I didn't see any increase or changes in the filing fee for I-129F, it still $445.00 in USCIS website. Are you sure you filled out the right form?
check www.uscis.gov and click immigration forms.



I sent mine in on the 9th and I received letter that they received it and needed to get her passport photo's redone but nothing about any added fee's.

hello can someone please tell me how to look at my old posts........I was having a problem with my fiancee's ex and someone gave me some good information on who to contact in the military about it .....i was out there over the holiday weekend he showed up at her house didn't know i was there and started a huge fight....someone told me who to contact over in the army so i will not be able to go back to the Phils but I cant find the thread....thanks for all your help.....we did contact the police but were unable to find him

with the use of violence. There are police officers all over the Philippines that when summoned are able to stop any threat to be carried out. Just for your information ..... The USemb has a 24 hour number you can call if you feel there is an emergency.

You have options, but most will depond upon your individual circumstances.

If you continue with the K1 you will need a way to get your mail forwarded to the Philippines reliably. The Phil Postal System is not known for reliability. After you get the visa will need time to return to the USA and get married, apply for AOS, do a biometrics, and attend a possible interview.

The other option is to stop the K1 and get married. I would suggest petitioning for a CR1 visa over a K3. There will be no AOS with the CR1 visa. Also, look into doing a Direct Consulate Filing DCF at the USEM. Most Embassys require a 6 months stay in the country before accepting a DCF.

ok I have put in all paperwork for the k1 visa now my company wants me to relocate overseas either to India or the phils (which it looks like it will be the Phils) ....what do I do now????? can I get it transferred there? do I wait till the paperwork get to the embassy in Manila and then go and talk to them......or would it be easier to marry her there then try to transfer the paperwork to a k-3???? any and all help would be appreciated

One follow up question, has anyone gotten the actual card yet? How long does it take? My wife's drivers license expires in two weeks, It would be awesome to renew with the 10 year card and not the 1 year extension letter.


Just got a text saying the card was mailed yesterday. I never would have guessed we would be able to renew my wife's license with the 10 year green card instead of the one year extension letter. This went so much faster than I expected.

I noticed that none of the cases that have been transferred so far, since April, have been approved yet.
Whereas, cases that have been approved already ( in some cases, within 2 months for some July filers) have not gone through a transfer at all.

 

I wondered pretty much the same thing, where do all these VSC cases join the queue? Is the queue nominally by NOA1 date? Date received at CSC?

 

What is funny about this wait is it doesn't really matter how long this takes for 90%+ of the people(including me) as long as you are approved within 6 mos to a year but I still find myself checking the USCIS on a weekly basis.

Thanks for your fast response.

 

In the packet I included:

 

- Cover letter explaining our background, where we work, and that we stay at my mother's house. I specifically stated that we stayed at my mother's house therefore no lease was under our name.

 

-Copy of joint tax returns for 2011 & 2012 

 

- Copy of our most recent joint bank account statement which gets movement mostly from me since her work deposits her check into a separate debit card

 

- Copy of both our driver's licenses showing the same address

 

- Copy of utility bill showing both of our names

 

- Copy of UNLV letters/envelopes addressed to us individually from 2011 & 2012 showing same address.

 

- Affidavit from 13 year old friend that knows us both well

 

- Affidavit from neighbor that was invited to our wedding & sees us on a regular day basis

 

- 23 pictures that expand our 4 year relationship not just our marriage.

 

The RFE was specific to our case since it stated the only evidence that expanded the course of our marriage were our joint tax returns. It asked for general evidence like:

 

Mortgage, leases under our name

Birth certificates of children

Life insurance policies

Military BOA (I mentioned I wanted to join the military in my cover letter, but cant until I get my 10 year residency)

 

We are going to see the immigration lawyer that sent our first packet in 2 years ago, tomorrow but I'm nervous as to I don't know if theres much we can do. Any help is VERY much appreciated. My mother is upset that I sent this packet without seeking lawyer help and spending close to 2K, and pretty much blames it on me that I received a RFE. 

 

You spent 2K on what without a lawyer?

 

I am no expert but this is what you missed.

