You are still within the normal range for petition approval. If everything was submitted correctly, I don't think you have much to worry about.

K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress ReportsIncreased fees
The fee increases were done to pay for the weekly party they throw on Friday...yes Friday. That is why we never see approvals on this day. The party usually goes from Friday through Sunday. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday are scheduled "rest and relaxation days" to recover from the weekly party. Thursday is approval day. good.gif

You don't need your NOA1. It's just a notice that says they received your petition. If you can read the back of your cancelled check and find your petition number, you can track your progress online.

We filed in June and never got an NOA1 so maybe that gives you some prospective on how the USCIS works.

No, there are many people in May that haven't received their NOA2 yet, just as there are many in June that haven't yet either. What I am saying is an inquiry usually won't occur until you are substantially out of the "normal time" for an approval.

A timeline would be helpful. good.gif Also, since you filed on June 12th, your Congressman isn't going to do anything. You are waiting the same amount of time everyone else has been waiting. In 6 months if you haven't heard, then call your Congressman.

If you received an RFE....was it a touch and then you got the RFE email the next day?

Besides the touches we got from me calling, we had two touches prior to receiving the RFE notice.

I was really nervous when I first filed and I was wondering if I would be sent a request for additional info. When I called the USCIS a few weeks after they received my petition, I was told by an agent that a request for additional info would have been recorded in the system already, so I had nothing to worry about. Maybe you can call and inquire for clarification.

Hope this helps

That isn't true at all. We sent our petition in on June 4th. NSC received it on June 7th and it finally made it to CSC on the 19th of June. We did not get our RFE until Oct. 31st. The agents will tell you pretty much anything they want to. End of story.

Well I guess I believed it because I never received a request for additional info and my petition was approved since then. Your case may be noted for an RFE in their system, but it does not mean that they send that request out to you immediately. Not sure how their process works but in my case the agent was telling the truth.

How would you know if the agent was telling the truth? You didn't get an RFE so the point is moot. Your case isn't even looked at in detail until it hits the adjudicators desk. How could they issue you an RFE 4 or 5 months prior if they haven't even looked at it?

An interesting read. I seen that in some cases, people got RFE's for not sending in their beneficiaries birth certificate. No where in the guides does it say we need to submit a bc at this point. I am not going to be happy if this could have been averted in the first place by knowing a bc may be asked for.

No, it doesn't...That is why the VJ guides need to add this little bit of information that they may ask for the birth certificate. It is becoming a common thing it seems.

VJ needs to put something in to the guides that states that the USCIS may request your fiance(e)'s birth certificate. This is becoming all too common now.

Well we were issued an RFE on the 31st and we still did not get it. The first time I called about it, they told me 5 to 6 days. OK, fair enough. The next tiime I called regarding my address, I asked them again about the RFE, this time it was 2 weeks. Now today, I checked to make sure my address was corrected and they told me 30 to 45 days! I am so tired of being told one thing and then the next time they say something else.

They said they can't tell me anything over the phone to "protect my privacy." I called the guy on that and said. OK, so I can call up and change my address, yet you don't know the person you are talking to is me. How is that protecting my privacy? He said "well, in this instance, we would be taking your word for it." Unbelievable. So I say, well can you check my address to make sure it was taken down correctly. He says: "I can't do that." I said, well the first time I called, they read my address back to me and asked if my address was correct, so now you are telling me you can't do that? He says: "Well you probably talked to a immigration officer that time." So why can't you put me through to an immigration officer this time? "Sir, you need to schedule and INFOPASS to do that." #######????

Can somebody please give me CSC's direct line so we could verify if they had sent the our case to NVC. We received the approval last Oct 12 and my fiancee inquired several times with the NVC but they said that our case is not yet with them. We're both upset and want to track it with the CSC. Any advise would be gladly appreciated.

There's no direct line to CSC that I know of, but many of us have use their RFE line as they're able to assist you further than their customer service line. Here's how to get through the RFE line:

Call 1-800-375-5283

Follow these prompts:

1, 2, 2, 4, 2, 1 Then enter your receipt number and press 1 to verify that it is correct, Press 1 again.

Good luck!

Not quite. Every time I have called the misinformation line, I was given completely different information. I wouldn't trust anything you hear if you call that number and do the RFE deal.

Im almost sorry I called..... crying.gif crying.gif crying.gif

I got Officer Nancy...who seemed nice but seemed to have a different story. When I called the other day, she said the adjudicator had gotten my case...would be ordering name checks which take a few days and I'll hear shortly after that. THen I get these touches.

NOW today she said he's had it since NOVEMBER 21. That the touch today was simply an update to some data in the system, and that I should call back in 30 days. Many there are on vacation and that some work slower than others (BY AN ENTIRE MONTH??? WHERES MANAGEMENT???) . That it could still be 30 more days.....Ok Im officially broken. No more positive, no more anything. I dont get it....how can it go from a few days, anytime to up to 30 more days????? And now she says the NAME CHECKS are the LAST THING before they issue an approval.....Thats not how it sounded the other day...Im sooo confused.

Please don't let customer service screw with your emotions. Calling them only makes this worse. For all you know she just had a bug up her ### today. Hang in there. Don't plug into anything they say. The guy yesterday told me they are only on May applications. They don't know what they are talking about and it will only make you feel worse.

You are going to get yours so soon! good.gif

Im wondering if she got monitored giving out information she wasn't supposed to....Casue I got what many here consider "the scripted" 30 days call back thing...but thats NOT what she said the other day....I know that if I dont have noa2 by my 6 month time...Im taking action..of some sort..

My advice to everyone is to ignore Officer Nancy and all the rest of them. They are incorrect at least 50% of the time. Why even bother talking to them? If you have a real problem or have gone over the 6 month processing commitment I would recommend going directly to your elected representative and/or the ombudsman.

Its just so aggravating to think that everyone depends so much on these idiots in customer service and it really seems like they really cant give any real info that its the same thing we see on the screen and nothing more!!!!!

Customer service really doesn't serve a purpose. Think about it. You cannot change your address through them, all they do is direct you to find the paperwork to fill out and send in either online or via mail. Forget about giving you any information on an RFE even though the prompt says "if you have a question regarding the information USCIS is asking for..." they will not tell you ANYTHING. As far as any other information about your case? No way. So what exactly is their purpose? Maybe they ought to do a story on this...think they did something called "The Fleecing of America" on the NBC nightly news. This would fit pretty well.
