd give them a week before I start getting onto them. I'll look into getting the number for washington too though. If I havn't heard anything by the end of tomorrow, I'll give them a call, I probably should call them this evening I guess.. We were under adminstrative processing from his day of approval, Sept. 16, 2010 - Dec. 7, 2010. I just called the DoS and they told me his visa is waiting for pick up. It would have been nice to have know yesterday because it was my husband's birthday. Yes! He will be home for christmas!!!!!!!! I want to thank everyone for thier advice and words of encouragment. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	Happy at Last	I left Florida on Saturday for Jamaica. Arrived at 11:30am and we began packing. Left Sunday morning heading to Miami then home to Tampa. Everything was fine going through immigration and customs in Miami. Settling in at home....priceless. The heartache we endured is over. Thank God! To all those that are still waiting on their love ones and family members to arrive home, hang in there. We learned that the embassy is a collection hub for interviewing and paperwork collection. The immigration officer explained that it is his department, department of immigration that approves all visas and perform all the background checks. Although one may be approved at any embassy in the world, upon arrival at the POE, it your story doesn't add up during the interview, Immigration has a right to deny you entry into the US and send you packing back to your homeland. The immigration officer was nice and helped us correct alot of things that was entered into the system incorrectly, such as, address typos, visa status, advice on SSN, and how to temporary use you alien number. I was told that since my husband was not in the USA in the year 2009, even though we are married, he does not have a SS# or a tax id. His income is still in Egypt at the time. So I still filed as single or, head of household. Our interview is the 22 of this month, and I plan to be there with him. I had to get a certified copy of my divorce papers when we got married here in Cairo. What I ended up doing was getting a copy from the state that I was divorced in, then submit it into the state for certification, then I got it certified on the government level. I was under the impression because I entered on CR-1 visa, my Social Security card will state authrised to work in the USA The I-9 form is a form that the EMPLOYER supplies to his employees that basically says that the person they have hired is eligible to work. Just follow the information that is on the I-864 and make sure you have all the paperwork that he needs to give to your wife when she does the AOS papers. She will still need to turn in her information and W2's from previous years. Make sure your wife includes the copy of the passport page of your uncle and a copy of his birth certificate too. I actually filled out the email (ds-3032) myself on my husband's email address and sent it out to him AND CC it to myself so that way they would have both address attached to the email. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	Error in marriage certificate	Hello~ Don't worry about the address info on the marriage certificate. They did the same thing to me and my husband too. I think it is the way they actually translate it. It stated that we lived at a certain address for so long. We didn't have any problems with the marriage certificate. Don't send the original copy with your I-130. Just make a copy of all the pages of the certificate AND the english translation. Then give the NVC a call and see if they have gotten your case yet and find out what your case number is. Also you can give them both the petitioner and beneficiary's email and they will communicate with you via email. MUCH quicker than waiting for snail mail. Good luck!! Well I leave may 5th so i dont know if i will attend or not, we are hoping it will be before i leave so that i can attend to clear any questions about me that they have. She called on Wednesday to say that he will have a second interview but when he asked when it will be she just said she will call next week and to bring his cv with him,, he told her she already has it 2 times but she said bring it... thats all we know, no emails or anything so far Hoping your process will speed up for you and you will soon have your answer I would definitely send them an email and tell them that you are there in Egypt with your husband now and ask them if it is possible for them to schedule the interview so you can attend with him. Did you husband get the name of the person who called him? Definitely include that in the email. Or perhaps give them a call and you talk with them on the phone! Push the issue to get the interview so you can attend too! I was there for my husband's interview and they mostly questioned me during the whole time! Good Luck!! IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	STUPID RFE THREAD	OK I WAS GOING THRU EVERYTHING AND FOUND A FEW THINGS I MAY GET AN RFE FOR IF YOU HAVE ANY ADVICE FOR ME NOW IT WOULD BE GREAT!!! NVC RECIEVED EVERYTHING YESTERDAY BUT IT'S STILL IN THE MAIL ROOM. THE MISTAKES I FOUND: I WROTE LETTERS OF EXPLANATION FOR EVERYTHING I THOUGHT THEY MAY HAVE ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT. I ALSO ATTACHED A SHEET WITH SCHOOL INFORMATION ON IT AND SENT A LETTER OF REQUEST FOR RETURN OF THE ORIGINAL DOCUMENTS. ALL THREE OF THESE I SIGNED BUT DID