 

1. Send joint bank accounts statements covering the last two years, most people at a minimum send  quarterly statements representing the last two years. (e.g. March/June/Sept/Dec 2011/2012/2013)

2. Again, send utility bills representing the last two years on a quarterly/monthly basis (same as above)

3. An affidavit should be from an adult, not a 13 year old. (or did you mean someone you have known for 13 years?)

4. Do you have any medical insurance information over the last two years. Bills, etc.?

5. Anything where one of you is the beneficiary for life insurance/retirement funds/etc. for the other?

 

Relax, you are likely OK, see what the lawyer says.  Worst case scenario is they will schedule an interview.  You are a long way from having to be nervous but just take the RFE seriously and rethink what you have to send to answer it.

Hey guys, havent checked in since I initially posted here. Well, on this beautiful Saturday morning I woke up to a letter from USCIS, thinking it might be something good. Unfortunately, I received a RFE letter cray5ol.gif . I am frustrated as I sent in as MUCH information as I could gather up. 

 

I believe the hardest thing about this is that me and my spouse are way young and therefore it's harder to provide the evidence needed. 

We are 20/21, live in my mother's house (therefore don't have any leases under our names) & share a car that my mother gave me which is still under her name. I don't know what to do. Do I look for a immigration lawyer? I'm crushed as I am just waiting for my approval so I can enlist in the Air Force. What do I do guys?!?!?

 

Can you give us a list of what you did send? Does the RFE give any indication of what is missing?

 

1. Affadavits? Including from your mother that you live with her?

2. Anything and everything with a common address - Tuition bills?  Driver's licenses? Cell Phone Bills?

3. Did you send your joint tax returns?

4. Medical Bills/Insurance?

You need to add the number from NoA and not the bio letter....this happened to me when I used the number from the biometrics letter


In our case, the reverse was true. The case number from NOA1 is not recognized but the case number from biometrics does work.

I logged into my account on USCIS website and tried to add my case to my portfolio but get a message that I've attempted to add a case that doesn't exist. I've checked to make sure I entered the receipt number correct. Is anyone else having problems with this?

 

I got the same error when I entered the case number from the NOA1.  It did accept the case number from the biometrics number which is a different number. Others can chime in but I think this is a known issue (or feature depending on your perspective) as I think you see something similar when you go through the K-1 AOS process.

Since we DCF'd, this is the first time I have dealt with USCIS stateside, I have three questions:

 

1. The I-797 lists a receipt date of 7/31/13 but it is stamped in red with Aug 06 2013.  The same date was also stamped on the outside of the envelope.  What is the NOA1 date?

2. It extends my wife's green card one year, from what date? Receipt Date, Red Stamp Date, or Green Card Expiration Date?

3. The Receipt number is not working on the USCIS website, it has the correct first three letters so I am pretty sure I am using the right number. Is there normally a time lag before the number is recognized on the website?

When my wife was flying back home last night, the TSA officer told her she should renew her driver's license as it was about to expire.  She told him, yes she knows :-) In AZ, they will only issue a license for as long as the green card is valid. Still waiting on the NOA1 so she can renew it for a year and then renew it again once the 10-year comes. Good thing license renewals are about $6.

Woahh, happy to receive my ASC appointment letter today, well it was dated Aug. 16 but I just received it today. I'm scheduled to have my biometrics Sept. 3rd. I feel lucky date was my late dad's birthday. Thank you Lord and good luck to everyone.

Got the email this morning that we have an RFE ...almost 6 months and they couldn't figure out that they wanted more/different information prior to now?!

I called the information line, was escalated to a tier2 officer, and they can't give me any information about what they want. The real cherry on this situation is I have major surgery upcoming in the next 2 weeks - if I get a 30 day deadline, I may be screwed.

Argh, I can't decide if I'm sad, angry or depressed. We had hoped to not spend another summer apart.

Finally, after much consternation and a couple of false starts, submitted our total and correct I-130 packet. Sent on Oct 14, received at Chicago Lockbox on Monday, October 17th. I sure hope that things go smoothly for all of us!

Still waiting.....

It's been so frustrating to watch the "Timeline". When we first filed, it listed possible adjudication from Jan 22 - March 18. Today.....April 26 - June 22. Wow. Just wow.

I know it's a common theme, but it is beyond frustrating to watch certain countries receive NOA2 within a few weeks after filing, while other applicants from other countries just sit and wait. And wait.

Tired of feeling like life is on hold. Sigh.

gosh! our case is not yet received by NVC..wow it's been 2 weeks now since our NOA2! pls hurry up CSC...school opening is Aug. 27.



Same here, we have a notice date of May 11th - "Rhonda" at the NVC line today said that they anticipate a 20 BUSINESS DAY time for file transfer from USCIS to NVC right now. Just keep calling!
