Grrr... the USCIS website made me change my password today. I did that, and now it wont let me access my case (I changed my password a second time so it's not because I have the wrong password).

It says

Validation Error(s)
You must correct the following error(s) before proceeding:

- Login failed. Your User ID and/or Password are invalid.
- Multiple duplicate SRs already exist for the customer

Its not the User ID or password, I checked. Dont know what the SRs are or what to do about that.
Any ideas?

Ohhhh im sure you'll find SOMETHING to worry about!

For sure! But even for a worry-wart like me, this process has taken stress to new levels!

I think your bubble bath idea is the way to go for now...

^ looks like yours and mine are close..they got ours on the 14th but no touch yet sad.gif Last touch was 9/21.. I wonder what that was for biggrin.gif

My previous touch was on 9/21 as well. Its just the day they put us away for filing till they got to us.

Side note...today we had our christmas lunch...boss paid and we did are gift exchange. Boss got us nice smelling candles and then with our little gift trade I got an "invigorating lumbar massager" What else could a girl ask for?

Anyone was Sex in the City? The one where Samantha goes to sharper image to buy a "massager"??? HAHAHAHAH!

HAHAHAH!! I remember that scene oh so clearly!!

NVC doesn't log K-1's in their automated phone system. You have to press 5 to speak to a real person and then ask about your case. You're probably already out of NVC and don't know it. smile.gif

DUDE!!!!!! Thank you! I would have just sat on my #### and not known! rofl.gif oops8rh.gif headbonk.gif

Okay, so I called NVC today and found out that my petition has been forwarded. So..once CSC gets off their duff and hands out some NOA2s here is what to do: call NVC at 603-334-0700 about 5 days after your NOA2, press 1 for english, then 5 to be put on hold and wait. They will ask the case number WAC##########, your name and birth, fiance(e) name and birth. Then they will tell you if it is received and if forwarded onto the embassy. I am sure that someone earlier in the thread added this, but I just wanted to pass it along.

Does anyone know how to determine receive date to embassy? Do I call DOS for that? Okay..more waiting.. whistling.gif

Thanks! Ill paste it a Word file so I can find this easily when finally comes the time!
Ive seen people stalking a DHL page, seeing packages being sent out to respective embassies, but I dont know where you find that.

My way of thinking is if I don't get it this week I won't get it until after the first of the year. I'm sure plenty of people working there will be on vacation the next couple of weeks soooo this week is pretty much it I'm thinking. It would be fantastic if something happens between now and then but I'm really just trying to keep myself on a constant reality check...not the cheeriest way to be but at least I'm not feeling so desperate this way.

yeah... I agree with you.

I do wish someone would report a touch though.
Are they already busy drinking eggnog at CSC?

I have a question for anyone who has gotten NOA2 so far...how long should I wait to bug NVC. It has been 10days since NOA2 issued, but the automated system says "not on file yet." Any thoughts? Thanks!

What the hell is going on at CSC, has anyone found anything in any other threads to shed light on why they basically have stopped cranking?? I didn't realize that they would have a holiday slowdown....

Holiday slow down? More like pre-pre-pre-holiday slow down.
I usually have pre-holiday crank-ups myself.

I think you could start bugging NVC already, from what Ive read elsewhere.

Ok this has absolutely NOTHING to do with the K1 process!

I'm SICK of buying presents! Presents for the boss, presents for co-worker, presents, presents, presents...UGH!

Vacation next week just is NOT close enough!

I hear you about the vacation next week. Can Not Wait!!

I have been in denial about xmas and presents. Aside from fun gifts for the girlfriends, nobody's getting anything from me right now.

I'll get something for my 6yr old nephew for sure... cuz he's always fun to get presents for. But everybody else is so difficult!!

You're getting a present for your boss, you brown-noser!? wink.gif haha!

Well here is how it went down...

