Canada	K-1 May interviews Montreal !!!!	You must have seen where I said this: "I'm sure if Kevin had been with me he'd have talked the guy into approving the visa on the spot. NO ONE wins an argument with my man! Once we get married I'm getting him the dang waiver and never going anywhere without him again.. lol." Sigh.. I miss him so much. Yes! lol I have actually quoted you to him! Canada	K-1 May interviews Montreal !!!!	I was quite shocked to see it had been accepted at mtl post office Friday morning. I didnt expect it but it was a nice surprise, now that Monday is a holiday though.. i may have to wait until Tuesday/Wednesday... which is okay because i am not heading straight home. I'm still in Ottawa with Jay ( last few hours together for a couple weeks) and some friends then i am off for a few days with another friend before i return home. It wont be long, it's hard to believe that this huge road block is over!! (: I bet, but like everyone seems to say it's really painless. Is Matt going to be there, too? I think they asked Jay more questions than they asked me. Which is fine because i was just holding my sh!t together. Then when she said she was happy to approve us it was a huge release of tension. that's awesome. What a great way to distract yourself while you are waiting for your visa too. Yeah... I hope it is painless for me too. Matt wasnt sure he was going to be there for the interview, but Im not giving him a choice! He is great in that sort of situations whereas I get super nervous and frazzled. I hope they ask him all the questions! Hearing about kevbev's story makes me nervous too... you just never know. I would make sure you have $350 just in case. I put the link in the June thread. Yes, of course we will. But I dont think it would be right. Not everybody is on VJ or stalking the DOS website. Canada	K-1 May interviews Montreal !!!!	Sorry, I haven't been on here much, kind of depressed to be the only one not approved. I did call DoS last Wed (after a week) and they just said, everything is in order but they're still processing it. I check my xpress tracking number several times a day. I have been at my parents' house since we left Montreal, I addressed the envelope here expecting to get it quickly but now I feel like I've outstayed my welcome. Don't wanna go home.. my living situation was pretty bad and I already said goodbye to everyone. Kevin keeps telling me, just hang in there, it will come soon. Sucks that tomorrow's a holiday and an extra day of not knowing. Should I even bother trying to email the consulate? Running outta options at the moment. Im sorry this is happening. You're good for sure, as it takes effect on june 4th. I have my interview on june 14th, so Im not sure what will happen. grrrr. Im thinking I might be ok, since it says 131$ on my interview letter. It wouldnt be fair to say I owe 350$ when I show up if they have told me it was 131$ already. The wording is funny, t could mean when we apply, at the interview, or when we apply, thruoght the ds-160 form. Canada	K-1 May interviews Montreal !!!!	We were approved!! It was very much the easiest part of the whole process so far, stressful leading up to it though. I'll let Jay do the review because he's much better with details than myself. Jennie was first in line but just going in for her interview as were leaving. I am waiting to hear good news from her! It's such an amazing feeling. I feel like i should be out celebrating but instead i am waiting for him to wake from a nap. Congratulations! I was thinking about you guys yesterday! Ok, but I called today like 1:30 PM and they have my packet 3 into the computer just not assigned it an interview date yet....how long did you have to wait after they had yours in the computer to get a interview date attached? The last time interview dates were given was on March 17th, before that, it was January 20-ish... So everybody who had their Packet 3 logged in during that period (Jan-March) got their interview dates about 3 weeks ago. I cant call from work unfortunately, and the building is super weird here where cell reception is weak to non-existant. Oh I know, it was just torture going through the whole weekend knowing I missed being able to call by a few minutes My p3 stuff was in a month before you even so I have fingers crossed, heck I barely slept last night even. So, have you called yet? This was along weekend for me too! lol ... I will find out if I made the cut or not. My P3 was logged on Thursday. I am dying. I will cry if I missed it by a day. I was looking back and saw Amanda2020 was logged on jan 25th and got her interview date on Jan 26th... so Im still hopeful. But stressed as hell. They never once said "yes they received it" It was always "You were sent packet 3 on this day..." I would say i was calling to see if they had logged it.. So it would make me think that when it shows up in the DOS system it must be logged... but i have been wrong a few times in my life. (: kizza, i hope they realize they dont have enough interviews for the month of May. Seeing as the last one among us is the 20th. I really hope it isnt like this last time for you. As happy as i am that most people got their interview and it's only a matter of a couple weeks that separate us... and i shouldnt be complaining but it still kinda irks me that i am pretty much last and the one of the first to send packet 3 back LOL I am now done grumbling. thanks Bevie. yeah, wouldnt it be nice if they added