I just found about this website from a friend of mine and I wish I would have known sooner... I feel so lost in all the information. I went to a lawyer cuz I thought It would be a faster process then me taking a chance to do it on my own and mess things up really bad. When I went to see the lawyer they made it sound so simple. Its a long story... one that had me at the lawyers asking for my money back, to which in turn they assured me my papers would finally get sent off 4 months later. I thought the lawyer route would be the fastest and easiest route to travel. It has not been at all.
Does this mean the process time is going to be doubled on me now if I have to file another form the I130? They told me at the lawyers office they would file for K3 which would get him here the fastest.

cuz im a newbie and I dont kno how it was filed... k1 or k3. I took it to a lawyer cuz all this is new to me I never even knew anyone who filed b4. That is the reason I took it to a lawyer. They told me not to worry "we will get ur husband home." I made an appointment with immigration today for wednesday.

Spoke to a human... they said I am still within prossesing dates. Told me to wait until October.... Then I asked what if the lawyer didnt send the proper paperwork. She said if there was something wrong with it they would have sent the whole packet back... in most cases. LOL... in most cases. I said well what if we arent most cases???

She said if there was a problem they should have sent it back already....hmmm .... should have???

Get your receipt number from the attorney. He or she should have that if indeed they filed for you. If they can't produce, ask for doumentation on when it was sent (exactly_ like the registered mail receipt). Then I think your only recourse is to contact your State Bar and file a complaint. They might be able to pressure him to pay back the retainer.

There seem to be a number of Immigration Attorneys out there that are really untrustworthy, and do very poor work. Petitions are easy for them, they don;t make as much money and in many cases I think they prefer deportation issues which give them the court time and more $$. I will say there are many GOOD Attorneys out there as well, you just have to shop around. This process, provided you have no complicated issues, can be done by the petitioner. It only takes time and paitence on your part to make it through it, and sometimes that in and of itself can be a challenge.

Sputum Test in St. lukes Walkthrough

I had a long journey of this Medical.
Feb 07 - I went there becoz they said there is already results for my culture. But none yet.
Feb 09 - i was present again at St lukes---- CULTURE NEGATIVE. i WAS SCARED FOR THE XRAY COZ THEY SAID IF IT IS GET WORST I WILL REPEAT THE WHOLE PROCEDURE...like getting sputum test again and it will take time again....huhuhuhu...well i hope not that worst..Pls Lord!!

The 24th of February came with so much nervous all over my body. Repeat xray was finished in the morning and i was told to make a call at 4:30 in the afternoon for the results. When i called them i was instructed to come back the next day Feb 25...for the evaluation...my goshhh..this is killing me softly....i dont even know what to think...am i passed or what! But all of my friends here said...everything will be fine...you'll gonna be passed...i wish that easy to convince your self if you're the one on that situation. But i am very thankful with them for always there with me for giving me strength.

Feb 25 7:30- i was really nervous what will doctor will gonna tel me. Wow! I am FINE! They said i can proceed to my immunization today. I was so so so happy and relieved. They called my name for U.S counter for Physical Test again. Then re-peat urine test before getting the vaccine...and finally at 2pm my name called at releasing counter. Now i am sure that i am good to go for my interview. they get my passport and appointment letter to be forwarded to US Embassy Manila. I am so happy and a big smile on my face while i am walking on my way out..and i told to my self "this will be my last day and i have no business with St Lukes any more"

I know this is not easy....I know how it feels....I just want to tell you all guys... always be strong and keep praying.

I was so disappointed when my gf had to do the sputum test. We were psyched to have here here in a couple weeks only to be thrown into the 2 month delay as spit hit the fan. Well...this friday (March 18th) she is supposed to call as her 8 week culture is up. I will let everyone know how it goes so you have an idea of how it goes currently in this process. She thinks they will say all is good, come get your vaccinations. She thinks they will schedule her interview appt a few days from her vaccinations and have visa in hand in less than a week. (yeah I know...in a perfect world) I have heard that but some things have an urban legend flavor to them and who knows-- I will let you know if it really can happen or not. I kinda hope it happens quickly before the air fares peak.