Tomorrow she is taking all of us for xmas lunch and we all bring a 10 dollar gift and basically exchange but you can take other peoples gifts and whatnot. So another coworker came up to my desk and says we should get diane something blah blah blah. I was sitting here thinking that's why I baked for 7 hour yesterday for...I got these xmas tins to put all these cookies and ####### I made and THAT was my gift to my boss...heartfelt and all that....so I emailed my co worker and told her I wouldn't be participating in the gift giving to the boss since we are doing gifts tomorrow (boss is participating in that) and that I already had something in mind for her. I'm sure I'll be on the ###### list with the co worker but I did go back and tell my boss look I'm not participating because I have 2 kids and family and a trip to England next week. I'm giving you something but it wont be from the group so that's why my name isn't on the card. She laughed and it said it was ok but I didn't want her to think I was telling her to F off.

Hehehe, you know I was totally joking... but I think you are right. 10 bucks here, 10 bucks there, it all adds up. I think homemade xmas treats trumps a store bought gift in such occasions.

PLUS... what does 10 bucks get you nowadays anyway!? I find it so frustrating to be spending money on crappy presents that look super cheap when as I said, it really does add up in the end. That's why I like homemade stuff. You actually spent time doing it.

Yeah I dont know...this gift giving thing for 10 bucks I dont know what to get. Maybe I'll buy something in my size so they HAVE to give it back to me LMFAO. That will teach them to ask me to participate in their stupid reindeer games!

hahaha! Matt's brother always does that at gift exchanges. He gives something he wants. Last xmas he got a flood light.... not surprisingly came back home with it!

I participated in a gift exchange with the canadian forum and the price limit was 15$, but in the end spent at least 20$ because I felt like it looked too cheap otherwise.

Don't apologize for venting. I think that is the main purpose of a forum. INDEED. Sucks that you can't share your anxiety and worry with your family and friends but we're all here and can sympathize/empathize better than anyone. My brother married a Philippine woman Sept 08 and they are expecting a new baby in February. Their K1 visa was denied (I don't know why; he and I are not very close) so he moved there last December. We were really excited to have her become part of our family. My mom thought that my brother would never marry and since Zoraida has three children from a previous marriage, mom lost her mind in happiness since she could hop into the indulgent grandmother mode immediately.

Konrad and I have been doing the LDR-thing for 12 solid years and whoa, howdy...not easy. On the one hand it's incredibly difficult when you have to be 'on' during that weekly phone call but on the other hand I'm confident we're going to make the best of our life together. It always amazes me that we are still such a great fit when we are together for all of the visits. I'm worried about the compromises needed for day-to-day living when he's here. I've become very used to my scattered schedule, my independence...I think I'll miss being independent most of all. It seems that getting it done all on my own has become a very big part of my personality and that cannot persist in a marriage. Also, I had been thinking about moving on to England after I finish grad school but he's said he'll veto the decision if he has a job he likes once he's working. Not looking forward to that point in life.

Wow 12 years!! Good on you! I guess I should stop whining! Hehe.

I think the holidays also add to the tension and feeling blue.
Matt is coming here in a bit over a week, after 4 months apart, and it wont be a day too soon. ALthough Im annoyed with him at the moment! wink.gif I know I'll get over all my frustrations the second I see him at the airport. I know 4 months apart isnt even that bad either compared to what other couples have to go through. But it jsut starts getting rough after a while, as you all know.
Matt was saying that this process is teaching us not to take each other for granted, and that hopefully in the future we can hold on to that lesson.
I hear couples fighting at the supermarket over stupid sh!t and I think, really, you guys are fighting over trivial ####### like that? If my man was here I would not be fighting over a bag a chips!
To those who won't get to spend the holidays with their loved one, try not to get too depressed and remember that it's your last lonely christmas and think of all the christmases you will have together, and how sweet it will be. That's what Ive trying to do with big dates, like birthdays etc.

Have any of you noticed the tension starts to rise just before a visit? That's the way it's been for me and my girl, we get more nit picky and well... nervous I guess right before a visit.... then we see each other and everything is fine again.... Just our observations....

