All,

 

I'm not sure if anyone has any ideas, but I received our case number for our K1 visa a month ago, and our interview at CDJ has been scheduled for a few weeks now.  I have never been able to get the CEAC site to work since we received the case number.  Every time I try it I get a Application Error.

 

I have tried both the immigrant visa status and non immigrant visa status through CDJ.  Either way I get the same result, Application Error.

 

Our case number is in this format: CDJ2013xxxxxx with the 6 x's representing the last 6 digits.  I enter the number in exactly in that format every time whether under the immigrant visa status or non immigrant visa status.  Is there a different format it needs to be entered in to actually work?

 

It seems like it should be pretty straightforward, but for some reason it isn't for me.  Any thoughts would be appreciated.

If yes. Then we have the same problem.  Saylin said it must be the kind of browser we are using. We need to use INTERNET EXPLORER to open CHECK MY VISA APPLICATION STATUS.

 

Im not a Pro with regards computer but Im trying to switch back to IE but still not working. I am using Googles. (:

It took them 2 and a half months? Whew!!! Finally someone else who's waited a long time to get the alien # changed . Felt like I was the only one.

The USCIS website case status checker is working today, but do not take what it says as the true process as the site is not being updated and has not been updated for many in the last 30 days, I know this from a small group of us on Facebook that have applied and already been approved after submitting our I-751 and even I got a letter stating my I-751 was approved 2 days ago, but have not had email or text updates as I signed up for let alone the website being updated.
 
You will be torturing yourselves if you rely  upon it being accurate and updated daily! Take what the site says with a pinch of salt! In other words do not take it seriously!

I' m wondering how much truth there is to this because I've been waiting 30days almost with no Alien Registration number. But then again, there are lots of people here who check their status and they've been seeing changes so I'm not sure.

Not for me. Now it's actually giving me a, "Server is currently unavailable or down for maintenance" message. When I was checking it earlier the page just wouldn't load, there was no error message. It's okay though, I figure they're taking advantage of the holiday weekend to do some site maintenance. I don't suspect there will be updates to any cases today anyway right?

I'm a former programmer.  It's a three-day weekend in the US (for the Feds).  Often, if there are big program changes to be made, the IT Department (Information Technology) chooses a three-day weekend to implement them - so they have an extra day to fix any problems!  Look like they made a good choice for this Columbus Day Weekend!

I'm so frustrated right now. I just called USCIS for the first time this morning. I just wanted to ask a quick question about my alien registration number. Today makes 40 days since the receipt of our NOA1 and 51 days since we filed our initial application. I know we still have to wait for the NOA2 and all that but in my mind it's a bit strange that we haven't received this small piece of the puzzle yet. So I decided to call once we got to 40days. So I called this morning only to find out that they cannot give me any information since I'm not the applicant!!! Or unless the applicant is sitting next to me. Why? As the Beneficiary am I not a part of this process as well? I don't get it. She will probably never be able to call since she works from 5:30am-8pm most days so if we have an issue/question what do I do? This makes NO sense to me. Anyone else frustrated by this?

 

 I think I'm a little emotional today because today is the anniversary of the day we first met 8yrs ago...not our official couple anniversary but still a very special day and it just emphasizes the fact that we're not together right now. I am so afraid of ending up like those people who wait in this process for a year or more and now that our #ARN has not been changed it just makes me feel like we might be. crying.gif

 

Sorry just venting... now back to your regularly scheduled programs.

I know I'm in for a lot of waiting, I realize I've only been in this for a little over a month and there's a ways to go, I'm just asking about the alien registration number part ...I've seen some people get theirs changed within a day or two so I was slightly concerned that's all.

Received my "A# change" notification today. Cautiously optimistic. Got two text notifications 15 mins apart, hoping that the second one is for NOA2 approval. Online the status still states - Initial Review though

 

Bummer, just got off the phone with a "Tier 2" USCIS IO and she says that the text/ email-notification received by me about the A# change was just a "glitch" in their system :( and so the saga continues...

August filer here... Sent everything away on 8th August got E-Notification on 12th, Had NOA 1 in paper on 15th, and changed my registration number on 14th.

 

Currently it says under initial review. Whatever that is.

so we do not need the ds 160 instead we will submit forms DS 157 DS156 DS 156K DS 230 Part I

 

Since its past October 7th 2013 and from the look of things you have not submitted a valid, signed, unexpired DS-156, DS-156K and/or DS-230 

 

My answer would be that you will have to fill up the DS-160 application and then schedule and interview. Hope that helps

It is said someone receives e-mail notifications, someone doesn't. Our case was shipped on 16th, and my boyfriend called them yesterday - they answered they had never received it yet. My e-mail is still ignored tongue.png

 

 

Oh I hope to have my interview in December too, feels like I am in the same boat with your fiancee. I am sure she'll be alright, especially if she knows English; COs in Moscow pay great attention to it ( unless petitioner is fluent in Russian, of course biggrin.png )

 

Based on your timeline, looks like our case may ship around the 24th of October..I would be very glad if that comes true :) I would not mind waiting another week, as long as, we can schedule the interview in December. I do not think the interview is going to be an issue, Mila is fluent in both russian and english and speaks a lit bit of spanish too. She loves to talk, but I guess, most russian girls i met do ;)

 

Anyways, I hope Moscow Embassy receives your case soon and you will be able to interview with them sooner! Wish you all the best!

Well, our case was approved on 10 Oct, and it is said they sent it out from TSC on 16 Oct. I think it is too early to hope they have processed it so soon, but I've already sent them a very polite e-mail ( NVCInquiry@state.gov )  a question about my petition whistling.gif  

 

They usually answer within 2-4 days, and for me (as a beneficiary) it is more comfortable to use this option - it is believed ( but I am not sure about it) that USCIS and NVC give information by phone only to petitioners.

 

And yes, it is only the halfway, but I have to admit: things are going much faster than I supposed .

 

Best of luck you too! Kaliningrad is so far from Moscow, I think it is more stressful to have such an important interview not in your hometown (and honestly Moscow is not the most friendly city in the world, haha), but she is lucky you will be there with her good.gif

 

Hmm, so does it take a week for TSC to forward the petition to NVC? Does one get an email / letter that states that? Our case was approved on the 18th so, we a week behind you. I will give USCIS a week and then start pestering them ;))) We are planning to schedule the interview sometime in December and no, unfortunately, I will not be able to join her for her interview in Moscow...i wish, i could, but i became a US citizen in July and we did not apply for a russian visa. Hopefully everything will go accodring to plan and she will be here around the 10th of January!

It takes around 1 month (normally) to get a police certificate there in Moscow, so I would advice to start with it right after you've received a hardcopy of your NOA-2 (congratulations, btw smile.png ) 

 

 

 

You are very welcome and thank you :) Well, I talked to my fiancee and we are going to try to get all the documents together soon. It is difficult though, since she cannot take time off from work, hopefully we will find a way to get it done :( 

 

Did you get your case number yet from NVC? Curious to know how long that takes and how long would it take to actually get an interview scheduled in Moscow. My fiancee is from Kaliningrad, so we plan to be in Moscow for a week and get the Medical test and the interview done in the same week.

 

Its still a long way to go, but I am happy that we got our NOA2 :)