NOT DATE THIS IS ALL FOR THE DS-230 PLUS THE FIRST PAGE OF THE DS-230 I PUT THE ADDRESSES BUT DIDNT PUT THE APT NUMBER FOR ALL THREE OF THE ADDRESSES ALSO I READ ABOUT THE EGYPT MILITARY CERTIFICATE RFE THE PROBLEM WITH THE CERTIFICATE SAYING "MINISTRY OF DEFENCE" AND NOT "MINISTRY OF WAR" I MAY HAVE THIS ISSUE ALSO. You should be ok with your ds-230 with the letters of explanations. It might even stop having an RFE, who knows? As far as the address not having the apartment number, you might want to call them and let them know that you didn't have the apartment number on there, because this is the address they are going to be sending your SO green card AND social security number to. If you live in a big apartment community, well you may never receive his documents from the government. My husband's military certificate had ministry of defense on there and we didn't have an RFE for that, we did have one but it was because of his birth certificate.... IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	HOW TO ACCESS THE NVC AVR INSTEAD OF OPERATOR?	nvc just received our ds-230 packet 2 days ago. today i tried calling the nvc to check my case status, but i keep getting a recording that says it does not recognize my CIS case number. i doubled and tripled check my number and i did enter the right combination. does anyone know what the problem is? It sounds like they haven't inputted your information into the system yet. Give them at least a week after being sent to the NVC for them to put it into their data banks. Do you have to press any additional numbers (like, press 3) to be connected to the AVR? Thanks! If you dial the NVC (603)334-0700, usually you will get a busy signal, but keep on dialing it. Once you get through you will be connected to the AVR. Just put in your case number and it will automatically give you the AVR status. Then you can select if you want to talk to an OP. As far as the age difference, there is a big age gap between myself and my husband, but I was there for his interview in Egypt, and nothing was said to him or to me about our ages. I think it helped me being there, it gives them the chance to see how we really interact with each other. Either that or maybe my husband looks old and I look young? That is how I like to think! IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	Yay SIF..	Yay we finally got a SIF.. I was just wondering when do we get a CASE COMPLETE? Do i call the NVC or does the AVR change to case complete? When do i know my stuff is on the way to the consulate in Frankfurt? Where can i find the medical requirements and everything again? I have found the list for the docs but i was going to get blood test and make sure my vaccinations are up to date at my Dr. here as i can get it all done for free before i go pay for my medical and find out my vaccinations arent up to date or something. Congratulations on the SIF!! You should beable to call the NVC and see if they have a case complete for you yet. Check on the us embassy in Frankfurt website and see if they have a list of doctors for the medical. I know in Cairo that is what they have and you can't go for your medical until you have the email with the interview date on there. Once you get the email with the interview date on there you can go on the dhl website and track your pakage going to Frankfurt for your interview. IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures	Print OF-169 and OF-230	it says in the guide (the NVC will send your relative a packet of forms that you and your relative must fill out before your relative can be given an interview date with a consulate abroad.) Is it possible to have that packet sent to me here in the US instead? The guide for the embassy in Cairo is misleading because that is for K1 visa. When you are going for a CR1 visa, you will be getting everything through the NVC and yes, it will come to you in the US. Once you do the I-130 packet and send all the evidence in to the USCIS, you will get a NOA (notice #1) that they received the paperwork, then in a couple of months *InsA* you will get a NOA(notice of approval #2) that they approved your I-130 package and it will be sent to the NVC(national visa center) When the NVC inputs your paperwork into the system, you will be assigned a case number, then you will call the NVC and give them both yours and your SO email address so that way you will be notified via email instead of snail mail (MUCH FASTER!) Then from there, you and/or SO will send in a email stating who you want to be assigned as Agent for the case (usually it is sent in via email from your beneficiary's email stating they want the US petitioner as agent) Then the US petitioner will get an email saying that they can pay.... I'm not sure what the of-169 is...I believe it is the instructions to the ds-230 form. Just so you know, OF is for Optional Form.... if you are planning on doing the CR1 visa for your wife, then you will be doing a DS-230 fomr which is what she will need to sign. I am very new to this site and also new to this CR1 visa trip,so bare with my "not so new questions" Me & my husband got stuck on a few things when we were trying to assembly the I130 package for the uscis first one is the section in the G325a form,on the very bottom that says:"this form is submittet in connection with an aplication for..." ?? do we have to put permanent resident or other /I-130 form?And how many forms each do we need? thanks a lot,I appreciate your help!
