And Saylin... I guess the wiki will have to be reworked for the new process of paying the fees together and sending the packages together.

You are an ANGEL of IMMIGRATION! Have a blast in Orlando!

Yes, last night I went onto the NVC website and saw the new bits about sending just one package. I'm going to wait and see how the changes come before spending a lot of time updating the wiki. Not to mention I've got last-minute planning to do and then my vacation starts this Saturday :P So, I'll update the wiki once I get back, after the 21st.

As to those wondering if your case will be delayed cause you sent (or will send) in 2 packages, don't worry. It'll probably take a couple of weeks before NVC switches over to this new system of processing, so you're fine. Take a deep breath in and let it out.

Saylin, I just submitted my details for the new spreadsheet. I don't know my IV scan date yet even though it arrived at NVC on Aug 14th, but I will endeavour to call them this week and find out when the package was scanned in. I should find out anyway just so I know they definitely have it :P

Sounds good   Thanks for the heads up, otherwise I would have checklisted you for that :P  :jest:

I am probably just dense but I'm trying to figure out how to find average dates between DS-261 submission and IV bill coming up for payment. Those two things are linked, correct? I'm impatient to pay my IV bill so I can start the form and send my personal documents. I know it hasn't been a long time for me but I'm getting increasingly scared that my husband will have to leave Australia without me in February

According to my spreadsheet, it's an average of 33 calendar days between submitting the DS-261 and the IV bill available to pay.

Just got off the the phone with NVC talked to Don OMG what a sweet heart he is.   Told me I have two more weeks to go and my scan date for my IV is July 24 Th.

129fs238648.gif  Not sure if I gave you that date yet precious. :D  So waiting on DS-260 and IV.

So far this isn't going to be such a bad weekend after all.

Sorry to hear that you got a checklist.    That's strange since they only checked your AOS package, but they're saying you'll need to send the beneficiary's birth certificate?   :huh2:   However, you probably don't need to worry about it if you have sent the beneficiary's birth certificate as part of your IV package.   :star:

I'd send your employment letters of your US and Canadian jobs (both) if I were you.

Another 60 calender days for a checklist document?     Most likely "Yes".    :dead:   But...  We've seen people with checklist documents getting approved in 1-4 weeks so you never know. Fingers crossed!     -_-

Saylin, do you think we should add this "waiting for another 60 calender days for a checklist document" answer on your Wiki?   :huh2:   This is one of the most often asked questions on here.

Added a few clarifying sentences in Step 8 on the wiki

Visa was approved today! Easy! Just checked the website and it is now to "ISSUED" :D

Thanks to everyone here- all the awesome people we've met, really appreciate the support, love, and compassion we all have for each other. Big Thanks to awesome Saylin, for keeping my wife sane :D, BDrew, BOS, KlgD, Stackeria, Lovemytico, JEFFINMX,  Mobar, and many others!

You all have brilliant. Will be writing a review soon. I will say that the checklist for NVC are beyond frustrating and uncall for as they didn't seem to be bothered to have no W2 nor want the P60!

Good luck to everyone still waiting for this lengthy process, it's hard but it will be worth it all in the end :).

Will be around (not posting much though) to see everyone's good news! Good luck!!

Ahhh, it's already switched to issued?! :joy: It was in AP as of this morning when I was talking with your wife (whom I've had a great time trying to keep sane, lol). She's awesome by the way :D Hopefully I can see you guys soon in Orlando while I'm there ;)

hi guys just an update... case complete on aug. 26.

received interview instructions email on sept.2

and will be having interview on oct. 2 in manila U.S. embassy.

does anybody what is next? do i just wait for the interview date?

or is there a way i can get my medical prior interview date so the the process will be faster?

i would appreciate everyone's help. thanks and good luck everyone!

Uh, the medical kinda needs to be done BEFORE the interview, unless you want to be put into pointless AP. And since you're from the Philippines, you were eligible to do an advance medical months ago when you got the letter from NVC stating your case numbers.

Besides the medical, prepare all the documents for the interview and, if needed in that country, sign up for courier information.

I suggest you read your interview letter as well as my wiki, as you should know what to do already...

Can the petitioner use I864ez(meeting requirements) even when using a joint sponsor?

Depends who you ask. For me, the second criteria makes it sound like only YOU can be the sponsor, with no joint sponsors. For others, they interpret it as they're only using their own earned/retirement income (instead of other kind of income).

NVC should use automated voice system to let everyone know if there are any updates regarding their case and make the CSRs review packages instead.... What a waste of resources....

They actually used to. It was there when I went through in February 2011. You had the option of speaking with an operator or inputting your receipt number/case number and listen to one of a handful of statuses that your case was at. Although it's probably better than nothing, it could have been a lot better. The statuses were delayed by a few days (always faster to speak with an operator) and there was only like 5 different messages. But regardless, it was shut down I believe in 2012, or possibly late 2011.

I get that it varies by country, but I'm wandering is 60 days delay affecting that time as well (i.e. if for specific country used to take 30 days for interview, did it change to 60 days due to the extra delay they added)?

The 30/60 days is for reviewing packages, it has nothing to do with scheduling interviews. Again, the time frames for interviews are based on the location of your interview and how busy they are, as well as when you get a case complete. If you want a good estimate on current time frames for YOUR country's location, please read the first post.

Trying to understand this 60 days thing.. When case gets completed I read that people wait up to a week to get e-mail confirmation about cc. How long it takes for the interview to be scheduled after cc? 60 days as well?

It varies by country. Please read the first post ;)

I paid IV fee on August 30th Saturday, in the payment portal it still says 'In Process'. Should I be worried why it hasn't been 'Paid' yet? I do have sufficient balance in my account. However, I used Google chrome browser to pay the fee, maybe that's what causing delay?