some interviews in May! It is a weird system they are using, isnt it? You would think they'd go by the dates the files were entered in the computer... nevermind piles of files. Sure a few weeks dont make much of a difference at this point, but still, it's just odd, and if you are trying to make plans and are just waiting to get your visa to move, that is really frustrating. yeah AandB, I think thats right... if they say they received your file, it means they logged it. And I am fairly sure I was one of the earlier ones logged in this batch of interviews. So I don't think it has anything to do with when you were logged....more on what pile you happen to be in!! That's what I mean... it seems like the people who got logged earlier in the group end up with the last interviews of the group. Oh well... out of our hands. I'll maybe make my fiancé call the DoS tomorrow to see if the P3 is at least log in the computer. I really hope we didn't miss it by just a couple days and that they'll be very nice and kind to give us a date very soon! Matt called on Tuesday. He wants to call again today, but Im not expecting any good news for a few weeks at the very least. Seems to me like in November, when they scheduled interviews, it had been 4 months since the last scheduling, in January, 3 months, in March, 2 months... so maybe they are trying to stay on top of it, and we'll be lucky and get interviews scheduled in April, for June. Fingers & toes crossed. Im hoping I wont get the very last inteview date in the next batch, since I will have pretty much the first pckt 3 logged after the last scheduling and they seem to be working backwards. Canada	K-1 people waiting for interviews at Montreal	I was talking to my friend yesterday.. And he had to get a police check by his fingerprints for his Australian Visa.. I don't think we need to do that right? If i've never been arrested or never commited any crime? He just got me confused, can somebody tell me i don't have to do that police check by fingerprints that takes 120days in average? I did the one that they search by name and date-of-birth yesterday... For your canadian police cert, if you are physically present in Canada and have never been charged with anything, you only need a name check. It took mine 7 days to get in the mail; some people can just walk into the police station and have it done on the spot. If you have lived in a different country for more than 6 months since the age of 16, you need a police certificate from that country as well. Then you need to check the requirements specific to that country. I had to get one from Australia, and have it done with fingerprints. I am up in Canada right now visiting my fiance' and to say the least I was almost jumping up and down at the end of the driveway when he got home from work at 4:10 p.m. today! Now to call our parents and tell them the news! well... no interview for me yet, but I have to tell you you got me literally shaking here! Canada	K-1 people waiting for interviews at Montreal	Its about 2 weeks right now, I dont have an interview date yet, (P3 has been with Montreal since Feb 2 *sadfase*) but I wanted to get it out of the way since its good for 6 months so I called and booked it. Also It just made me feel like things are still progressing if I get it done, even though Ive heard not a peep from Montreal in a while. Now I wonder how long it will take to get an interview date. I am so excited the forms are at least in someone's hands and maybe the next time I call they will tell me my fiance' is "eligible for an interview" and then the magic words "Your interview is scheduled for ...." That must be some mistake, especially considering that there is no Consulate in Toronto that handles these applications. But I agree, I only see Toronto and Vancouver as options for Canada... Odd. Thanks for checking. I was starting to wonder if I was just blind or using the wrong link or something. I wonder if they've put Toronto in there by mistake, but the form would actually be sent to Montreal. I'll call DOS later. I just called the DOS. The woman said at first, no they haven't received my fiance' packet 3. Oh, wait a minute, on March 1st Montreal received (and she rattled off a list of forms) but they "didn't qualify them". She then said that they were probably going to send something back to my fiance about it and I should call back later. Anyone else get this "didn't qualify them (being the forms sent back"? Does the "didn't qualify them" mean he isn't eligible for an interview yet or something else entirely? We sent back everything they asked for on the form. Well, I will try again another day. Canada	Is this revised plan workable? So many issues!	I think your husband will have a hard time showing that his principal residence is in the USA (to meet the terms of the affidavit of support). On the surface, renting a room and not having a job and never having had a previous residence or US employment would be questionable. Add that to the fact that he has always lived in Canada and the only property you guys have will be in Canada. Doesn't make me think he's living in the USA so I don't know why USCIS would buy it. IMO, you would have an easier time if he actually lived in the USA, got whatever work he could get, and use the value of your assets to make up the difference. The one part I might do would be to build the cabin on the land, but then I would look at selling everything and seeing if that would be enough cash.
