K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresPLEASE help! its Urgent!
Hi Julie

You have to have original signature from both the USC and the beneficiary on the Biographic forms, and as for the passport photos, I just wrote our names on the back of them and put the dates on there as well in felt tip pen ink. I did that on the rest of the pictures I sent too. I was approved fine.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresDo "clean" cases=

I wonder if a "clean" case gets approved faster than those with "issues?"

Case in point...I am divorced and applied for a previous K1...later withdrawn.

Thoughts?

Gupt, it is possible that your case is in security checks, mine was in security checks for 6 months before I received my NOA2, I would call CSC and ask them if this is the case.....

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAdministrative Processing at NVC !!!!

God, if that were to happen to us I think I'd scrap the whole thing. I couldn't take it.

\

You are kidding ,Right? When you start this kind of process you have to be ready for the long haul......I know it's hard, but being without your loved one would be even harder, wouldn't it?

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresAdministrative Processing at NVC !!!!

They are definitely trying my patience. Just got off the phone with NVC and they told me that I'm under administrative processing. And that there is no time frame for this. These motherf****** are really killing me. Sorry about the language but I just can't take this ###### anymore.

Hi there travlnmann

I am in AP at NVC too, I have been waiting close to 4 weeks now for them to send my case to the Consulate in Korea, so you are not alone.......

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresSecurity Check?

I was able to get some info on my case today and was told i have been in Security Checks for sometime now.
I know it is standard for security checks but the comment im concerned with is "For sometime Now"
So that means a name hit??
Any advice or comments to what this really means in "TimeFrames' of how long you can be held up?
Thanks~Kelle

Hi Kelle

This exact same thing happened to me as well, I was in security checks for about six months, it took them 189 days to approve my visa. I just kept emailing them and contacting USCIS letting know that I am still here and I was not going to let them forget it. And of course they kept telling me the same thing "security checks" I contacted my Congresswoman, and they gave her the same answer as well, so really all you can do is wait it out. I don't think it ususally takes more than 6 months or so. I think there are a few on here that have been held up for up to 9 months or more, but if I were you I would just pray for the best and hope for the best, keep bugging them, and try to have patience. I know it is very hard though, you are in my thoughs and prayers for a speedy approval. All the best of luck to you!!!!

~Stacey

Glad you guys made it through. Sigh.. CSC doesn't even allow e-mails from the "general public" anymore... so it's probably best just to call every couple weeks to once a month.

Yeah Icey i heard that they would not allow any emails anymore, that really stinks, I don't know what I would have done if I could not have emailed during that long wait. But, I guess she can just call and call and call. When I said our visa was approved , I meant the petition, now we are NVC, and they are holding our petition there now too, so I don't know how long it will be held there, it has already been there a month, so we will see....Good luck to everyone, wishing everyone the best of luck

My case was rec'd at Embassy 7/14 and I did receive a letter telling me this shortly after my NOA2 which was 7/10/06, it just left NVC on 8/14 , so it took them 4 weeks to send it to the Embassy, but it is finally on its way now

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresImmigration lawyer vs. Doing it yourself
I would say if you have a straight forward case as we did, I would not bother with an attorney, they can sometimes make things worse. We have now done it twice, without an attorney and everything went fine both times.

I have heard some horror stories about mistakes made by lawyers and how those mistakes messed things up for people. If you have something other than a straight forward case though it is a good idea to get the advise of an attorney. Just my opinion here......

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresDo I need a police Certificate...
yeah, each consulate is different, our consulate told us to go by the reciprocity table, that is why i posted it, we were not even going to try and get a police report from pakistan because it is supposedly unobtainable, then we looked at the reciprocity table and it says it is obtainable, so thank god they sent us that table, it is going to cost us some money to get it, but at least we won't be sitting in the interview without it. i dont even know how the consulates expect you to get some of these documents from some of these countries, if my fiance didn't have an uncle who still lived in pakistan then we would have been screwed, because you have to have connections in some of these countries to get anything.

My fiance is from Pakistan and Pakistan is on the list that says you don't have to get the police certificate, but he still has to, so I would not go by that, this is what you need to go by http://www.travel.st...ocity/index.htm hope it helps you

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresI'm in shock...and loving it

Here it is...4 months and 22 days later...and we have been approved. I sat staring at my computer screen for a good twenty minutes...not believing what I was reading. I was scared to get my hopes up, for fear that another axe would fall, telling me that it wasn't REALLY an approval...just some sick joke on the part of some sadistic government employees.

But, it's real. (yeah, i still had to call and verify it...can't be to sure)

Now, I have spent nearly five months in the agonizing limbo, in which most of us have all been lingering. For someone who knows the initial process by heart...who has the CSC phone numbers memorized...I have no idea what is going on as of now. How long is it before Sydney gets everything?

And I read, at some point, there are forms that my fiance does NOT need to sign until in front of someone at the consulate.

While I realize I have to jump back into the system and learn more...I'm thrilled to do it (well, especially since I just graduated from college two weeks ago...I actually have the time to learn everything again).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you all. I can't explain how much it's meant to me to know that I wasn't alone in thinking I'd lost my mind during these past five months. :-)

Over and out,
Jourdan

Congrats to you

Now your case should be forwarded to NVC, I would start calling in a couple of days and see if they have rec'd it, the phone # is on the NVC Forum. Don't try using the automated system as that does not work for K1, you have to speak directly to a operator, you should also get a letter from them when they have rec'd it with the new Case # on it. Once NVC is done processing it, which can take from 2 days - 4 weeks, it will be forwarded to the Consulate you are dealing with, once they start processing your case they will then send packet three to the Beneficiary, which consists of the instructions regarding medical, police reports and the forms you were talking about in your post. I would check and see if your Consulate has a website, sometimes they do. Once the fiance has completed everything in packet three and sent it back and the Consulate knows she is done with everything, then packet 4 is sent and it is time to schedule the interview. Each Consulate is different though so I would try to check into how your Consulate does things, by emailing them or calling them once you get to this point. Hope this helps you some.

HI ALL,
i had my interview last August 9, 2006. Even though the consul told me "congratulations" i still ask her if iam approved, she said "yes" i saw when she put a pink stripped APPROVED K paper on my folder and i saw it again at releasing section---- i never got any peice of paper asking me to submit more documents or wait until u hear from us.... i paid the delbros for visa delivery----- but until now i dont have my visa yet. Im worried coz my batchmate interview (friends) had their visa already, embassy release their visa 2-5 days only after our interview date----------but WHERE IS MY VISA????????????????