Keep in mind, it's only been one business day since you paid. Nothing gets done on weekends and holidays.

I called 2 weeks ago but the said to wait 4-5 weeks I'm not complaining just interested as to why it was emailed ?

If they have an email address on file, they email you the information.

If you read my wiki, I have a section to determine when your case number was assigned, just by looking at the case number itself. I'm betting that yours was assigned a week or so ago, as those emails are typically delayed.

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNVC Filers - September 2014

Hi Saylin, Just a quick question. FIlling out i864 currently and in 2013 I had income from both my current employer (which is main source of income) and some income from freelance work as self employed for which I filed schedule C form. In part 6 where it asks for Sponser's income and employment I checked 1st box to indicate Which company I am employed at. Do I also have to check mark 2nd box where it says "Self Employed as an.."? It only lets me choose either one. I am sending my tax transcripts of last 3 years, do I still need to send my Schedule C form with it?

If you can't choose both while filling it out on a computer, then hand-write it in once you print it.

And yes, I believe for those self-employed, that schedule needs to be sent along with tax transcripts.

SaylinFemaleCanada2014-09-02 15:09:00

They always say that. They are also working 28 hours a day, skipping smoke breaks and sending all the files to a secret underground facility where genetically engineered squirrels can turn out 4000 files a day.  And, if William Wallace were here he would destroy the English with lightning bolts from his #######!!!

Haha, let's hope it's true.  There do seem to be a lot of fresh operators lately.

Keep in mind though, operators have nothing to do with the actual review of the files. Operators merely take calls.

Ok cool!  Thank you so much! I worded it a little funny, but basically meant the same thing :content:  My spouse's current monthly income is currently basically the same it has been for the last 8 months. So we were just basically gonna take the number from the most recent pay check stating what has already been made this year, calculate what has been made on average per month (the hours are the same, but commission varies), and then add that for the last four months of the current year. But then lowballing the final figure slightly.

Sounds good to me  Just round to a nice hundred amount (ex. 25632, use 25600). Definitely doesn't have to be exact for current income

I've never seen a checklist for the current income question. But then again, I had never seen a checklist for blue ink before and we all saw what happened yesterday

I asked for every single tax transcript available to be e-mailed to me. Found the type of form used in 5 seconds... AAAAAAAAHHH   :bonk:

Thank you! Now moved on to arguing about which number to enter for current income   If I understood correctly it can just be an estimate of what will be earned by the end of the year? Also, online printouts for the tax transcripts should be fine, right? I had completely trusted my spouse with all this, so I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to the AOS stuff. Now I'm freaking out, because, well, see above

THANK YOU! I don't know what I'd do if I didn't have all you wonderful people helping out.

For current income, it kinda has to be an estimate as there's no tax forms yet. And it's not how much will be earned by the end of the year, it's how much is being made CURRENTLY, as of RIGHT NOW.

To calculate it, if you're salary, put the current amount. Otherwise, calculate how much you're currently making a year by doing: current hourly wage x hours worked per week x weeks worked in a year (typically 52). Then put that amount.

Thanks. That's what I said! But my spouse SWEARS there is no such thing, and I don't have the paperwork in front of me. Oy... Ok now it's there. Aaaand now it's not there.   I got mad and said I wanted nothing to do with this  :protest:  Apparently NOWHERE does it say which form was used, which I find hard to believe. And now my spouse says "I'm just gonna guess and you're just gonna have to learn to live with it."

Well, on all our tax transcripts we've gotten, it says at the top which tax form was filed. She has the tax return transcripts, correct? Ask her to take a picture of the top and send it to you. Maybe you'll be able to find it ;)

Ok figured out the answer to my previous question. Now I'm wondering where we could find out which form (1040/1040A/1040EZ) was filed, because of course my spouse has no recollection of even filing taxes ever... :ranting:  Anyone know? I'm freaking out. My spouse totally messed up the last I-864 and is about to do it again...

It says near the top of each tax transcript what tax form was filed ;)

IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNVC Filers - September 2014

yes I did. they were firm on the phone. they told me it is a legal contract and has to be signed in black ink. they told me that was the ONLY thing wrong with my I864. And then they told me when I send it, i have to wait 60 days before I can call back and ask. They will get a hold of me! She even had her supervisor confirm it ..that it was the reason I had a checklist as my checklist was blank. 2 days after my call,, I received the checklist saying I had to sign in black ink.. and that was the ONLY thing on it!  <_<

 I think you may be the first person I've seen that has gotten a checklist solely cause you signed in blue ink...

That's just ridiculous...  :bonk:

Your mistake #2...is my costly 60 day wait. I was told by NVC I have to wait 60 days for them to verify the papers I resubmitted in black ink..is indeed black ink.. to get my case complete.  :bonk:

You got a checklist for signing in blue ink?

SaylinFemaleCanada2014-09-01 20:01:00
IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNVC Filers - September 2014

Even though the form says "type or print in black ink"? Writing over it seems .. dodgy.. I'd rather be wrong than appear deceptive..

It also says to use all capital letters, but not a lot of people do that either ;)

We signed in blue ink for everything and had no issues. Personally, to me, a signature in blue ink looks more real than in black as black may appear to be a photocopy (and I've seen checklists for suspicions on that).

SaylinFemaleCanada2014-09-01 19:53:00
IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsNVC Filers - September 2014

Is there any way at all we can send it anyway or print out a new one that they have sent by email? I know it's meant to be original but I can't go through taht again.. or can we fill it in as the preparer and attach the previous one to show that we are just sending a new one signed in black ink but scanned? This is all hopeless isn't it and I just have to ask them to sign it in black ink and send again, don't I? Literally in tears I am so frustrated why are there so many ways to eff this up?

Blue ink is completely fine. I suggest it over using black, personally ;)