I have actually. I wonder if it is because we managed to cope up until then, and you know you still have to manage for while, but now that it's getting so close it can't come fast enough... For us (or at least me) there is no nervousness about the visits. I feel like it's more like when you've had to pee a little bit and it wasnt so bad, but now that you see your house you wonder if you'll be able to hold it..... Not the classiest analogy but that's how I see it! lol

blush.gif Konrad and I have 'hottly debated' 1% vs whole milk in the supermarket. That fight happens nearly every time. I'm happy to get both so that neither of us is having to consume something they don't want but he's got to be right and I don't see why I should have to consume 1/3 more calories so that he has milk that 'tastes like milk'. Besides when he runs out of whole milk he uses the 1% rather than schlepping his behind to the store. I've never noticed if our arguments have a temporal pattern. I know we WILL fight if we have to repair the car together. I'm thoroughly pissy anytime I have to work on the car and he feels that telling me how much he genuinely hates my car every 15 seconds is incredibly constructive. He also cannot stand it when I must have everything just so when putting the stuff back together. When replacing the wheel bearings he was slapping packing grease all over the place and gooping up the tools. I almost lost my mind. The situation was just as painful for him when I took over the other wheel and was being as tidy as I could. I flipped out when he started needling me to hurry up. "Just get it back on the car already! If you didn't get it right this time, you'll just do it again." I freaked. I hate working on the car but the idea of just tooling along with the bearings getting ready to seize up at any moment....ARRRRGGGHHHHH He's not allowed to help with the car anymore.

HAHAHA! I can imagine the scene...
Well by no means am I pretending that we've never argued over trivial things or that we won't ever again. But being away from Matt makes me realise that sometimes when it's right in front of us or came easily, we take things for granted.
Actually, what really bothered me with that woman b*tching at her husband at the supermarket was the nasty disdainful tone she was using. I just hope we never talk to each other like that.

I always find it funny when people want the person they are with to change who they were when you met. I've been in that spot before...be cautious. If you have always gone out with your girlfriends then why would it now be a problem?

... yeah... Im never a fan of double standards either. mad.gif

Well my fience is Thai and in Thailand you can have a wedding party and not regester the marrage it is very common so we will do that with a big party and all there for her family and friends ( beside wedding are nice but it is more for the girl than the guys IMO) I am hoping that her visa is done then and she will be able to come back here with me but if not we will have to wait. Then our legal marrage will take place in the 90 day time frame in our backyard. I found something cool and here in my county in CA you can take a 45min class and you are certified to marry 1 couple on 1 day so one of my friend will preform the marrage in the backyard with my family and a few close friends and then we will just BBQ some steaks!! Nice and easy my kind of wedding.

That is if we can get that far. I am stressing about this visa stuff and now my girl is mad at me about something I am not really sure what but I think she will cool off in a day or so. I really think she is stressing over planning the wedding there and trying to make her parents and family happy and proud. I am trying to be understanding and give her some space. Like I said weddings are girls things we(guys) are just there for the ride so I am going along with whatever she wants as long as we can afford it but damm sometimes I dont understand women ( most of the time)! Sorry to get off topic I needed to vent a little and I hope I didnt upset anyone.

I hope things smooth over soon. Im sure they will. It is such a stressful process to start with, Im sure planning a wedding just adds to it.
One little word of advice though, not to add to the confusion, but sometimes when men think a woman needs some space... it's just not what she wants! hehehe. But you're the one who knows your girl, so I could be off track completely. just saying... wink.gif

Yeah... the opposite sex will always remain a mystery I think.

We are planning a June 5th wedding. We are having it in my parents garden because it's absolutely beautiful with the blooming flowers and the pond that they have. I reserved a tent and tables and all that and just basically said to the rental company that THAT is the date we are shooting for but it's all up to immigration. They said that I can change the date as long as I give them notice of the change. I think planning a July 3rd wedding is deff. within the realm of possibility. A lot of it just depends on what embassy you will eventually be having your interview at!

