K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNo pictures or evidence what to do?
You cant apply for the K-1 unless you have met atleast once in person. So either she forgets about it or he visits her.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresSubmitting the I-129f petition package.
NOPE, you send it to Texas. Please read the I-129F instructions the address is right in them clearly.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresWhat happens if I did not use the latest I-129F form?
If you did not send the current date accepted they send you back the entire form asking for you to redo it on the proper forms. Then you will redo it and send it all back to them. ALWAYS check the USCIS website for current forms and current payment ammounts. Don't just rely on VJ forms.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresQuestion about after I-129F is accepted and my fiance is in the U.S.
You have to file for AOS for him to get an EAD, AP and greencard.

He has to have the EAD or greencard before he can work.

Check out the guide section for a full step by step guide on filing for AOS after K-1. Cost is now 1070$.

You must fill out an I-134 regardless of if you make income or not. Because you are the one petitioning him, your dad is only going to help you with the income requirement part.

You may want to find out just how important it is to the US embassy in his country. If you get by in the USA with what you have.. you may not get by at his embassy without certain things!

I would recomend asking in the specific countrys region section on the forum for imput on what was requested at interviews for that embassy/country.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresTouched?
you have to make an account on the USCIS website. Just checking your " case status " is not going to show you the updates.

a touch is a " last update " on your case status. Basically they opend or added something to your case or moved it to another desk.

Some get these touches some never get them some get one or a few or their case status NEVER changes and they get approved when it still says initial review.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresHelp please
She will have to tell them on the forms and they will likely find out anyways because they do background and FBI checks. DO NOT LIE. Just tell them the truth and deal with what happens when it does ( if anything does ).

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresCan I start my application while my Fiance is in the states with me
I was visiting my husband ( then boyfriend ) at the time we sent ours, I came to visit and we filled out the forms and got all the papers together. I believe theres a section on the 129F that asks if the SO is currently in the USA etc. Anyways we had no problems doing that and I left shortly after we mailed it.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresDifferent Filing Location?
No the TX location is the new sorting center. Instead of chicago like it was before. They get your petition and cash the check then you get sent to another center to get processed unless that center is backed up then TX will process.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresEmbassy contact the employer
USCIS does background checks on the US citizen as well as the beneficiary. They also do FBI checks on both people too. If they see something of concern, they likely would contact the business.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresRequest for Evidence (RFE)
well its 1 of two things then.

1. they lost your stuff you sent the first time. ( happens A LOT )

2. you didn't send enough proof for them or they don't believe that what you sent is enough.

So send more or send it again.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresi nned more information
1. You will do a CR-1. Here is step by step guide http://www.visajourn...tent/i130guide1

2. If you want a lawyer to feel safe you can get one, sometimes it makes things take longer and it will cost more money with one than without one.

3. Be prepared to wait a year or longer. Sometimes it can go faster.

4. If she is really scared to get scammed again make sure to go to a few lawyers before picking one, interview different ones. But if she comes on VJ and follows the guides on here she can also do it herself. USCIS has the forms for free as well as the instructions for the forms. She can find the correct mailing address on the USCIS website as well.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNOA2 documents
You don't get your brothers tax transcripts, he gets his own. He calls the IRS and asks for them.

Of course you need proof with I-134 you need your tax transcripts as well. Pay stubs etc, its all in the guides.

I-864 poverty guidelines PDF on USCIS website tells you what you need to make. For a family of 2 people its 18,212$ if you make more than that then you don't need a co-sponsor.

Your brothers house hold is 3 + your fiance = 4. $27,562 If you are included then the house is 5, $32,237 http://www.uscis.gov...form/i-864p.pdf

Of course the 134s need to be signed as does all the forms!

You also cant get your money back that you spent already for the K-1 so not only do you lose that money but you have to pay AGAIN for the CR-1 and you have to start waiting from the start all over again and possibly longer for the CR-1.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresNEED ADVICE

yes, it's really a huge inconvinience. It's not only the lost items i'm worried about because they have scanned over almost every documents in our package, particularly my tax return, my bankaccount because it was returned to me on a different condition. Im worried because I could be at risk with what they call 'Identity theft', does anyone please advice me with regards to this? thanks guys in andvance.

Keep an eye on your credit scores is one way. If you start noticing weird changes with it someone may be using your ident. Im not sure if you can check your social sec number activity or report that someone may have taken your ident to them.. Keep an eye on your bank account transactions, watch for any that you don't make! if you use online banking maybe change your password on it to something really hard for someone to figure out like random numbers and letters.

Yea I know that part thanks.

Can I marry her and have my mom sponsor her though? Even though I don't have a job?

As long as your mothers income is above the I-864 poverty guidelines for the household number she can co-sponsor. You still have to file the I-134 along with her.

She can't work when she gets here untill AOS is filed and she gets her EAD or green card in the mail. That is currently a 3-4 month wait.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresACCO Fasteners for K-1 Visa (I-130) Petition package

Inky, Thanks for responding so quickly. I think that your way is such a better way to do it. Very simplified. It doesn't make any sense why USCIS suggests we use ACCO, but then takes everything apart anyways and reassembles it. I think they just like to confuse us or hope that we give up with all of the requirements. lol. Thanks again. I'll be doing it exactly the way you did the petition.

good luck

K-1 petition approved no RFEs no problems, used a cover page, a giant paper clip and that is all. No fancy stuff no add ons no nothing, they take apart your petition and redo it in their folders with their fasteners their way.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Proceduresplease helpj
It sounds like he has PTSD, the same thing happend to my friend and his wife. He returned home from IRAQ and he was 100% different, yelled randomly, screamed in the night, called her names always accused her of being sneeky and doing strange things shes never done. He refused counceling and she ended up having to leave him because the stress and the things he said was so horrible.

He finally went into counceling and they put him on medication. Hes a lot better and almost back to how he was before but he has to continue the medications and the therapy for the rest of his life. PTSD is very common for people who spent a large amount of time in IRAQ.

It worked for you. What did you do? Does it update automatically, or do you have to edit it on every update?

Its a signature so you have to change it yourself, you add whatever colours or whatever you want it to say. It doesn't update automatically or anything.

If I'm not wrong you need to go to "Edit My Profile" and then you add the information you want to show on the field that says "Our Story".

For it to show in every post like they said it has to be in the forum signature.

125% of the poverty GUIDE is on the I-864 not on W-2 or income. http://www.uscis.gov...ECTS/I_864P.pdf

Texas Lockbox is a sorting facility, it gets sent from TX to either VSC or CSC.

Correct the fee has changed for the I-129F to lower amount. BUT the visa fee is MUCH higher than it was before.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresFree School after marriage?

i know, but there is no educational center where you can take in your military ID and get free education,is there?

With the GI bill it is "free" because it is all paid for in full by the GI bill. There is even a program for military spouses to get paid to go to school full time an extra 900ish a month. While they pay for you to go to school.

Everyone in the military says go to school its free. Make sure you go before you leave the military its free. Etc etc.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & ProceduresFree School after marriage?

completely true,as far as my fiance and i know, there is GI bill, but there is no such thing as free college/university for the armed forces families

The GI bill is used for the whole family not just the military enrolled. It is for wife and children as well.

Some embassy wont accept a co-sponsor. You don't say where your SO is or where your SO would be interviewing. Some embassy are really really strict and some have high fraud problems so its going to be hard to advice you on things without more infos.