If you are reading this because you got dinged on the medical and have to do the 2 month culture--bless you. I looked for whatever I could find about this too and alot of it is several years old. It sucks to have the delay and really takes the wind out of your sails. It does, however, go fast and you eventually start getting that same rush you had after you got NOA2...the feeling it will actually happen soon.

Philippine passport without signature

He can affix his signature on the very last page of the passport, beneath the "Person to contact in case of emergency".

My husband's Philippine passport doesn't show his signature on the bio page but it didn't cause any problem as it is the same passport that he used on his F2B visa application.

Hello fellow VJ'ers, I was wondering if it's common for minors not to have their signature on their passport. My brother-in-law is 14 years old and we just noticed that he didn't have his signature on his passport. This would be a problem? Can he put his signature on it?

Philippine passport for minor

Hi guys, I would like to ask if it's imperative for a minor child to affix his/her signature on his/her passport? When my brother-in-law ( 13 yr old) applied for his passport, he didn't affix his signature on his passport and the DFA didn't even bother to ask him or notice it.. I wasn't sure if he is required to sign it because the new Philippine passport now is signed electronically and his was empty. I'll try to call DFA this coming Monday to ask about this but for the meantime any input is really appreicated.

Minors Traveling Alone w/ Immigrant Visa - Philippines

Hi guys, I would like to know if minors below 18 of age(14 and 16) are require to secure a travel clearance from DSWD before flying to USA? I called the Philippine airlines and they said that they required minors to present clearance to travel and both notarized letter from parents allowing minors to travel alone. My problem is, the DSWD clearance to travel. Before PDOS, my in-law went to DSWD office to obtain the clearance, but he was told that minors are not require to secure a clearance to travel abroad since they have an immigrant visa, which they have. So they went to attend their PDOS in Manila and they have no problem with it, so they were given a PDOS sticker in their passport. Again, I called PAL several times, and they keep saying that they need a clearance to travel from DSWD and I keep telling them that DSWD said that they don't need a clearance to travel abroad since they have an immigrant visa. I guessed, Philippine airlines is not informed about this type of issue because they keep saying that per PAL they need a clearance to travel for minors. I don't know what to do. I already booked their flights and they're flying this Saturday. Any experience?

Any suggestion will be appreciated.

Why would any sane individual submit a Tax transcript and return for the same year. They both contain the same info. You have spent the last three weeks of your life screaming that the USEM would not allow Tax Transcripts now your telling someone to submit them in addition to the 1040. If USEM does not recognize them then why bother ??? Dude you need to stop putting out this bad info to people. The process is stressful enough anyway, without people like you trying to confuse people with bad info.

The Tax Transcript is a govt issued summary of all the information that was filled on your 1040. You can submit either or to the Embassy. If you have your 1040 submit it. If not order a copy of your transcript. It is an either or situation not a both. I don't know why he keeps saying that. .

Here is a post from him instructing someone to do the same but I say "I believe they need it or they need it" makes it different LOL

"At their interview, a K-1er at the U.S. Embassy Manila recently submitted a tax transcript. The consular officer required the K-1er to submit an income tax return.

Tax transcripts are acceptable as long as you submit the income tax return with it.

If your interview is scheduled after April 17, I would recommend submitting tax returns and W-2's from 2010 and 2011, as well as current paycheck stubs. I would also include a tax transcript for 2010. An employer's letter would be good also.

Your interview is in March so they know you would not be able to get tax transcript for 2011 yet. 2010 would still be considered most recent. Therefore whatever you have for 2010 make sure you get the transcript as well. Make sure you explain that 2011 transcript is not yet available, unless you can get it... then do so. Do not forget W2's for both 2010 & 2011.
