Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionAre there anyone who did not file right on the dot of 90 days.
I was a month or so late.

At the time I was convinced that I would be filing for and getting Citizenship before I heard anything, now they have screwed that as well.

Pictures for removal of conditions? If you want to fair enough, but why?

Your NOA1 for the I-751 is also a one year extension of your Green Card. If you plan to send the package off in September and will not be leaving until December you *should* receive the NOA before you left. Never know what may happen with processing times by then however...but don't leave the country with out the NOA and you will be just fine! good.gif

Or if you office does it get the I-551 stamp in her passport.

Seems reasonable to suppose OP was dealing.

You need an Immigration AND a Criminal Lawyer fast.

Felonies make you deportable.

Very bad news.

they didn't mention timbits :protest:

As awsome as timbits are, I don't think Canada can actually take credit for the idea of selling the leftover dough from the middle of the doughnut.

CanadaK-1 people waiting for interviews at Montreal
Hi,

I was taking a look at form ds-160 and Im off to a bad start.

Step 1) Select the location where you will be submitting your application:

Montreal doesnt appear in the scroll down menu.
Toronto & Vancouver are in there... but not Montreal.

Is this a new glitch? Anybody's had this problem?
Ive been searching the forum trying to see if this problem has been brought up before but I didnt find anything.

CanadaK-1 people waiting for interviews at Montreal

Hi Kizza, I think you are kind of confused in terms of Montreal "logging you into their system".
This is how things go about:
NVC will send your file to the MTL consulate, but the NVC will give you your Montreal case # (MTL-**********). Once Montreal receives your file, they will send you the P-3 (might take 2-3 weeks after Montreal receives your case). Once you send back the P-3 forms, this is when you need to call DOS (Department of State) and they will inform you whether Montreal has received your P-3 and logged you into their system
I hope this helps!!!
KnR aka slider100

Ahhhhh! Thanks for clearing that up! lol
So they won't tell me when they enter me in the database before they send me the packet 3?
Because even though NVC said they transferred my case 2 weeks ago, when I call DOS, they say Montreal hasnt received it. So this is normal?
Basically I thought I'd get "logged" twice, once when they got my file and first entered me in their database, and again when I'd returned Packet 3.

CanadaK-1 people waiting for interviews at Montreal
Hi there,

I guess I am sort of waiting for an interview... although still waiting for Montreal to log us is the system and send P3.

Looking at others' timelines, it seemed to take about 2 weeks to get Packet 3 from the time the case was sent to the consulate...
Does that sound about right? Ive been calling DoS and they say we're still not in Mtl's database.

CanadaOff Topic Part Cinq

Every now and then my dad will send me an envelope filled with clippings from the newspaper back home that he thinks I will enjoy - often a lot of comics, political commentary (from the Canadian viewpoint) and such. Every now and then he will put in something special - like a letter I wrote home when I was away working for the summer in Saskatchewan or a birthday card I made for my Mom when I was 5 years old Posted Image. Today I received another envelope stuffed with interesting cartoons and clippings - and a listing of auctions back home. That was fun but it made me realize how much I miss auctions - they don't have them here Posted Image. The thing that got me both laughing and crying at the same time is he also put in a Tim Horton's donut bag! Heheheheh - yep a donut bag (sorry Charles, it was empty!), but all the same it was such a fun surprise. Posted Image

That's awesome! I'd love for someone here to do this for me once Im away.

Wow. Why do all the interesting things happen on days I'm gone?

I just read through all 14 pages of this thread and added my US and my old Canadian homestead.

For the record I played around with the old map for a good 15 minutes before I realized you guys had made a new one. That other one was brutal! Good idea to switch.

Out of curiosity, who's placemark 52? Is that an accident? Because I didn't think anyone even lived out there tongue.gif

I think we all had too much coffee this morning and managed to fill up a good 12+ places in discussion over a single map, haha.

Is 52 the marker way up in the Arctic? I think that's where we banish the Canaliens who don't behave...

laughing.gif no its off I-70 in Kansas near the Colorado border. Its not even in a town. Its like no mans land off the highway. There might be some like cows that live out there, or people who feed the cows?

How the heck do you make your icon something cool? I can't figure it out...

I noticed that Placemark 52 too... It wasnt one of my retarded moves, I swear! ... or I think unsure.gif

I cant figure out how to change my icon into something different than a blue pin either. I thought maybe all the good ones were taken?

Question I was a student in o7 in the us before we got married Feb 14 2008 we filed our paper work and i b/c a permanent resident in july....I have been in the us the whole time since oct 2007....I had my taxes done last year and was considered no longer a resident on canada....so this year would I be considered a resident for the whole year or what do I need to do??

If you filed a leaving Canada return with the CRA International Services Office in 2007, you need to do nothing further with them in 2008 unless you received Canadian income that did not have the 25% non-resident tax taken out.

You would continue to file a US return with the IRS.

Can we take the EIC and Child Care Credit then ??? And am I considered a resident for the full year ???

Does this mean that my case was transferred to California? And is this quicker than Nebraska does anyone know?

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionTracking my case online
Hi,

So I received my NOA last week and on it is the case # that begins WAC. I tried to track my case on the USCIS.gov website but it says invalid receipt number. I made sure I did not put any hyphen's or spaces etc, but it would not accept it.

Is anyone else having problems like this or knows what is going on? wacko.gif

Thank you

Removing Conditions on Residency General DiscussionRFE...but nothing to send in! Help!
My wife and I received and RFE on our I-751. It asks for more proof of joint finances:

"...your documents do not show a sufficient co-mingling of assist to indicate a bona fide marriage. You have submitted sufficient evidence of this or other issues related to your joint assets/marriage since the original conditional resident status was issued on August 2005. Therefore, in order to establish your eligibility for removal of your conditional status, you will need to submit additional documents to support that you entered into a good faith marriage:

* Some of your bank statements showing joint savings accounts and/or checking accounts.
* Insurance policies such as life insurance, medical insurance, vehicle insurance, DMV records, etc
* Credit card statements, supporting a joint account
* Loan documents such as car loans, home improvement loans, business loans, etc"

Here's what we do have:
* Joint checking savings at my credit union opened 2 years ago, but we never used it. But we do have statements (showing no activity).
* Joint ING online savings account opened in June, but we only put money in it ($500) last month. So we have that statement
* Copy of medical insurance policy with both of our names

That's it! We don't have anything else! We have simply found it easier to keep our finances seperate, and we can't supply any joint info regarding driving, because my wife doesn't drive.

I have no idea what to do. I can't make supporting evidence appear from thin air.

Help!