Congrats on the NOA2. It's exciting to know that people are slowly but surely being approved!

that sounds lovely!!

After juggling different ideas, which just proved to add more unneeded stress, we decided to do a city hall wedding, with some of his family (the ones who are at driving distance) and very close friends, pretty much as soon as possible after I get there, so we can file for AoS.

Once we have more of an idea of when I'll be getting my visa, we might plan a bigger, more traditional wedding. Im afraid if we dont do something a little bigger, with my family and some of my friends from back home, I would regret not ever having a "real" wedding.

But right now, with so much uncertainty, the 90 day limit, and from abroad, it was too much stress to try to plan anything.

I think once you get in the 60-75 range you are next in line for processing. I can't believe that all of those filers from the earlier months are still waiting. I know that some are, but most are probably just people who have left VJ and not returned.

For me it has been a week since approval, and I am waiting to get confirmation from NVC that they have received my case. I worry that "something" has gone wrong, but again, it is still within the normal two week time frame posted in the guides. It is probably there, but their system is just not up to date.

So, general question: are people getting their P3/P4 information lined up yet?

My fiancee just got all of her translated documents taken care of and I am sending off more information for the I-134 tomorrow. I didn't expect this go so smoothly, so we are moving faster than anticipated. Great..but also overwhelming at times.

This whole process is tough on the system! I used to think that once we'd get our NOA2, we'd relax, but it seems like you just start worrying and waiting for something new! wink.gif

We have started getting everything ready.
I have my birth certificate and am getting it translated.
I was ready to send in my request for police cert in Australia as it takes a while to get back, but put it off when approvals stopped cuz I dont want its validity to expire by the time I get my interview... but I'll send it in soon.
And Matt has pretty much all his paperwork for the Affidavit of support ready too (Im so proud of him, he finally got the initiative to take care of it all by himself, and told me once it was done!! what a champ! hehe)
All my vaccinations are up to date.
Forms have been practice filled.
I think that's about it. Just waiting for the approval...

Moving up on Igor's list. Painfully slowly, but surely.

One more thing Id like to add is that everybody's situation is different here.
In some cases, the beneficiary wont be able to move until next April anyway for work or academic reasons for example, so there is no big rush to get approved. In other cases, you'll find people who have kids or are pregnant, for example once again, and feel a real urgency to be reunited with their better half. There are many factors at play.

So dont be too quick to judge other people's impatience.
Your mileage will vary, and some people are in rougher situations than others at the moment.

No offense to anyone, but this was completely blown out of proportion.
The guy with the K3 posted his message in the wrong place, very much at the wrong time. IMO, he was so lost, he will never even find the thread again to read the reply. ... and I dont think there was jealousy involved just annoyance. Anyway, he is too happy to care. His wife probably got her visa.

But Im amazed that it's people from different threads, who are in different spots than us, who are giving us lectures and judging pretty quickly the situation, although they dont even know how it went down.

I think this thread is a place for us to vent, and support and congratulate each other. And we have been supporting & congratulating each other with sincerity, I believe.
As per the venting, who else in our lives understands our situation better than the people on this forum? I know that when I write a line saying "This is BS, no approvals, Im frustrated", and someone replies saying "Yes, seriously". I feel better. That is all it takes.
If we cant vent once in a while here, I will start my own b!tching thread and people who want to join me can! wink.gif

.... Now, group hug.

Right. And letting my anger out is healthier than bottling in.

The way Im doing the maths, being about 35 people behind the last person who got approved (on VJ), at 2 approvals a week, I still have to wait 17 weeks. Which is over 4 months. Get ready to hear some real ranting then.
I realise that there could be tons of people that arent on VJ getting approved at the moment, but do think that the VJ sample is fairly statistically representative of the population who has petitioned. Therefore, it would be a statistical aberation if, for 3 weeks in a row, the rate of approval at CSC was the same as usual (whatever that means), and it just happened that only VJers werent getting approved.
